    Things I liked:

lever to pump it is soooo soft not much power is needed to pump very accurate nice shiny wood stock and easy to load pellets slides just in perfectly

    Things I would have changed:

the bolt on it kind of moves back and forth when pumping the rifle the lever is also kind of some cheapy plastic

    What others should know:

good accuracy gun for hunting birds, rabbits and squirrel have never seen anything this cheap of price for such a good quality of gun

    Things I would have changed:

    THE RECEIVER !!!!

    What others should know:

This would be a nice rifle if you could push a pellet in it . I have a big problem with getting pellets in to the barrel . It seems dome shaped pellets work best , but still stick on the receiver . It's bad when you need to take a second shot and can't seat the pellet . For this reason I gave this rifle the rating I did ...

    Things I liked:

Best value for the money. Wood Stock, Scope, Looks and weight are perfect. In fact I bought a second 22 SG so when friends come over we can have a friendly competition. Great gun and always great service from Pyramyd Air.

    Things I would have changed:

The pump I guess would be a bit nicer if it was all metal as with the breach but I have shot about 1000 rounds with out any issues. The staining finish on the wood looks a tad to machine like but still it is wood.

    What others should know:

RWS hollow points are very easy to load the RWS super points have a bit more length and require a little more care to load. Accuracy is great at 10 yards drops off a bit after 15 yards (with a 2 inch diameter).

    Things I liked:

I love the hardwood stock and forearms and metal receiver. It is very accurate. It's a very nice looking rifle. Perfect weight.

    Things I would have changed:

Put a metal pumping handle and metal bolt instead of plastic . I would prefer it did not include a scope so it could be cheaper in price. The scope is very accurate and the image is so crystal clear and sharp but I don't like this scope for this rifle. It looks so big and out of place to me. I use the little 3x7x20 and 4x15 Daisy scopes. Though not as good as the 4x32 supplied with this rifle but they look and feel better to me. After all I only target-shoot indoors at 10 yards.

    What others should know:

Some people complain that it is hard to load pellets, but it is not. Just drop the pellet in the breech and with your finger or even your fingernail try to accommodate the pellet past the lip in the breech and the bolt will close very easily and effortlessly. I also used a small screwdriver at first to settle the pellet past the lip and it also worked. Some people drop the pellet in the breech and point the rifle to the floor and kind of shake the rifle a little and the pellet falls itself in place. But don't force the bolt or you may break it, remember that it is plastic. This rifle is basically a Daisy 880 in 22 caliber. The inner parts are the same except the bigger shot tube and the metal receiver and wood parts outside..

    Things I liked:

the wood stock. it is very quiet. and it is easy to pump

    Things I would have changed:

just a bit hard to get the pellet in there.

    What others should know:

ok, i ordered this gun along with some recomended pellets and when i got the gun and took it out of the box i put the 22 caliber pellet in the loading port but when i tried to shut the bolt it would not shut. i was really mad so i found some 177 caliber pellets around and tried them in there. they fit loose but it shot it.when i tried to sight in the scope it would not sight in so i just took it off and did not put it back on there. when i went in the woods to hunt some squrrils i put the 177 cal. in there and walked around to find them and i held the gun to my side downward i stopped aimed at the squrrel (25 yards away)shot and noticed the squrrel just ran away and by the sound i knew that there was nothing in there so i put another pellet in there held the gun down and the pellet fell out and i know that is not supposed to happen. so i think that the reason i could not sight in the scope was because the pellets where to small so they wabbled around when i shot so i know that 177 does not fit and the 22 does not fit so im thinking about trying the 20 cal wat do yall think. please help.

    Things I liked:

Just picked up the 22 SG a week ago and must say it exceeded my expectations! First off the rifle has a nice wood stock and forend along with a metal reciever, easy pumping, great accuracy, light weight, decent power and scope, and low noise. Shooting rws super hollow point pellets it will shoot tight 5 shot groups at 20 yards over and over! With 8 pumps i got a high of 537fps with an average of 516fps for 10 shots. I wasnt able to test it at 10 pumps yet but im 100% sure it will have no problem hitting the advertised 550fps or more! It is great for hunting out to 30 yards with ease. Overall a solid choice and nothing can match it for the money!

    Things I would have changed:

An anodized aluminum pump handle would be a great addition along with a metal bolt. More power also would be great as well, but i guess you cant have it all :( I noticed certain pellets are hard to chamber in the bore. The head of the pellet gets hung up and you have to force it in. It will only happen with certain hollow points and flat heads. Pointed, domed, or domed hollow point pellets feed perfectly smooth.

