The Walther Parrus air rifle is a powerful, single-shot breakbarrel air rifle with reliable magnum velocity. This spring-piston powered rifle is the next generation of the popular Terrus model, and it's steady cocking mechanism delivers muzzle energy of up to 22 foot pounds making it ideal for small game hunting. The .177 caliber version is capable of delivering pellets at up to 1300 feet per second, while the .22 caliber sends pellets at 1000 fps. The Parrus is equipped with a micro-adjustable open rear sight and a hooded TruGlo fiber optic front sight to help get you on target quickly. The 1/2" UNF threaded muzzle is popular with European shooters for its silenced recreational shooting. And adding to the list of features is the XT Trigger with its adjustable first-stage travel. The gun is ready for a scope with the 11mm dovetail rail, and it has a rubber recoil pad adding to its comfort. The attractive hardwood stock has subtle checkering for added grip. Right out of the box this powerful springer will catch your eye and offer hours of fun shooting.

Seemed to have good power and accuracy but didn't notice breech and barrel bent too the left till I mounted a scope and I had to dial it in all the way to the right till I could only go so far.
Things I would have changed:For it to be made in Germany its quality was disappointing. The rifling is just like my crosman summit ranger 22.cal air rifle. But the fit and finish were no better bluing is nothing to brag about I saw some nicks in the metal breech just a very poor job no better and even worse than some Chinese companies. So very disappointed. It can't hold a candle to my RWS Diana 350magnum 22.cal fit and finish are not even close and the T06 trigger is so so much better than the Walther parrus. Now I know why they are probably not making them anymore.
What others should know:Don't waste your money on it. Go either to HW or RWS or even Benjamin or Crosman . They are better than the walther. Anyone say German's don't make junk they lied it depends on how much their companies care about their product and apparently walther does not.

I shy away from magnum springers and thought for a magnum springer the Terrus I already have is ACCURATE and I thought powerful enough! However, this big brother to the Terrus is even better though it is much longer and larger in piston chamber diameter. Cocking is long and easy, there is the sound of a huge spring being compressed until lock. Trigger is outstanding-light and crisp! The Beech Wood is actually darker and more grained than the Terrus I have. I am surprised such velocity and accuracy go together. I am using CP's 10.5gr. Target/Silhouette Heavy. I use the same pellets now in the FWB Sport as well. The Walther Parrus for the price is a steal--so is the Terrus!
Things I would have changed:Rear sight on my Parrus is useless--it is too loose and wiggles in all directions like a loose helicopter never able to land in the zone. I got those off right away (I read where others have had "accuracy problems" with their Parrus's and I think the problem is simply the rear sight) and put a Leupold 2.5-8X 32mm VARXIII; and ADDED another for WIDE field: Nikon Monarch 1.5-4.5X UCC 20mm. The gun shoots extremely well with BOTH scopes interchanging!
What others should know:This gun is solidly built with essentially a lifetime warranty by Walther to the original owner--how can you go wrong with $250?

Can this gun be converted to gas ram ?
will hatsan stripper fit the parrus
What pellets provide the highest muzzle velocity? What pellets provide the highest degree of accuracy?
Not sure if you have already bought this rifle, and checked on this yourself, but I can tell you, that with the 18.13 JSB, I am getting a few feet per second shy of 25 fpe!

Powerful and accurate, it is a very beautiful rifle, the barrel joint locks up like a bank vault. My rifle shoots Crosman Premier Hollow Point pellets the best. It also likes Benjamin Destroyer pellets. Both pellets give 23 to 24 FPE. It is devastating on small game, I shot a rabbit at about 20 yards and it literally smashed right through its skull.
Things I would have changed:Tighter quality control. The first two rifles that I got were from Field Supply, the first one had a crooked front sight and the second one had a grinding noise every time that I cocked the barrel and the cocking lever pin started to come out so both of those rifles had to go back and finally I ordered through Pyramyd Air on there 10 for 10 deal and finally got a good one.
What others should know:The big push for this rifle is to use JSB 18.13 pellets, well my rifle hates them, they shoot like a shotgun, so when you go to buy pellets do not buy 3 tins with your extra free one for 4 tins of pellets, thinking that these are going to work in your rifle, because mine do not, the head size too small and it falls into the barrel. The Crosman Premier Dome Hollow Points fit snug and shoot straight and cost about $6.24 at Walmart. A much better deal than $19 for pellets that don't work. This air rifle will take a little while to break in, it took me at least 500 pellets to finally getting super tight groups, but once achieved it is definitely worth it and I would definitely recommend this air rifle to a friend. Hopefully Walther is cleaning up their quality control.
