Description

Your world is about to change! The Galatian air rifle has clips with about 50% more rounds than most other precharged pneumatic hunting rifles. What does that do for you? It means you can load up a whole bunch of rounds before leaving home and not have to carry pellet tins with you. It means you can hunt more efficiently because you're not stopping so often to reload.

Hastan air rifles have been well-received by airgunners because their quality is so good. If you want a solid PCP rifle that delivers shot after shot with power and authority, the Galatian air rifle should be No. 1 on your list. The beautiful walnut stock coupled with the deep bluing will immediately impress you...but the accuracy will exceed your expectations as every pellet finds the 10-ring on your target.

Beautiful rifle with plenty of power. .25 cal. for me, and after having some initial scope problems, which I'll discuss later, I consider it the finest airgun I own. Initial sight in with Champion pellet trap indoors had shots going through the same hole.

Rail system and sling mounts.

Using a Leapers 4-16x44 AO SWAT Accushot scope I had to get high rings and had problems because the base of yhe rings is too thick, or there isn't enough room for the rails to accept that thickness. I got a pair of the Weaver to dovetail mounts and that cured any problems, including that front sight looking like a little Christmas tree at the bottom of the scope. When I finally got up to the mountains to use my friends backyard range I was quite happy to find that I could cover a 3 shot group at 50 yds. with a penny.

Looks and Quality,Accuracy,feel,extra mag,sling,Iron sights.

The manual needs to improve.

This air rifle is on the heavy side. Shoots great just as is. The stock cracked and Hatsan replaced no question ask and real quick.

Beautiful and awesome looking rifle. I give it 5 stars for its looks. But things go down hill from there for me. I do like the 13 round mag, it gives you time to get comfortable with your shooting, before reloading. But one mag I have to turn manually after a 100+ rounds. The other mag works fine. loading the pellets, they have to be fully seated or else the rifle will jam. My son's Benjamin Marauder loads easy and does not jam. The rifle is very accurate at 25 yards and today I shot at 85 yards (285 feet)with a new scope. A Nikon P-223. It took 4 or 5 shots to get lined up with the bulls eye. The BM is just as accurate.

The sling attachment should be changed to a standard American sling attachment. I did put a quality bipod on. But I had to put it behind the sling attachment. The rifle would be more stable if the bipod was farther up front. Quality of the mag needs improvement. Also it's hard to buy extra mags at this time. Now, how about a manual for this rifle? They gave me an incomplete manual for a different rifle. A lot of what I am saying is because I am comparing it with what you get with the BM. This is how stupid I am about this rifle. I couldn't figure out how to put air in it. I was set up with a shoebox for the BM. 2 days later I figured out that I needed an adapter for the shoebox (air venturi male). Just another delay (weather, neighbors, and stupidity). They say it's a high quality trigger? I question that, because mine would lock up and when you let go if you touched the trigger again it would fire (dangerous). Loctite helped this problem. But the trigger is still not as smooth as the BM. Maybe with some fine adjustments and some more Loctite I'll be able to get it to match the BM. This rifle is loud (5). I did buy an "air stripper" from a different website. The idea of the air stripper is to align the pellet from air turbulence when leaving the barrel. But it does quiet it down to about a 3 from a 5. Does it make it more accurate? I'm not sure. I would have to switch back and fore with the original attachment to find out. Maybe if I'm bored enough some day I'll try it out.

If your thinking about getting into PCP rifles I would recommend to start with a BM, shoebox and an air bottle. With that stuff you can go out into the woods or go to a rifle range and shoot off a couple of hundred rounds before you will need a refill. You will definitely become a better shooter faster, then if you go to the rifle range with a high caliber rifle (cost of ammo, so less shooting). The reason is cost and availability of ammo these days. There is not much difference between bulk .22 caliber and high quality pellets at 50 yards. Except the pellets are a lot less expensive. I expect that when my son reaches my age that the Hatsan will still be in good working order. Quality is no problem, except for the mag.