    What others should know:

A nice little mod ive done to it was cut down the front sight even with the barrel sleeve and added a beeman ported muzzle brake .568" ID. DO NOT remove the front sight all together as it holds the inner barrel centered with the sleeve and supports it! Just cut down the top part of the sight even with the sleeve and thats all. Rifle looks awesome with the brake on it!

    Things I liked:

Excellent quality! Wood forend and stock, metal reciever and many other metal parts. Any plastic is of top notch quality and cant see it breaking. Scope def exceeded my expectations! Didnt think it would hold a zero and be clear but it is.

    Things I would have changed:

Would like a cheek piece on the stock, would be nice if all the plastic parts would also be metal just for piece of mind, easy removel of the front and rear sight. More velocity would be nice but it does have power, Muzzle break for looks instead of the front sight.

    What others should know:

I put about 150 pellets through the rifle today. Im using RWS super hollow point pellets which are 14.3gr. They group absolutey perfect. At 20 yards this gun will shoot as good as you can. No flyers and will put pellet on pellet all day long! On 8 pumps mine shot a high of 537fps with an average 10 shot string of 516fps. Pyramyd air did the 10 for 10 test for me and they used 8 pumps. Would of loved to see what it can do on 10 pumps but i highly recommend spending the 10 bux. The scope it comes with is actually pretty clear and is easy to sight and so far is holding its zero. I will upgrade it sooner or later but it does very well. Overall im very pleased with the 22sg and for the money you cant go wrong. I had a few beeman springers but they where very hold sensitive so couldnt get them to group for nothing. With the 22 sg just aim and it goes right where you want it!

    Things I liked:

I like formost the lack of recoil. I also own a spring operated European style that recoils enough to jar just a little, perhaps enough to misadjust the scope. I like the adjustability of the power and the gun's light weight. Accuracy seems good; however, I have not shot this gun outside yet at 15 yard distances.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger seems a little stiff and the feed mechanism for the Daisy pointed pellet is not very smooth. I am hoping the pellet is not being distorted.

    What others should know:

I just got the gun and already prefer it over a heavier, spring-loaded .177 caliber. It was a good buy for me.

    Things I liked:

This is a great air rifle for the price... I prefer the pneumatic, variable pump, to a break-barrel because I can easily adjust for the distance of the varmints I'm after. I can hit a nickel grouping consistantly @ 25yds with 8 pumps

    Things I would have changed:

The only things I changed are: 1) I replaced the scope that came with it with a Barska ($26.95) 3-9x50, 2) replaced the front sight with the Beeman Ported Muzzlebrake (0,568 ID) $21.95, it fits perfectly, 3) sanded down the stock, smoothing it up and refinished with a dark walnut stain. Now this rifle looks and feels the way it should...

    What others should know:

This is a great gun at a great price.... don't let it get away from you!!

    Things I liked:

I purchased this gun for my son's 12th birthday. It's solidly built, very accurate and has plenty of power. The 22 SG is extremely easy to pump, is quiet and packs a nice punch up to about 50 yards. Unlike most guns in this price range the scope is quite nice. Great field of vision and clarity. Sighted it in at 25 yards and we consistently achieve 1" groupings. The wood stock and rifled barrel are worth the extra money over say a Crosman 760 or entry level Beeman. The more we shoot it, the more we prefer the 22 caliber over a 177. Big holes and nice knockdown power. The overall quality, accuracy, weight and size (13 1/2" reach from butt to trigger) make it an ideal rifle for a youngster moving up from a BB gun. It's pretty dang fun for Dad too! I spent a good amount of time reading reviews and researching guns in this price and performance level. I did not run across anything else with nearly as much overall high praise. Buy with confidence and enjoy!

    Things I would have changed:

Like everyone else reviewing this gun, I would prefer a metal pump lever. Still, it seems to function well and has not given any indication it will not last.

    What others should know:

Count on the stock being loose when you receive it. Ours was and apparently that's a very common problem. Even so, it's an easy fix if you have a 10" socket extension and a 13mm socket. Like others have said be careful not to overtighten it and note it would be difficult if you do not have these tools. Also, the bolt action is sticky at first but that seems to be improving with use. This particular gun does not like the cheap Daisy lead pellets like some reveiwers but does great with RWS hobbies. While the rifle is sized for a young shooter it is not a toy! Recommend spending some time with your shooter making sure they understand the rifle's capabilities.

    Things I liked:

Wood stock, metal receiver, easy to pump, and VERY ACCURATE!!!! It pumps so easily that it feels like the piston seal is worn out. Every time I shoot it, I have to remind myself that it's not broken, because it doesn't feel like it's compressing any air. Lots of fun to shoot, and easy to shoot all day long. My wife likes shooting this one because it's so accurate and so easy to pump. Mine really likes the cheap Daisy wadcutter pellets, which is a big bonus.

