  • Sean from USA asked:

Will this scope mount easily, as in no need for new rings or rails, onto a Benjamin Summit NP2

    • Chevota from USA answered:

Yes it will mount easily on that gun, but it's meant for a firearm since it's parallax is set to 100yrds. You should either get one with adjustable parallax or adjust this one to a closer more realistic range. Parallax is a kinda funky and complex thing so I can't really describe it here, but bottom line is it can throw your accuracy off big time. This scope as-is will certainly be off, and at 9x it'll no doubt be blurry too. I'd suggest getting an AO (adjustable objective) which basically handles parallax issues the same way the rear eye piece handles focus. Speaking of that, did your gun come with a 3-9x32 or 3-9x40AO? The 32mm parallax is set to 100 feet, the 40 is AO. So if you bought this scope you could adjust it to 100 feet or whatever you like and you may be just fine, it all depends on what you consider acceptable. If you now have the 40mm then set it 100yrds and 9x and you'll see what I mean about parallax and focus. A 40mm is more than enough lens imo, so maybe something like the Centerpoint 4-16x40AO (inexpensive but very good value imo) would be better? The UTG 3-12x44AO (PY-A-3493) is more $ but the next step up in price and value. It has the parallax adj on the side which is uber cool and you will appreciate it if you hunt. If you still want this scope then you should be able to find how to adj it to a closer range online, if not I can help chevota at hotmail. Fyi some scopes have glue on the threads so adjustment may be close to impossible.

  • Ross from USA asked:

Can I sight it in at 20 or 30 yards?

    • Chevota from USA answered:

See my above answer to Sean. Basically yes, but you'd need to adjust it. I know it's a cool looking scope for cheap but is it really worth sacrificing AO for looks? Also know that the parallax free zone is like the in-focus zone, meaning every adjustment has a distance where it's perfect but outside that distance it gets worse. So if you focus a scope of any type to 100yrds it'll still work for say 60 to 500+yrds, more or less. If set to 5yrds then it may only be in focus between 4-6yrds, like if you've ever used a microscope you know the window for focus is more like 1/10000". So the closer you are the narrower your focus "window" is, and the same thing applies to parallax. So if parallax is set to 100yrds then it may be acceptable at 60yrds, but at 20yrds it'll be way off. Set it to 25yrds and it should be ok at 20-30 but that's subjective. A competition target shooter would say no way, Joe Blo will probably it's good to go.. Also, at the higher mag levels the focus goes out as well, so as-is ~6x and above will be useless at 20yrds until you adj the parallax. Btw the adj is done by moving the objective (front) lens out or forward by rotating the lens counterclockwise. It's attached to a threaded ring but has a lock "nut" ring in front of it. I can't say how much this scope needs to bring it to 25yrds, but I'd imagine 1 turn? Going to 10yrds would likely need closer to 3.

  • Hector from USA asked:

does this scope have adjustable objective?

    • oats from USA answered:

No it is set at a hundred yards.

What type of scope base is on your gun? What type of mount do you need? Weaver, Picatinny, 3/8″ or 11mm? Do you need 2-pc mounts or a 1-pc mount? 30mm or 1″? Scope mounts intro (Airgun Academy class)

Scope includes mount. Need a different mount?
