Here are the benefits of a gas spring:
    • Smoother cocking
    • Smoother shooting
    • No spring torque
    • No spring fatigue, even if you leave it cocked for hours
    • Functions perfectly in cold weather
    • Lasts longer than a metal spring

The Gamo Silent Stalker will serve you well for years to come. The IGT (Inert Gas Technology) gas piston replaces the metal mainspring usually found in spring-piston air rifles. A gas spring is better than a metal spring because it requires no maintenance! Whether you hunt small game or just shoot garden pests off your porch, the Gamo Silent Stalker is perfect for the job. We predict it'll become your go-to gun whenever you need to dispatch a pest or hunt quarry.

Things I liked:Power, noise level(as in fairly quiet), and feel.
Things I would have changed:Scope rings are not good, scope is fair but could be better, and I would love iron sights. The inability for the rings to hold the scope steady took the accuracy from 5 to 3 as when zeroed it hits dead on for about 10 shots then starts moving about.
What others should know:I love the rifle, .22 cal has incredible power and the IGT piston is easy to cock and shoot smooth. Not near the movement as a spring gun while firing. I got it for squirrel control as the little rats were trashing my attic. Notice the were? At 20 yards you can put a pellet in one ear and it is still moving right along as it comes out the other. I wish the scope rings were better, my point of aim keeps moving and I am 90% sure it is the rings. I have them cranked down and locktited but still can not keep a zero over 10 or so shots. I am going to invest in a good solid one piece mount and see what happens. The scope seems okay, I will know once I get the ring issue solved. It has decent light gathering, and when I have it zeroed It shoots about a half inch group at 20 or so yards. Not bad for my old eyes. Would think this rifle deserves a 40mm lens for even more light gathering and sharpness but the 4 power is about right. I will replace it with a 4X40mm center point if I can not get the zero to stay put. Bottom line, for the money I do not think you can beat it for pest control in an urban setting. I have dropped 7-8 tree rats so far without a single neighbor noticing the shots.

Things I liked:The price point was right. I like the no-nonsense material used in the butt and stock. Really powerful and accurate with higher end pellets.
Things I would have changed:The scope that comes with the rifle is adequate for the short haul, but it might be a good move to offer a higher end scope for an extra twenty or thirty dollars on the rifle. I would have a feature for a sling.
What others should know:This is an overall really big bang for the buck. The rifle, with the right scope, is a formidable hunting rifle up to forty yards. This rifle is good for entry level and for more advanced shooters looking for a very affordable rifle.

Things I liked:I love the easy and smooth cocking action. The feel of this rifle is also a winner. Feels like a "real" gun, not a cheap toy like some airguns I have used. I am using medium weight pellets and the accuracy is dime sized with the factory scope at my 15 yard indoor range. It makes short work of tree rats at double that range going in one ear and out the other so to speak. Not competition grade accuracy but more than sufficient for removing unwanted pests at practical ranges. Quiet enough for in town use if you are careful about it.
Things I would have changed:The scope is not as bad as some claim however with this quality of rifle I would like to see a 40mm objective on a slightly better scope with MUCH better rings. The added light gathering capability of the larger scope would be sweet. I am okay with the 4x magnification, use the same thing on my .22 rifle and never felt under scoped. But those rings gotta go they are just not up to the job.
What others should know:Bolt the scope up (with better rings preferably) and shoot 50 to 100 shots then tighten it up and go through sighting it in all over. Since I have done that I am quite happy with the over all accuracy. Do not forget to tighten up all the screws on the rifle as well. I did have a rattle in the stock on delivery. Pulled the recoil pad off, 2 screws, and dumped out an unused washer. Problem solved and as far as I can tell it was not a part of the rifle, just dropped in during assembly.