Hi fellow Galation owner, I am a bit confused about your mag issue. B.B. Tom Gaylord, set us straight lately, if there is no spring then it is not a mag. So I guess we call them clips. However, I have 7, 13 round .25 caliber clips for mine. I average 65 shots per fill. I also have a 2nd 255cc air cylinder. So I can fill up my clips and carry 91, 25.4grain either JSB or America Arms pellets. With both cylinders I can head out with enough air for 130 shots. That smokes Mrods capacity by what? mucho more shots on two fills. I don't know if the .22 clips are different style then the .25 ones but I doubt it. I did discover a trick to loading the Galation clips. Which I feel are much better then the AT and BT series Hatsan clips.(I also have an AT44W-10 .22) If you notice on your Galation you will see a chrome spring loaded ball on the rear side if the clip "chamber" for lack of a better term. So when you load the clip you need to insert and push the clip against the chrome ball and you will notice the chrome ball pushs in on the spring and the clip slides right into place, You will then want to give the clip a slight roll toward the top of the rifle so the side bolt will slip right into the center hole of the clip. Works like a charm. If you have one good clip and one bad one, there has to be a reason. Sounds like one or more of the clip dawgs is chipped or warn. Either way call Hatsan, that is what warranty is for. I got 3 clips with my gun and bought 4 more for $12.99 each. So easy to find if you scout around. I am confused by your review if you have a ,22 or a .25. I keep a log book and I have each clip marked on the smooth side. So if I get a few bad groups I check and see if it is the same clip that is causing issues. As for the bipod, there is an adapter that slips over your sling pin if you look for one. I have the Snythtic stock and it has 3 weaver/picitelly mounts. I have a light on each side and a bipod under. Be well and I hope you enjoy your Galation as much as I do mine.

Ok. The rain was short lived so I made it out to the range. This gun was almost dead on out of the box! I only shot today @ 25yds,Open sights,With a rest. Im not a fan of fiber optic sights,But these are bearable,Not to bright or large that they block your target.I was shooting with .22 cal H&N Barracuda match pellets.Shooting on the rest it only took me 3 clicks on the windage and it was dead on.A real tackdriver! Recoil was almost un noticable,The bolt action is smooth,The rotary clip was a little finnicky at first(Prob because its new) But after 5-6 clip changes it became alot easier to load and unload. I really love this gun!My only concern is the pellets dont seat real snug so I would be careful if you preload the xtra clip and store it in the but stock that they do not come loose. The buttstock clip storage is nice tho. Of course different pellets may fit a bit more snug,But I only tried the HN Cudas today.I was surprised at how loud this was considering its firing subsonic,So It's definetly NOT a Backyard shooter.

Nothing so far.

This is my very first PCP and im addicted now! I guess I was always afraid to try one because of hand pumping and the cost of using a tank as another option.I purchased the air venturi pump and it was very easy to use and went without a hitch.I WILL be buying a tank to make the fills faster tho.
If your like I was and not sure if you want to venture into the PCPs,,,DO IT! Im sold!
Thank's again PA!!

Charles, I have to agree, air strippers really tighten up the groups. Also they are adjustsble, I have a stock one on my AT44, a stock one on my Galation for 25 yards and another one for my Galation which I play with to get better groups past 50 yards up to 100 yards. I saw this wild German gun called a Steryl (spelled wrong) and it had a double one on the muzzle. Try looking at it at the IWA German gun show few months ago. Plus it has a huge sidewinder wheel, just like from another planet, probably a proto type?

First,I just ordered this Monday night and its in my hands Wed morning.Thank's PA! I havent had a chance to fire this yet,Rain togay,So I will follow up this review after I get a chance.Opening the box exposes a case with the Hatsan logo,Opening that case I was in awe!Obvious this gun is made with extreme attention to detail,Simply beautifull! Feels comfortable when shouldering and is a nice length(Not too long like most break barrels.I am very impressed with this and if it fires as well as it looks it's a winner!

nothing yet.

I have tons of airguns,This is my very 1st PCP and I'm very excited to try it out!So far i have no regrets paying close to 900.00 for this. Some might say that's too much for an air rifle,But for a collecter like me,Rifles like this are an air gunners dream!I will be back with a follow up soon!
Thank's again PA Air!

ZEUSKILLER, My reading and personal discovers about how important it is to get constant clip loadings proceedure has proven to myself to make a huge difference in tight groups. Everyone knows to use a small drop of lube in the center of each clip as well as lubing the clip rubbers. I have constructed a simple yet priceless tool for setting the pellets into the clips to be exact with each other per load. If you remove a stored, but loaded clip A final step must be taken before I load a clip into place. I lay the clip smooth side down into a tin lid. I then pull out my trusty Colgate tooth brush (with the actual brush clipped off at the handle and a small enough shaft to be able to remove a pellet if needed. Like say if since it was hand loaded previously. I flip the handle over and use the factory end of the brush handle and propery seat each pellet as far and as firm into the pellet hole as possible without it exceeding completely through to touch out the other side. Each pellet exactly the same depth all with each other. I was amazed when I discovered how such a small attention to detail produced completely tight groups. The other end of the tooth brush's slender portion is just right to remove a pellet that had gone too far. Pop out the pellet and reset it to match the rest. Of course examining that pellet for any damages and if a defect pellet is noticed quickly replacing it and resetting it. So simple yet do satisfing for accuracy. Be Well.
