This scope has an etched-glass reticle, which is superior to a wire reticle because it's etched by a laser and is much more precise. That lets you get even more accuracy from your gun. Another way that etched-glass reticles are superior to wire reticles is when they're illuminated. The etched ones show the illumination only on the reticle. It looks like the reticle is floating. Wire reticles often have a reflection of the illumination in the objective lens, which can be distracting when shooting.

Hawke Sport Optics scopes have gained a reputation as having some of the finest optics available. From field target shooters to Grand Slam hunters, Hawke scopes are known for their clear, sharp, bright optics.

This scope is ideal for hunting at further distances. Besides mounting it on your air rifle, this riflescope can be used on any centerfire or rimfire gun. With 5 brightness settings in either red or green, you'll be able to see your mil-dot reticle against almost any background or animal. There are 11 aim points on each reticle axis, which will make it even easier to hit your target.

Things I liked: Nice illuminated Reticle. I really like the thin reticle (crosshairs) and the small mil-dots.

Things I would have changed: Upgrade the optics for better focus.

What others should know: I was disappointed in the focus. The optics just are not up to par. The focus was okay at 10 yards, but when I moved to just only 16 yards it became difficult to get my target into focus. When I shot at 40 yards the focus was okay. There seems to be a range of 15 yds to 20 yards where it is difficult to get a sharp focus. My BSA scopes have a much higer quality optics and BSA gives me easy and very sharp focus, regardless of distance. All of my future scope purchases will be BSA. I plan to buy a BSA scope and put this Hawke scope on my shelf for backup purposes only.

Things I liked: Built like an iron pipe. Pretty good optics, illuminated cross hairs, very usable zoom range, great for real-world field shooting and hunting.

Things I would have changed: Built like an iron pipe. This thing is heavy, like really surprisingly heavy for a scope with these compact dimensions. Illuminated reticle isn't quite bright enough to stand up to bright overcast. Zoom and objective adjustment rings are VERY stiff, I hope they loosen up with use... at least I know they won't move unless I want them to.

What others should know: A great scope for the money. At 4X-zoom my old leapers 4x32 AO is ever so slightly sharper, but the Hawke has better contrast. Edge sharpness starts to suffer beyond 5x, but center sharpness is good through the zoom range. You could probably bludgeon someone to death with this little scope, it's heavy and VERY solidly built.

Things I liked: Holds zero clear optics value for mony

Things I would have changed: Make resetting turrets

What others should know: Does not work well in low light but this is Normal for. 32 objective too small to allow enough light

Can this scope stand a rws 350 magnum .22

    • Charlie from USA:

My RWS 48 22 hasn't hurt it at all. I did shoot it off the rifle until I pinned the rings to the rail. The RWS48 kicks a scope like a mule

  • David from USA asked:

Does it withstand recoil of Gamo Bone Collector BUll Whisper IGT it already destroyed two of my UTG scopes

    • JimPysht from USA:

Scope hardiness not the question here. The Bone chamber-sheathing will not hold the mount.

    • Charlie from USA:

I have a few thousand rounds thru my 22Cal RWS 48 and its as good as new.

    • Dan the Man from USA:

Yes, it has an etched glass reticle.

  • JESSIE from USA asked:

Does this come with scope mounts and if so what hight off the gun.

    • Charlie from USA:

      no just the scope.

    • Erika from USA:

      No, mounts are not included
