Things I liked:

Very clear viewing optics. I'm not sure I'd be able to literally shoot a bug at any great distance, but that's more me at fault than the scope. Mounted on an older Diana 34 with the Vortek spring kit, this thing has held zero for well over 100 shots without loosening. I'm using some Leapers Accushot Rings, High Rise 9.5-11.5mm Dovetail versions and they work great. The zoom is a nice to have, at 12x at 60' (my indoor range) I can clearly see a bullseye printed no larger than the .177 pellets I'm shooting. At 3x, I'm still seeing plenty to shoot 1/2" groups. I'll probably try one of the fixed zoom illuminated versions next. Parallax Adjustment is very nice. For a cross-dominant shooter with glasses, I'm shooting way better than I used to with a less adjustable scope. Elevation and windage adjustments feel great and lock in nicely. Overall compact size is very nice and fits the dimensions of an air rifle very well.

Things I would have changed:

I did get a slight POI shift through the zoom range. Above 3x, I shoot about 1-1.5" high at 60' depending on the zoom level. I could re-zero and hold zoom, but what is the point of a zoom scope if you can't change it? I confirmed that after zeroing the scope in by taking 5 shot groups of this rifle's preferred pellet (JSB Match Diablo Exact RS 7.33gr) at each of the zoom settings (4 thru 10) and consistently shot a bit higher than 3x. It could just be me, but 40 shots in a row slowly moving up through the range when windage stayed locked in confirms it to me.

What others should know:

I previously used the UTG scope droop mount made for the RWS break barrels and I couldn't get enough adjustment to zero a scope out. It way overcompensated, so the the normal mounts directly mounted to the gun and this scope combined work much better. I needed about 7MOA elevation adjustment down to zero this gun out. This is the only non-illuminated Bug Buster. I'd looked at the whole line for so long that I didn't realize this wasn't illuminated until I got it, a slight disappointment as I was curious to try illuminated, but not the end of the world.

Things I liked:

Features for price.

Things I would have changed:

Quality control needs improvement. 1st one I received was bad. Side focus knob was so hard to rotate, would have required pliers to turn focus knob. Sent back right away for exact replacement. 2nd one arrived yesterday. Did function check today and everything seemed to work fine. So I proceed to mount scope on my avenger....and no allen wrenches in box. No allen wrenches were provided by UTG for this $130 scope. I purchase a $20 set of scope mounts, and guess what comes with? That's right, a set of allen wrenches in the correct sizes to mount a scope with the scope rings. The $34 crosman 4x32 scope I previously purchased, had the proper tool included to mount the scope. Lack of quality control and simple lack of attention to detail.....may cause me to switch to Hawke or Athlon.

What others should know:

UTG scopes seem to be hit or miss. Make sure you inspect the scope carefully as soon as it arrives. Any probs, request RMA immediately.

    Things I liked:

Nice compact size with no compromise on performance, love the minimum 3 yard AO adjustment. This is my second one and likely own a 3rd sometime. Like that you can order with choice of mounts.

    Things I would have changed:

Not much, I kind of prefer the AO adjustment on the front optic rather than the side, a big wheel makes it easier to fine tune.

    What others should know:

Get it, you won't regret it. Great mini full feature scope.

    Things I liked:

Clear optics, able to focus on close targets with the side focus, capless and toolless windage/elevation adjustments, easy to use windage/elevation lock rings.

    Things I would have changed:

It includes medium rings, but tall rings would probably be better. I had to use a riser to mount in on a Benjamin Akela rifle comfortably.

    Things I liked:

Great little 12x scope that has one great feature, IT HAS PARRALLAX DOWN TO 3 YARDS. This is a great basement range scope for under 10 yards. No frills, just great for practicing, especially during the winter. I like it so much I bought two. I know of no other scope with this parrallax feature.

    Things I would have changed:

Make other scopes with this parrallax feature.