    Things I would have changed:

    More power would be nice

    What others should know:

It's not as powerful as a Benjamin 392, nor quite as solidly built, though it is very well made.. That said, it's just as accurate as my 392 and a LOT easier to pump. IF your buttstock is a little loose, as mine was from the factory, you can remove the buttplate and tighten the bolt inside the butt that attaches it to the receiver. Be careful not to overtighten it, as you could crack the receiver.

Nice price for a .22 multi pump. Wood stock is nicely finished. Scope works well with fair field of view. Pellets are easy to load.

    Things I would have changed:

Metal reciever &/or metal scope rail.

    What others should know:

Purchased 5 months ago from Pyramyd & very pleased. Makes nice BIG holes in my cardboard targets & pellets imbed nicely into the 1/2 plywood backstop @ 40yrds. 1" groupings with Daisy pellets, pointed & flat.

    Things I liked:

Great gun for the price. Got gun to whack some squirrels at fairly close range. Pump has little to now recoil so it is easy to shoot. Gun is quiet for use in city. Number of pumps seems to make little difference in noise level.

    Things I would have changed:

For shooting squirrels close I wonder if a peep sight wouldn't do better than the scope. Because the scope is 2 inches above the barrel, shooting at various distances is hard for a novice.

    What others should know:

(1)BB's wonderful blog entry on gun!! https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2005/9/daisy-22sg/ (2) Agree scope isn't wonderful, had to add tape to mounts to better center scope, and had to mount thumbscrews of rings on different sides. (3) Realized that the "V" in the front scope mount made a dandy rear sight with front sight for close in shooting. (4) Receiver has a sharp edge where pellets are loaded into chamber. Sharp edged pellets like Beeman Silver Bear are hard (but not impossible) to load. (5) Shooting into water seems to have shown than gun doesn't have enough power to use hollow point pellets effectively. Use "pure" lead domed pellet instead. better ballistic coefficient, and soft lead will deform on contact. (6) I'm using 8 pumps for target practice, but plan on using 15 on the few shots I actually take at squirrels for a little extra power.

    Things I liked:

I just got around to test firing my new Daisy 22SG today. As most reviewers agree, it is very easy to pump. The last pump seems no harder than the second or third. Accurate? You bet. I had trouble counting shots because at 15 feet several of my shots went into the same hole. This was with open sights. I like the fiber-optic front sight and will hold off mounting a scope. A word about Pyramyd's customer service: This is my second Daisy 22SG. The first one worked for three shots and then something inside blew out, maybe a seal - who knows- and velocities dropped way down. I phoned Pyramyd and described the problem. The nice young lady who took my call immediately offered to send me a paid return shipping label and mail me a new rifle upon receipt of mine. A week later I received the new rifle described here. That is unbeatable customer service!

    Things I would have changed:

Enlarging the loading ramp might help. Hollowpoint and flathead pellets seem to want to tumble onto their sides or go in backwards. Another 50 FPS would be an improvement if it would not be harder to pump.

    What others should know:

Here are my chronograph readings for Crosman HPs (14.3 gr) taken at 15 feet indoors, temp. 66 degrees F. The first figure is number of pumps, the second is the fps velocity: 3-360; 4-414; 5-455; 6-482; 7-502; 8-516; 9-520; 10-531. For RWS Hobby pellets (11.9 gr) the figures are: 5-418; 8-541; 10-560. Not bad for an easy pumping, very accurate rifle. Buy one from Pyramyd. You'll enjoy shooting it.

    Things I liked:

light weight,price,accuracy,.22 caliber, steel receiver, scope(call daisy if you can't focus it),wood stock, variable power. This makes for a great starter rifle for anyone looking to target shoot and eventually hunt. Plus the .22 cal round is easier to handle and not that much more expensive of a round. Get this multi-pump before they disappear. Great solid accurate rifle for the money.

    Things I would have changed:

More power, not that this rifle won't do the job at ten pumps. 750 FPS would be nice. Offer it without a scope so that I can put the fine leepers 4 X 32 on it. Offer the .22SG in the Daisy 901 configuration and call it a ??? 902 of course!

    What others should know:

Get one of these while you still can,Daisy is discontinuing the model. Hey guys and gals send Daisy an email and request a .22 CAL MULTI-PUMP in the 901 configuration. Buy a spare the way these manufacturers are treating the .22 cal. it just might be your last chance.

Price. This is a good gun for the money. It is light weight, and has an easy pumping effort even for smaller people. My 8 year old son can pump it up. It is very accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

An update to my previous review. The stock is not held in place like the 880 as I thought, but has a bolt going though it that threads into a steel plate inside the receiver. Sorry about the misinformation. I tighened up the bolt, and the rifle is tight and solid now. I'm bumping up my overall rating to 5 stars.
