Things I liked:Least expensive way to check up on the velocity of your air guns (or other guns, archery equipment, etc). It simply works and works well, without a bunch of frills. Things I would have changed: What others should know:I had an original Chrony F1 many years ago, back when they were painted red and had cardboard stands on each end. It worked flawlessly for years, but I messed up one day while testing a .243 rifle and blew it apart. The newer ones are easier to use, and surprisingly, no more expensive than they were twenty years ago.

Things I liked:Simple. Compact. Tough. Price. Things I would have changed:Nothing (for this price). What others should know:For under 80 bones, this device will tell you how fast a bullet is traveling. To me, that seems like a crazy bargain. This model will not work inside very well, but works perfectly outside.

What others should know:For under 80 bones, this device will tell you how fast a bullet is traveling. To me, that seems like a crazy bargain. This model will not work inside very well, but works perfectly outside. The more sun you have, the more distance you can put between the bullet and the device. So, if it gets cloudy, you'll have to move it closer to avoid error messages. I never use the shades. It works fine without them. It also works fine using a rechargeable 9V battery (even though the instructions state that an alkaline battery must be used). If you own a PCP rifle, you absolutely need to have one of these to get the most out of your gun.

This unit is as simple, accurate and inexpensive as any to be found on today's market.

Things I liked:I like the rugged case. When folded for storage, it is right at home kicking around in the bed of a pickup with a shovel & pickaxe! But I do not recommend you transport it that way. Also, the standard camera mount is hand for putting this Chrony on your spare tripod. Things I would have changed:Add a battery clip

Things I would have changed:Add a battery clip to hold the battery in place. What others should know:When using this Chrony with a firearm or powerful airgun, here is a tip. Replace the metal rods with wooden dowels. If a bullet strikes the metal rods, the shock wave will destroy the plastic mounting lugs. However, if a bullet strikes a replacement wooden dowel, then the dowel simply breaks, which is cheap to replace!

A chrony is a must have if you tune any of your airguns, to keep track of mainspring and seal conditions, and an invaluable tool for ballistics. I don't know how I got by without one.

What others should know:If you shoot a PCP air rifle you need one of these. A Chrony is the only way to know how well your PCP is performing with different pellets, different charging pressures and, if you own a variable power rifle like my Sumatra 2500 Carbine, different power settings. This Chrony can be used indoors under normal incandescent lighting but you may have to experiment a bit to get everything set right. I use a 100 watt bulb in a standard clamp type reflector shop light hung about 3 feet over the Chrony. Keep the Chrony at least 3 feet in front of the muzzle of powerful PCP rifles. If you are getting readings that seem too high you probably need to use less light and/or more distance from the muzzle as I found out.

All it is is a simple light fixture with a cord. What others should know:Make sure you have a 9 volt battery on hand.
