    Things I liked:

Easy to cock, great trigger, and amazing accuracy.

    Things I would have changed:

    Not a thing.

    What others should know:

This little pistol is extremely accurate at moderate ranges and doesn't seem to be pellet-fussy whatsoever. It fires with a pleasant "crack" and has no notable recoil. I've chronied mine at 432fps (muzzle velocity) with RWS Basic wadcutters. Lovin'it.

    Things I liked:

Price point Accuracy Decent trigger 11mm rail for accessories (in my case an old millet red dot)

    Things I would have changed:

Better access to barrel both in terms for loading pellets and being able to run a cleaning rod or bore snake from Breech. I carefully used a drill bit to grind away just enough material from the cocking lever area just above the hammer to allow access for a quick swipe of a bore snake every so often. Also the hammer spring is pretty weak and/or there is an alignment issue with the locking pin necessitating some care to ensure that when the cocking lever is closed it locks. On occasion it will pop up when fired because the hammer fails to engage correctly to lock it down.

    What others should know:

I was surprised at the effort it takes to cock and lock the gun. I have a P1 and it is a toss up which is more difficult. The P1 force is during opening and the P17 is while closing. It is my first pneumatic so I didnt know that till I got it. I built a cocking station for the P17 and that works very well. Also the millet red dot is solid on the P17 and holds POA admirably, something I couldnt get that old millet to do on the P1. I like both guns for different reasons, they are completely different from each other in terms of how they need to be gripped and shot successfully. Both are accurate and perfect for the little 5 yard range I have in my basement, at this range daisy and H&N Excite wad cutters work perfectly and are the most cost effective ammo I need to achieve the end result of FUN.

    Things I liked:

Grip is good in hand, trigger is acceptable, sight adjustments quite adequate. Low noise and recoil; it will make a good patio plinker.

    Things I would have changed:

Overall feel of the build seems ok, but time will tell how the pins and latch hold up. I would not expect an extended use cycle at this pricepoint.

    What others should know:

I am pleased with the product. A bit fiddley to load, especially with tight fitting pellets. Pointed ammo might make starting alignment easier.

    Things I liked:

Cheap and accurate on my 10M two-man indoor range. Decent trigger, nice balance. You can't find too many pistols this accurate for under $50. This is actually my second P17. I put a BSA red dot on it, set it for 10M, and WOW crazy accurate!

    Things I would have changed:

The reason why it's my second P17 is because my first didn't last for long. Did the recommended maintenance and lube, but it still died. Pulled it apart to attempt repairs and corrections, but still not working. Will try some other things on it.

    What others should know:

Be careful when doing pump closure! If you get part of your palm between the top and bottom of the pistol....OUCH! That's why I put a BSA red dot on it. Keeps you from getting palm pinches.

    Things I liked:

Its extremely accurate and consistent. I shot at 15 yards and had a dime size grouping. Its very quite.

    Things I would have changed:

For $50 its worth it. Hard to cock but thats to be expected.

    What others should know:

I easily adjusted the sites to work for me. Im impressed

    Things I liked:

What's not to like. Strong build. Accurate is not strong enough of a word. If you're a fly on the wall at 20 feet your dead. You miss it's you not the P17.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    What others should know:

    Things I liked:

The Beeman 17. There is nothing bad to say. This pistol is a Joy to shoot. If you want to hit a fly on the wall 20 feet away. Do so. If you miss it's because of you not the P17.

    Things I would have changed:

    My opinion. Nothing.

    What others should know:

    Great purchase for the price.

    Things I liked:

Easy to shoot, accurate and quiet enough for a urban setting!

    Things I would have changed:

Much easier method of pellet loading gun cocking!, as present method is difficult! I have purchased a dozen of these guns as gifts! Iron sights are accurate and easy to adjust! Put a 10 shot clip incorporated into this gun and do a side lever for cocking this gun. Charge $100.09 more and it still would be worth it. I have a Browning pellet pistol as well as a Benjamin NP Trail, and both are so much louder!!!

    Things I liked:

I've been shooting this offhand at about 15-20 feet for now. It's definitely more accurate than I am, and shoots very nicely. The trigger is probably nicer in the P3, but I really like the pull/break on this one.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

It's nearly 2lbs in weight, and heavier than a C02 pistol casting roughly the same. I think the weight helps with stability.

    Things I liked:

Simple and easy to operate. Extreamly accurate. Keeps nickel size groups from rest at 10 meters. with the factory sights. The one I got likes Falcon 7.33 grain 4.52mm the best with highest power of 424 fps. Beeman has always made great reproductions of the HW air guns for great price. This is a copy of HW40. that can cost 9-10 times more. The german design is excellent!!! Can load it for just one shot, shoot and set aside.

    Things I would have changed:

For the price not much. A little more room at breach for loading pellets would be nice.

    What others should know:

Don't discount this Air gun as cheep. For less than $10.00 the Storehouse 397 piece O-ring assortment from harbor freight has the #116 o-ring you get 14 total. This is the exsact o-ring needed in keeping this baby at full power. Some Molly grease and silicone chamber oil and your good. Now about power.... I have some very brave rats raiding my bird seed feeders in full daylight. 15 feet from my window that now has special little door for my rested aim. Unless I hit them between the eyes the pellet goes through the skull embeding in the wood of the feeder. 11 total in rat heaven so far. love this air pistol!!

    Things I liked:

Accurate with excellent sights and easy to cock. Outside the sights nothing fancy going on here but, cock and load and hit whatever you are aiming at. I have yet to find a gun as accurate at even twice the cost. Great pop for the buck.

    Things I would have changed:

Not a thing, you get fiber optic sights on a gun for less than the cost of a new set of fiber optics.

