Here are the benefits of the IGT over a metal mainspring:
No spring torque
No spring fatigue, even if you leave it cocked for hours
Functions perfectly in cold weather
Lasts longer than a metal spring
Gamo has entered the field of gas pistons with a Whisper! The Bone Collector Bull Whisper IGT air rifle is not only incredibly powerful, but it has many special features that'll set it apart from ordinary breakbarrel rifles with regular metal springs. Their proprietary gas piston means you can cock the gun and wait to take your next shot without worrying about a metal spring taking a set or weakening. Gas pistons are robust and do not lose anything in either area. Plus, gas pistons are known to shoot MUCH smoother and deliver less twang and vibration to the shooter!
Let's talk about the Shock Wave Absorber recoil pad. There's an entire industry centered around making aftermarket recoil pads. Their intent is to reduce the felt recoil, because constant recoil pounding into your shoulder is painful and will stop you from shooting as much as you want. While the gas piston is going to seriously reduce the vibration, the SWA recoil pad will stop you from feeling most of the recoil from the remaining movement of the gun.
In the past, Gamo customers have swapped out their triggers with aftermarket ones. No need to do that anymore! The Smooth Action Trigger is light years better than the previous version. It's smooth and predictable. What will that do for you? It'll improve your groups. Unpredictable and heavy triggers or triggers that don't break crisply are often responsible for delivering larger groups. You'll be amazed at how good a shot you are when you shoot the Bone Collector Bull Whisper IGT air rifle!
Things I liked:I have this in .177 and really like it. I own 3.4 acres that got over run with digger squirrels over the summer, I have eliminated most of them quietly, I found the pba ammo to be very loud, I have had good luck with the hunter round nose pellets, most of my shots have been 20-50 yards. Things I would have changed:I had to change the scope, the scope thats included would not stay adjusted. I had an old leapers 4x32 laying around I put on and has worked very well. You can pick up one for around $40. What others should know:Great gun for the price, comfortable, accurate and a lot of fun. I shoot it a lot more than I do my .17 and .22's.
Things I liked:I have been air gunning for 30 years and this is my favorite gun ever. It is rugged, consistent, simple, and powerful. Once I mastered the proper hold I was getting dime sized groups at 20 yards. Power! 16 to 17 ft/lbs well placed on small game provides instant, humane kills. Things I would have changed:Permanent weaver mounts would help. Why does the adult airgun industry cling to the 11mm dove tail? This gun has a solid jolt to it. After ruining two scope mounts, and the hole in the top of the gun's receiver, I finally J.B.Weld'ed a mount to the gun. I'm surprised more people have not reported this. What others should know:It doesn't whisper. It's not terribly loud, but it doesn't whisper.
Things I liked:Weight and balance of the rifle overall fit. The new trigger s.a.t.as gamo calls it is a huge up grade from older models. Things I would have changed:Make it quieter as its rather loud. What others should know:You will need to upgrade your optics immediately as the included scope is garbage.
What kind of scope would you recommend for this rifle, and I was planning on buying the Gamo Red Fire Pellets for this gun, do you think they will perform well?
micheal from USA:
pss. i forgot the gun has a 11mm dovetail.
micheal from USA:
if you just want a scope i recommend the scope that came with your gun. if you want a good but cheap mil dot scope. i would go for the 4 x 32 hunter scope made by leapers. now about the pellet, i'm not sure how well it will do. but the best pellets i used: gamo hunter, and the crosmen premier. other then that have a good time shooting.
ps. the scope rings that come with your gun is 3/8 dove. when you buy a scope. make sure that you check what kind of scope rings or mount it comes with.
pps. i have a: Leapers Accushot 1-Pc Mount w/1" Rings, High, 11mm Dovetail. and it work like a charm.
carlos from USA asked:
I need a good scope mount for this rifle I buy a scope center point 4-16x 40 but I need the scope mount
Cory from USA:
I would recommend the Leapers one piece medium rings and base PY-A-805.
Jerry from USA:
Look at this mount PY-A-805
Joe from USA:
For this scope, you will need a high mount like this one: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Leapers_Accushot_1_Rings_High_9_5_11_5mm_Dovetail/635.
Ted from USA asked:
The first time I shot my 22 cal. Bull Whisper fire shot out the muzzle and it was as loud as a 22 long rifle. I am shooting 14.3 gr. pellets will this rifle quiet down after it breaks in?
Stanley from USA:
I have the hunter extreme and did the same thing as yours after it breaks in it will settle down mine did.