    Things I liked:

Excellent product. Optics are very good. Very sturdy and very easy to zero in. I’m a novice however have had numerous scopes on numerous rifles. This scope is very compact and user friendly. I would highly recommend it.

    Things I would have changed:

    Excellent !!!! No changes

    What others should know:

It is by far the best scope I have owned. It should be noted it’s not the most expensive. Excellent for an ever day hunting scope.

    Things I liked:

This is a great scope for the price. I'm very happy with it. It holds zero and is performing well after 1500 shots. The sunshade is cool. And I like the reticle design.

    Things I would have changed:

The turrets are great but they need scope caps. I'm afraid I'm going to bump them and damage them. They are pretty tough and can stand some abuse. But a protective cap would be an improvement.

    What others should know:

The scope is shorter than most riflescopes and you might have to use a special mount. You don't have a lot of room to shift the scope rearward to get proper eye relief. On a lot of rifles you are going to need a mount that shifts the scope rearward. So make sure you get the right mounts for this scope.

    Things I liked:

This is a perfect scope for an airgun. Not too heavy and small enough not to add bulk or much weight to your gun. Well made.

    Things I would have changed:

I'd like to see more choices for reticles.

    What others should know:

    Excellent value.

    Things I liked:

Good small scope for pest control. Short parallax focus needed for my use. Mounted on Evanix AR6-K

    Things I would have changed:

Included mounts were not suitable for my gun - wasted money. Let buyer choose mounts.

    What others should know:

Compact scope - good combination for a carbine. No problem turning parallax turret as some have reported.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

Compact, Inexpensive and I like the 3 yards minimum parallax adjustment. The turret knobs are very nice and I like the locking ring so that you can lock them in once they are zeroed and adjust on the fly when you need to.

    Things I would have changed:

When you look through it, the FOV seems very small. It also doesn't gather light all that well. I feel that a Vortex crossfire is a fair comparison and for optical quality and FOV, the crossfire wins every time. The vortex is bright and clear whereas this scope looks a little dim and narrow. All that said, it does work and it will be a decent stand-in until I can get an Element Helix for my FX Impact. That said, it has a lot of features you won't see again until you get up into the $400-$500 range.

    What others should know:

Decent scope for the money, just don't expect high quality optics. I haven't tried the accuracy of the turrets yet, so I may have to adjust my review if they don't work well (After all, Target turrets that don't return to zero or adjust to the MOA they display are useless.) But give it a go. It is cheap and it does a decent job. It does hold zero on my Impact and the QR scope rings are decent perk with it as well. I paid $75 for a set or Warne's and these come included (the Warne's are obviously milled steel whereas these are cheap aluminum, but I don't have it on a .375 H&H.)

    Things I liked:

small light weight and crystal clear, It is a lot of scope for the money.

    Things I would have changed:

small screw at bottom of scope needs to have the edge flattened.

    What others should know:

I had to get a offset scope mount to move the scope back far enough then on the bottom of the scope there is a small screw you have to fill down the edge of to be able to turn it to level it because the offset mount is not high enough.

    Things I liked:

Everything !! Especially the side parallax focus wheel .. wow .. this is a REAL scope. Really love it. GOT TO LOVE that you can 'really' focus down to 3 yards! I generally sight them in at 100 feet (a little over 30 yards) I can read the fine print on Birchwood Casey Targets .... it's pretty hard to beat that.

    Things I would have changed:

I would rather see an 'offset' dovetail mount option .. I have several of these on Benjamin, Crosman, and Gamo Rifles and added offset dovetail mounts ( I really need this scope mounted to the very rear of the receiver to get good eye focus for 'my' needs) ... Eye focus is great, but for me, it serves to move the scope back. Maybe Offer an option instead of Weaver/Picatinny Rail ... I actually have three sets of Picatinny mounts in a box unused .. needed to purchase Dovetail mounts, additional.

