Things I would have changed:I would have liked a dove-tail real site so windage could be adjusted. The lazer workes well and almost a necessity if one is wanting accuracy/plinking fun. Very addictive. What others should know:This is a very well made air pistol and displays obvious quality. I am not fond of the safety, but it is acceptable. Except for the lack of adjustable rear site, I am very happy with the purchase.

But i must say that I was impressed with this gun. It has a nice hefty weight to it, it"s made of durable metal and a high quality polymer. Blowback with open ejection port is awesome. After the last shot is fired, the slide stayd cocked back like a real firearm.Speaking of the slide, it has a nice matte black finish ! Accuracy up to 30 ft. is pretty good. Each co2 cartridge will give you at least 100 shots as long as you put a drop of Crosman Pellgunoil on the tip of each one before charging it into the pistol.. Things I would have changed:I"ve thpught about it for a few minutes and haven"t been ablr to come up with anything. What others should know:If you"re into shooting realistic looking, feeling, and performing air pistols, you won"t go wrong with thw Walther CP99 compact... If you wanna have fun with it, get at least 4 extra mags, the Walther laser, lots of Copperhead BBs, co2 powerlets and Pellgunoil to keep the fun going for a long time..

I think it needs a much lighter spring. What others should know:If you shoot it too fast, even on a hot day, the CO2 cartridge will get too cold and act as if it is out of gas. If you let it warm you can go back to shooting without changing the CO2. I can shoot about 5 mags on one.

The recoil on the first several shots is similar to a .22 rimfire pistol. The recoil will diminish after several magazines and/or rapid shots. I must admit, it's hard not to rip off several rapid shots with this pistol. I found the accuracy acceptable at 25 ft. and the noise level reasonable for indoor basement shooting.
Things I would have changed:I really cannot find anything I would like to change at this time What others should know:I strongly recommend buying the extra magazines, which I did, to minimized your loading time and increase your shooting time. I also recommend buying the Crosman Pellgunoil oil as other have recommended. The price of the oil is nominal if it will maintain the performance of the pistol.
This is my first air pistol in 20 years and now my favorite. If you enjoy shooting real handguns, this blowback style air pistol is the way to go.

Overall excellent feel in the hand, although I find that the distance from the back of the gun to the trigger is a little short for my hands. I have read numerous reviews stating that this gun is not accurate. While I'm not a competitive shooter and don't have a good handle on what the definition of accurate is, I find this gun pretty good at 25 ft. From that distance, I can usually place about 15 out of 17 shots in the 8 points or higher range on a standard 25ft pistol target (with RWS Match BBs). I actually find this gun to be MUCH more accurate than my Beretta Px4, as the blowback on the CP99 Compact is much more manageable. The Beratta is more fun to shoot as it has a more realistic recoil, but getting the bullets on target is a little tougher. Things I would have changed:My only complaint about this gun is that the halfway point of the trigger pull releases the BB and if you take too much time squeezing the trigger while aiming slightly downward, the BB just rolls out of the barrel. This only happens in about 1% of the shots and a quicker trigger squeeze definitely addresses the problem. What others should know:The CP99 compact is excellent value for the money. It's a very high quality pistol with a hefty feel (in my opinion, it feels much better than the more expensive CP99, which I know is more accurate but lacks the blowback mechanism). Overall, highly highly recommended.

The blowback action, The slide catch when the magazine empties, the safety is just fine and rear red dot indicator are a nice feature, the power for a blowback, smoothbore BB pistol is much more than I expected. The accuracy is nothing special, normal is how I would describe the accuracy. The rail fits most of my accessories, trigger pull is excellent. The heavy plastic and metal construction are of good quality. the power is what stands out most. Uses a little more CO2 than the average BB pistol, but thats to be expected with the blowback action. Things I would have changed:The way CO2 is loaded is not that bad, but could use some improvement. Outside of that, nothing more. What others should know: As with any BB pistol, this one is very, very, very sensitive to cooler temps. It may misfire, BBs may roll out the end of the barrel when you pull the trigger, the blowback will not work. I thought my pistol was defective, but after further investigation, i used it in an environment temp over 60degrees and it worked perfect! Uses the CO2, so get plenty.

Things I would have changed:No interchangeable back-straps like the CP99 (pellet pistol edition). Slide has a tiny bit of play and moves a little left/right and up and down. Slightly tighter tolerances would make it feel a bit more "real." What others should know:Lots of fun. I just unboxed mine and immediately put 200 rounds through it. Even in a fairly cool garage (64 or so), got about 85-90 shots on one CO2 powerlet, with a bit of coaxing (let the gun warm between rapid bursts).
A couple of points: some have reported that the ejection port in the slide is closed molded shut. Not on my gun: it's open and provides a clear view of the chamber (which the tip of the magazine occupies when the gun is loaded). Also, the mag release is a bit touchy and different from the push button design on many sidearms. It takes getting used to: a quick press-and-release is required to get the mag to drop free (if you leave the lever depressed the mag will stick after dropping about an inch).