    Things I liked:

Weight is good, not too heavy, not too light. I like the sights, very visible. Shooting free hand and still sighting it in. Unfortunately, I'm not as steady as I was when younger. Cocking and pellet loading seems to be where most peoples concerns lie. I was concerned about the cocking effort myself. Cocking is not effortless, but it shouldn't be an obstacle. I cocks nice and smooth, with a little bit of effort at the end. Loading the pellets, I found to not be an issue after loading two to three pellets. of course I don't have big sausage fingers, but I found that there is plenty of room and once you've loaded a couple, there shouldn't be any problem. I'm happy with my purchase so far. Gun seems to be accurate, but definately needed to be sight adjusted. Power appears to be sufficient to bury the pellet into the wood of a pallet at 15 - 20 feet. Gun is definately quiet, pellet hitting the wood is louder than the gun report.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing seems to be out of whack at this point and loading the pellets wasn't as difficult as some reviews led me to believe. Some little effort is required to cock the gun, but I figured if I could do it, it ain't that bad. Could become tiring over a prolonged shooting period.

    What others should know:

At first flush, everything seems to be working as it should. Only put ten shoots through to check operation and try out the two types of pellets I got. I haven't taken this apart yet, which was my first intention. Seems to be working well, so I'll see how it works out over the next couple of weeks before performing surgery. So far, very happy with my purchase. Fedex is a terrible carrier, however. Despite that, it got here within 3 weeks.

    Excellent trigger! Accurate!

    Things I would have changed:

    Really nothing.

    What others should know:

Best $40 I ever spent! Well worth it! Because it is made in China, I watched online videos on how to remove sloppy manufacturing (i.e. removing burrs, etc), did everything they said to do, and have had no trouble with the gun! My big fingers make it hard to load the pellets in the space provided, so I use a pair of tweezers to get the pellet started and then just fully seat it with my fingertip. Have used it for at least 3 years now.

    Things I liked:

This is a really nice airgun for the price. Easy for me to pump, very accurate, surprisingly smooth trigger for its price range. I was really impressed with it.

    Things I would have changed:

I find the automatic safety a bit awkward, but I am sure lawyers wouldn't want that changed.

    What others should know:

This pistol is not good for darts. At regulation range it will bury the dart in the board well past the tip.

    Things I liked:

This is a 7 year follow-up. Thousands of rounds and still as accurate as when new. I opened up the gun and smoothed out the air intake hole on the cylinder. Added some silicon lube on the piston ring and the rest is history. A small drop of Pellgun oil on the breech seal and into the port when opening the action and this gun will just keep on putting pellets through the same hole.

    Things I would have changed:

Recent reviews seem to indicated the burr at the air intake issue has been addressed.

    What others should know:

I added a dovetail to Weaver rail with a the loop side of a Velcro strip which extend over the rear sight.to increase the leverage when closing the over-lever. Really reduces the cocking effort and protects your hand from the sharp edges of the dovetail and rear sight. Red dot is in from of the adapter.

    Things I liked:

Sights and grip. No Co2 cartridges. Price can't be beat for the product you receive. Outstanding value. PA packs their products very well. Packs pellets like they were nitroglycerin.

    Things I would have changed:

Reduce size a little. The sights, while nice with excellent visibility, are just too large. Chamber in .22 cal. if a respectable velocity can be maintained.

    What others should know:

Made in China. Cocking is stout so be careful closing the slide. Not a complaint, just be aware of this. If you haven't owned a .177 cal. air gun, which I hadn't, prepare to do a lot of squinting as you attempt to load pellets. Barrel placement and slide design doesn't make them easy to load either. Even with these quirks, I consider this a good buy and well worth it's price. I read that the cylinder is easily rebuilt using common O-rings from most hardware stores. If true, that's good to know if the need arises to rebuild the gun. Simple is good!

    Things I liked:

Were too start, its a amazing plinker for the accuracy and build quality also power it puts out. I use the excite pointed 8gr pellets it really likes these, they execute perfect out of this pistol. Best Buy for the price, I have seen this so many times passed it up because I thought it might be weak because of price and low and behold its one of the best plinker in my collection.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

Its takes a little to get used to cocking it for it has some effort for that and beware how close you cock it towards your shirt it can catch it and bite a hole in it lol and make sure its closed down because the top will flip up with some serious force and if your hand is in the way well its gonna hurt.

    Things I liked:

For under $50 I think this is one of the best deals out there. I'm retired, a veteran(USMC), and firearms enthusiast. The closest gun range to me is an hour away. I can shoot this Beaman P17 indoors or outdoors at my house and not disturb anyone, while working on site alignment and trigger control. Additionally the safety on the Beeman is common to a 1911 that I have a bedside companion. I like that I don't have to buy CO2 cartridges(though I plan to eventually purchase a Single Action Pellet Revolver that uses CO2(who else but Pyramyd Air...:)) because I can see how one of those will help me develop speed in loading and unloading a couple of single only firearms(revolver, derringer) I have been blessed with.

    Things I would have changed:

I know other reviewers have complained about how difficult it is to cock this pellet pistol. I'm a Marine, I see this an opportunity to develop techniques that will allow me safely and more easily close the action. I can see how others might see this is as a negative, but not me.

    What others should know:

I looked at many different pellet pistols before I bought this Beeman P17. If you're a firearms enthusiast like myself who's owned and shot many different semi automatic handguns you can't go wrong with this purchase. Marksmanship takes patience and lots of practice. You can't "spray and pray"(shoot a bunch of rounds quickly with this pellet pistol) and that's a good thing in my view. I like this Beeman so much, I am seriously considering buying the more expensive version(s) and using the P17 to train others.
