Outstanding scope. Everything I expected and more. I have it mounted to a Beeman R7 and use it as a scope and spotting scope at 10x.
Things I would have changed:Adjustment ring on objective lens for parallax distance is a little tight, but hopefully will lighten up with use. Not a concern.
What others should know:Fits perfectly with Leapers medium mounts. I had to notch the front dust cover for it to fit between the scope and barrel. Download the free software from Hawke to calculate the ballistics for the dots in the reticle. Pretty neat program.

Nice and clear image. Mildots are great.
Things I would have changed:Durability for springers. This will break.
What others should know:My Beeman RX2 ate this for breakfast. DO NOT BUY if you are using for a hard hitting gun because you will be returning it.

Bright, clear lenses, floating reticle, semi target knobs. This is one of the best scopes I've used on any gun. It's not a Zeiss, Meopta, Swarovski, but it's a darn good clear well built scope. You could spend considerably more and not get anything close to this good. I've used cheap scopes and they are always loosing their zero, fuzzy lenses, whatever, but for just a few more dollars this thing is phenomenal. I can't think of a single thing I would change.
Things I would have changed:Some have griped about the reticle getting lost in heavy cover, and it's true. But that's a tradeoff you make for having a reticle that is fine enough for pellet rifles while still being as visible as possible. If you are going to hunt in low light, then you really should get a lighted reticle scope. But for general shooting and hunting, this is the cat's arse. I don't have much trouble in low light, but I don't use it much then either. I like a scope that doesn't cover a lot of the target and this one fills the bill nicely.
What others should know:Mounting options are a bit narrow, but more or less the same for all scopes in this size range. My Daystate feeds from a clip, so that makes mounting a little bit of a challenge, but it's easily worked out, so beware it needs to either be pretty high or narrow rings to get you where the adjustment turret bulge under the scope doesn't interfere with the clip. I would say this is pretty much the same with all cip fed rifles with all scopes in this magnification range. If you go to a way longer scope, you're good to go. Also, I had a problem with one of my used Hawke scopes, looked like some dirt broke loose inside the scope and got all over the lenses. Hawke was SUPER about replacing it pronto. It was one of the easiest replacements ever, they are a super outfit to deal with. I'll be a permanent customer.

I like this scope. I have several air guns and I keep finding this scope preferable compared to others. Good clear picture, and reticle.
Things I would have changed:I think it is a little pricey for an air gun scope but i guess it depends on if you want it to work and last.

Great scope for the money. Very clear, nice reticle. It's a fine reticle, which works well for target shooting, but I also have no problems finding it when dealing with pets. Keep in mind not all 40mm objectives are equal. This one has a very nice field of view at any magnification. AO seems pretty accurate. Has held zero through about 500 shots on an HW98, very accurate. Good eye relief, no problem using regular 2 piece mounts.
Things I would have changed:Would prefer a different style caps than bikini, but not a deal breaker.
What others should know:You get what you pay for, the right scope makes shooting a lot more comfortable and easy.

I like the glass
Things I would have changed:The directions for sighting in should include 2 examples. Example 3 shots fired and the impact is 3 inches left and 2 inches high. To correct this do the following:

I've got this scope on a Weihrauch HW50s and I'm very please with it. The glass is clear, magnification and objective adjustment is smooth and properly weighted. Turret adjustments are clear and consistent. The AMX reticle is very well designed.
Things I would have changed:Maybe add a little more thickness to the reticle to help it stand out against dark, brushy backgrounds. At this price, an illuminated reticle would be nice.
What others should know:Great scope, worth the cost.

Lots of elevation and windage adjustments.
Things I would have changed:I discovered while mounting and testing the scope that it is NOT as advertise, which is each click is 0.25-inch MOA, meaning 4 clicks moves the shots 1-in at 100 yards. After mounting this scope onto my FWB Sport, I shot a group which landed 6.375-inch to my right at 24 yards. I made 96 clicks of Windage adjustment. 96 clicks / 6.375 inch = 15.059 clicks per inch at 24 yards 100 yards / 24 yards = 4.166 15.059 clicks per inch 4.166 = 3.61 click per inch at 100 yards. It is not 4 clicks to move 1 inch at 100 yards; it needs 3.61 clicks which this scope cannot make.
What others should know:My old Bushnell Elite 3200 is much more precise than this Hawke scope. It is exactly 0.25 inch MOA per click and it is precise to the hundredth place, 4.00. Elite 3200 48 clicks move the shot 2.875-inch at 24 yards. 48 clicks / 2.875 = 16.696 clicks per inch at 24 yards 100 yards / 24 yards = 4.166 16.696 clicks per inch/ 4.166 = 4.00 click per inch at 100 yards. I guess you get what you pay for. Readers, please feel free to check my math. I may did it wrong.

I bought this scope for an hw95 .22 and 3-9x40 one for my RWS mod 34 .22 . these both replaced utg 3-9x40 true hunters . The glass is super clear and the AMX reticle is amazing . So far both are holding up to the pounding , the utg lasted a year before consistantly losing zero . with these new airmax scopes time will tell . They will get worked hard .
Things I would have changed:Nothing but the price .
What others should know:THis scope and the other airmax are 1in. tubes . Been learning the hard way on my airgun expiriance . If you want to avoid the expenses get scopes 30 mm. size tubing for springer to begun with both utg and hawke should do well in 30mm. size .

I guess it is ok for a pellet rifle.
Things I would have changed:The eye relief, though it long enough, it has a very short focal distance.
What others should know:The windage and elevation clicks are a bit light. The sight picture is not very good, When trying to set the objective for parallax the whole sight picture moves around. Also the eye relief is very sensitive- short window. I shoot some brand name scopes, For this amount of money i am kind of disappointed.