    What others should know:

Pretty much said it all already; this scope is FABULOUS and 'tough' So far it has served on Gamo Springer magnum, Benjamin NP, Crosman Multi-pump ... without a whimper. (so far anyway ;-) ... for the money, you won't be sorry if you buy this one!!

    Things I liked:

Good scope package for the price in my opinion. The scope is clear enough for the average shooter and I really like how compact it is. The turrets adjust easily when needed and the side focus works well. No complaints with the included scope mounts, sunshade, and flip up caps either. The Mil-Dots work good for those farther shots.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

There are better scopes out there, but this works well for the average shooter. I have a few of these and use them on my PCP and break barrel air rifles.

I liked being able to get RMA # right away.

    Things I would have changed:

Would be nice if they did a function check at factory before shipping out product.

    What others should know:

As soon as the scope arrived, I checked function of elevation and windage knobs. Turned easily with positive clicks. Then checked side focus knob. Super stiff in either direction. Impossible to turn ao side focus knob with either hand. Barely possible to turn side focus knob using both hands. Hoping replacement scope is better.

    Things I liked:

13 Jan 2021 1400 hrs. Just received this 3x12 bugbuster with side focus AO. Ordered with 80mm bugbuster side wheel at the SAME time. Both were supposedly in stock. Can NOT fathom why they were shipped separately. 2 different days, 2 different locations. Ohio and Utah. Have to wait until next week to get the wheel. Frustrating because the side focus knob is insanely stiff to turn. Extremely hard to rotate. Hopefully, the side wheel will fix the problem. Although as stiff as the focus knob is to rotate, I have serious doubts that it will cure the problem. I would request an RMA # right now....but will wait untill the side wheel arrives. Have to send them both back at same time, as the wheel is useless without the scope. By the same token, the scope is all but worthless without the wheel.

    Things I would have changed:

Make everything function as it is supposed to. Perhaps better quality control with functionality test, before boxing scope for shipment, would alleviate these problems.

    What others should know:

When ordering in stock items, make sure they ship from same location by annotating on order to do so.

    Things I liked:

The scope is light weight but not cheap feeling, compact size and appears to be good quality. It fit perfectly on my Diana Stormrider using high rings it allows good clearance of the magazine. If you don't use the shade you can keep the rear sight on the gun if that interests you. I use the shade which works very well. The flip up covers work well and the spring tension is good so they do not flop around when open. As for glass, it is clear, sharp and has good brightness edge to edge. The best part of this scope is the paralax adjustment, I can be on 12 power and easily focus to just 10' away, which is not necessarily needed but gives you an idea of how this scope works great for close range shooting. Some people say the reticle is too thick, I do not agree, it is clearly thin enough to me and does not block out 1/2" targets at 20-30 yds. I was able to zero in quickly, and so far it is holding zero well at all powers.

    Things I would have changed:

Just being picky the rear flip up cover does become a little bit of a pain when adjusting the reticle focus. Eye relief is a little tight in that you need to get it set up just right to get a full sight picture. Otherwise as of right now there is nothing outside of price that I would change.

    What others should know:

I was shooting with friends who have other brand scopes that are popular for air guns and when we compared to the Bug Buster they were not as sharp or bright and did not focus down as close as this one does, I would certainly buy it again. My recommendation is go with the 12 power that extra bit over the 9 is nice when shooting at small targets.

I like this scope and the price. It comes with mounting rings, sun shade and flip up lens covers. You do not have to search for these extras. You can focus it down to three yards making it shootable in your garage, It has side focusing in my opinion, the only way to go.

    Things I would have changed:

IMMHO, this is the best Bug Buster yet. If you are looking for a good quality scope that is compact and lightweight and will not break the bank, this is it.

    Things I would have changed:

Like all Bug Busters, it has a rather thick wire reticle. This works well when searching for that elusive fuzzy tailed tree rat up in the canopy, but does not do so well for long range precision shooting. I would like to see Leapers change this over to etched reticles.

    What others should know:

The reticle is not illuminated. That is fine by me, but I know there are many who like the light.
