The HW97K is related to one of the first - and finest - underlever field target rifles ever made. Coming from the famed Weihrauch plant in Germany, it's proving to be just as accurate. Even if you're not a field target enthusiast, you'll enjoy shooting this rifle! It's great for metallic silhouettes, plinking, shooting spinners and paper targets, and accurate enough to do some serious hunting. If you're hunting game and eliminating pests, .20 or .22 caliber should be your choice.
The quality of the polishing and bluing on the steel action, barrel and underlever exceeds what you'd normally find on comparably priced firearms. The Monte Carlo stock has a raised cheekpiece, and the beech stock has hand-cut checkering on the pistol grip. The stock is capped with a soft rubber recoil pad to give you ultimate control.
The Rekord trigger, which is praised by shooters and admired by competitors, adjusts to your needs. The 11mm grooves in the receiver make it easy to mount a scope (it does not come with open sights). If you like the simplicity and ease of shooting a spring-piston gun, then give the HW97K serious consideration.
Don't forget to pick up a variety of recommended pellets, which are listed in the AMMO link. Remember to get a scope and some targets, cleaning gear and shooting glasses. They're listed in the ACCESSORIES link.

I was intrigued by this gun after my (2) Air Arms TX200's. Let me tell you, this did not let me down!!! I loved my Air Arms guns so much I started to get more and more intrigued by other springers. As I read reviews and unbiased opinions I decided I HAD to own one of these for comparison. Well, once I received this gun and just "started" to zero in the scope in my back yard 25yd. range I fell in love with this gun just as much as the AA gun! This gun is so incredibly smooth to handle, from the cocking lever, to the perfectly sculpted cheeckpiece, to the grip, checkering, and incredible Rekord trigger, I could not believe how much I enjoyed this from the very first shot I took. It must have taken no less than 5 minutes to zero this in to my liking and enjoy it for the entire day. I could NOT put it down! It is very similar to the Air Arms gun in the quality all around, but everything is a different breed. The wood finish, bluing, trigger, barrel, cocking arm, cocking release button, and safety are all different. So, it is a little different to shoot and handle than the Air Arms. Obviously being a carbine, it is a bit shorter, and is definitely noticeably lighter. It is a little more difficult to load pellets with a large scope than the TX200. It is right on par in the accuracy dept. It shoots dependably right where you want EVERY time! Things I would have changed:I would LOVE this gun in a rich, deep rose, walnut finish.....
THAT's IT!!! What others should know:I wrote a review on the TX200 MKIII, and said I would on this gun as well. If you are thinking about either one of these, I'm sorry, but I can't definitively tell you which one I would buy. I pulled the trigger and opted for .22 version about 2 weeks ago as well. So, now I have (2) TX 200's in .177. One Beech and one Walnut. I have (2) HW97K's. One .177 and one .22. All I can say is.... When shooting either one of these, you have to purposefully pull out your other guns of lesser quality to shoot, just because they are there. All of my other guns sit for long periods, because simply put, they are not as enjoyable, comfortable, accurate, or pleasing to shoot. Don't get me wrong, I do truly love all of my airguns, but these are just a whole different breed of quality workmanship that gives you an instant gratification to shoot, and a solid understanding that these will be in your family for generations, if and when you are ever willing to give them up when that time comes. Pull the trigger on either and you will NOT be sorry. There is a reason why these don't get returned, or sent in for service. They simply don't fail, you or mechanically. The only reason I can ever think of this gun being sent back is user error or cost possibly. Once you buy either one of guns, you WILL want and find a way to get the other one as soon possible.
Feel free to email me should you have any questions on either gun.

The Trigger is NICE, the cocking effort is mild.
No Twang, and not as hold sensitive as most other spring rifles.
Again I think the new Beeman rifles have to much spring power.
After a 500+ pellets it was shooting 905fps with 7.9 grain CPL pellets.
That is 14fpe......

The Rekord trigger is amazing. I upgraded from a Gamo 890s (junk) to the Weihrauch 97K, in .22, (!Thanks Dad!) last December and couldnt be happier. I have adjusted the trigger on my Weihrauch down to what I estimate to be 2.5-3 pound trigger pull. If you invest your money in this air rifle you will be very pleased. It is extremely accurate. At 20 yards I can hit .22 caliber pellets with .22 caliber pellets. At 50 yards I am a grape's worst nightmare! One hole groups are the usual with this rifle. The Muzzle brake is hollow and does significantly reduce the report of the rifle. This is a top notch Air Rifle that is beautifully made. Its build quality reminds me of a Weatherby Rifle. It has enough velocity to hunt and the accuracy to win matches. Things I would have changed:Absolutely nothing. What others should know:At nine pounds the 97k is heavy, but the benefit is a more steady hold and less movent during the shot, which helps maintain accuracy. This gun is sensative to your shooting style. If you hold the rifle a certain way when you sight it in then that is how you have to hold it every shot to produce the most precise and accurate groups. Try many different weights and shapes of pellets until you get the best groups. My rifle likes Air Arms 16 grain field diabolos. DO NOT OIL THE PISTON. I did and as a result my gun is at beeman's shop in california getting a thourough cleaning and their "Super Tune". The piston doesn't require oiling. If you do it will deisel and smoke and cause fliers in your groups.

Things I liked:Excellent gun. As expected from german mechanical prowless, this rifles is efficient in all that is needed for easy & accurate shooting. This gun is LETHAL w/in 10y in 20 caliber. The projectile will go across the thoracic cavity of the rodent with ease. This gun is as good as AA Pro Sport. I own two in caliber 20. Things

Things I would have changed:I had a professional tune on the gun after owning it for about five years. Please don't misunderstand this. The gun is great without a tune. The point is the gun is so good, after 5 years I did not mind investing hundreds of dollars in it to make it even better. With the tune it picked up a 100 fps or more with most pellets, spring twang is completely gone, and the trigger breaks like glass at less than a pound. If it did this out of the box, that would be even better. While most will enjoy it the way it is, its potential is amazing.
What others should know:This is a heavy gun, while a carbine, it goes over 11 lbs with a scope and mounts. So don't picture it as a handy package for a lot of carry. It is an outstanding gun in.177 for short and long range accurate shooting. Plenty of power for pest control too.

Things I liked:Fit and finish of this gun is absolutely TOP-NOTCH! The bluing is flawless. Mine is the blue laminate stock version, and in my humble opinion, it is an upgrade well worth the few extra bucks. It is gorgeous. This is quality.
