Reviews summary Hammerli Nova
Things I liked:Feels like a serious rifle. Accuracy is very good. I shot .5" groups at 30 yd. using Beeman Crow Magnmum pellets and the Leapers scope I purchased with the gun. I believe the underlever model is more accurate when using a scope since the barrel and action are fixed. My other airgun is a break-barrel and was never accurate with a scope, but was accurate with open sights. Things I would have changed:The breach is very tight for big fingers to load pellets. When holding the gun in my right hand, the breach opens right to left, making it more awkward to reach around with my left hand. Finally just had to sit down to load it more comfortably. I would like it if the breach hinged from L to R or from front to back instead. Trigger has a lot of creep but I have not adjusted it yet. What others should know:I upgraded from a Gamo break-barrel gun to, hopefully, gain more accuracy using a scope. In my experience, each time the gun is cocked, the barrel does not return to the exact alignment with the action (where the scope is mounted), resulting in poor accuracy. Since the underlever cocker guns leave the barrel permanently fixed to the action, scope accuracy is extremely good. Things I liked:Really nice gun, wood stock looks very nice, very accurate specially with beeman crow magnum pellets. Nice open sights, but to get the guns full potential you need a scope, I'm using the centerpoint 3-9X40mm illuminated scope. Also the fact that it is an underlever makes it more accurate but also a little heavier. Things I would have changed:Trigger pull too heavy, hoping that it gets lighter as it breaks in, you do get used to the trigger but it does affect accuracy a tinny bit but don't let that stop you from owning a very nice underlever at an affordable price. What others should know:Beeman crow magnum favorite pellet out of six different types the silver sting also good. I did a lot of research before I bought this gun looked at many guns and none came close for the price, I specially like the wood stock, not a fan of the black plastic look.

Things I would have changed:The trigger. Way too heavy for me. I found it very difficult to keep a tight group with such a heavy trigger pull. I'm used to Crossman pump air rifles, and this is my first springer, so maybe some of the problem is in my technique. I just know that I got way better accuracy with the Crossman gun I had as a kid than I get with this one. Also, the power was less than I expected. This gun doesn't seem much more powerfull than the pneumatic pump rifles I have shot in the past. 1000 ft per seems way overstated.
What others should know:I wonder if I'm using the wrong pellets. Maybe I will try the Crow Magnum and see if that helps. My gun has a Centerpoint scope and maybe the scope is moving too, as this gun has a lot of recoil.