But honestly,, its more noticable in the picture,, the CP99 no question,is overall Official..The only possible way this gun could be better is if it shot pellets too,, but still that would only be better if it shot pellets with an 18 shot rotary clip or something...(havent seen anything like that for a pellet gun yet) What others should know:Just get extra clips,, thats bout it.. A box of like 25 C02's and i think the zinc bb's are recommended... oh Also, I'd recommend getting the laser 4 this gun too...

I fired about 70 shots with one CO 2 cartridge and that is about 4 17 round clips. I also noticed that the gun will let you know when the CO2 is almost empty because it will stop firing and the recoil will not happen. Maybe make the slot on the slide for the slide catch a little deeper, even just .005" to .010", because after about 400-500 rounds, it starts to wear down a little and the slide doesn't catch as well as it did, nothing that a file can't fix thought. What others should know:Get LOTS of C02... this gun is a C02 sponge... obviously due to the blow back, but it is well worth it.

Overall, it is a very realistic pistol to shoot. Things I would have changed:the sights could be l a little better. the front is just a black blade sight with no white or green dot, while the back is a very loose unajustabe notch sight. Also, its not the most accurate pistol out past 20 meters, and when you cock the slide, you don't feel the little resistance when the cartridge pops up into the chamber on the real P99. What others should know:I work for an inner city security company, and I bought this gun so I could train to use the P99-9mm, and not have to take the real one down to the range for target practice. When I bought it, I thought I was just buying a fairly cheap training gun. But I was wrong! this thing is beautiful in the way that it shoots and preforms. It is definately a steal at $75! I would highly reccomend this pistol to anyone looking for a high quality airpistol, and to anyone looking for a good training gun.

If the safety is on and trigger is pulled bb will roll out barrel, but without pressure.

Things I liked:This gun is awesome. It shot around 200+ shots with one co2 cylinder. It let me know when it ran low on gas the slide didn't cock the gun all the way so I tossed out the cylinder. It feels real and is heavy. When firing the gun slide action and the heavy design makes it feel like the real thing. Things I would have changed:nothing What

The slid is all metal, and most of the internal parts are too. The grip is plastic but it doesn't feel bad like normal plastic. The blowback is so much fun, I could have just as much fun shooting with no bb's! I get about 6 clips of 19bbs per cartridge in 80F weather. Very fun gun and sturdily built and nice price!

Things I liked:Blowback action is realistic. Weight and accuracy is top notch. Things I would have changed:I would make the rear sight adjustable. What others should know:This airgun is very addictive, so be careful.

What others should know:The review below states that the slide does not move completely rearward during the firing cycle. This is simply not true. For proof that you can SEE watch the video of this gun here on Pyramid. You can see the slide extend FULLY REARWARD during the firing cycle, just like a real gun does. You can even pause the video, or use your mouse to scroll through the video in slow motion. The video does not lie. It is true that the slide locks a bit forward of where a real gun does when the clip is empty, but this is NOT because the slide isn't cycling fully to the rear. It is just a design difference between the CO2 version and "real steel" version. Wather's CO2 BB firing PPK/S acts the same way. The slide cycles fully to the rear during firing, but does lock forward a bit after the clip is empty. There are numerous videos available on the internet that confirm this as well.

Things I liked: I do like that it is heavy and has a metal slide. The look and feel is like a real gun. Magazine capacity is also a plus. Things I would have changed: I would like to see a positive 375-400fps. I'm sure it only shoots a 300 or less. And the slide should cycle all the way back every shot, and lock back at its farthest

Things I would have changed: I would like to see a positive 375-400fps. I'm sure it only shoots a 300 or less. And the slide should cycle all the way back every shot, and lock back at its farthest point on empty.(see below) What others should know: This gun is ok to shoot and have some fun with, but if you want something more accurate, go with a gamo or even a crossman. This gun is closer to the real deal but it shoots funny. It lacks power except for the first two mags, then you have to make sure you pull the trigger briskly and fully or a bb will run out of the barrel if you try to two stage it. The slide does not really move that far when you fire the pistol, nor when it locks back upon empting the mag. Sure you can pull it all the way back but it does not look or feel real because of this design error. In a real gun, the slide moves back all the way so an empty cartridge can eject from the chamber. That means that the faux ejection port on the bb version should line up with the grip of the gun EVERY TIME IT CYCLES. Like the real thing, but it does not.....not even close. Fun gun but it should not cost as much as it does.

Things I liked:It has an awesome grip, the trigger is OK, the blowback is amazing. The magazine even has a follower that will activate the slide stop after the last shot and will prevent the user from firing until a loaded magazine is inserted -- it doesn't get any more realistic than that. Things I would have changed:The safety

Things I would have changed:The safety is difficult to take off, but it is very easy to activate. Many would complain about this but I think it makes sense. What others should know:The gun is awesome! I currently have a desert eagle and a cp88 but this is the one everyone wants to shoot. It may not be as accurate as a pellet gun but the realism more than makes up for it.

Things I liked:Now this is a perfect weapon! Its got a realistic weight, great durability, and a wonderful feel, its got a great kick, it might not have as much power as other weapons, but because of the blow back you really feel all of its power.
