Things I liked:

Note: This review is for the nickel-plated 4.5mm/.177 cal. version of the Dan Wesson 715 6" CO2 BB Revolver, Model #ASG-18192.) Unlike earlier Dan Wesson revolvers, this Model 715 version is an extremely realistic replica of a real Dan Wesson firearm. It has an authentic Dan Wesson-style cylinder release and weighs within a few ounces of the real steel. It utilizes a low profile gas valve that eliminates the large bulge behind the cylinder that plagues many CO2 revolvers.

Things I would have changed:

Eliminate the safety. The real DW715 firearm, like most revolvers, doesn't have or need one. Also, eliminate or plug the small hole in the top of the frame on the 4.5mm versions of the gun. It is only there to provide access to the hop up adjustment on the 6mm airsoft versions.

What others should know:

4.5mm BB cartridges and speed-loaders such as those provided with earlier Dan Wesson revolvers as well as those supplied with similar WinGun-based guns such as the Umarex S&W 327TRR8, BlackOps Exterminator and Crosman SR357 will also work with this airgun version of the DW 715.

    Things I liked:

I took my time reading reviews many reviews and it seamed like the ASG was the highest rated. I love it! Lifelike great heft . The speedloader works well single action trigger is different than the double. I love this revolver now I have the Peacemaker and my new favorite.. This awsome715 series nickel plated 6"Revolver. I'm thinking 4" in pellet rifled barrel next.

    Things I would have changed:

My only only complaint and this is a common thing with many if my pistols is the black in black sights.. I'm 50 the eyes aren't as good I got tested model paint and copied the white style of a CZ. The white enamel completely remedies the sight blindness. My only complain. Oh one more but not bad.. The finish is spectacular but if you use the holster you will see wear marks over time. I started seeing them very quickly and was able to oil and gently buff those starting wear marks out. Its ok I'm just not using the holster no biggie. There must be a more pistol friendly holster softer? . Perfect other than those two minor and fixed easily things.

    What others should know:

Buy it . I bought the smoothbore 6" Nickel plated but only bb.I've only and only use great quality ammo pellets bb's etc but I'm thinking about maybe another 4 or 6" but pellet and a rifled barrel or bi ammo. Bb"s and pellets but I heard bb's aren't good on rifling? Get this brand revolver only.. The 715 series the Hoag grips are spectacular and a included hex wrench built in. AWESOME pistol. Everyone who has seen it has had to shoot it.!!

    Things I liked:

Dan Wesson and ASG have just raised the bar on bb revolvers! The engineering and integrity of this gun is simply fantastic. The rubber grips are amazing and the loading and tightening of the CO2 cartridge is simple and efficient with wrench being part of the grip. Superior sights, nice power that lasts 70 - 80 shots per CO2 and it is still winter. All of the functionality of this gun is smooth as silk, no loose parts or wobbles of any kind. I own the traditional 8" Dan Wesson silver pistol, and this gun far outshines that one, and that one used to be my favorite in both size weight feel and accuracy. With the 715 I am shooting 1.25 inch groups at 20 feet, the sights are fully adjustable and the balance and feel of this gun from the grips make it a pleasure to shoot. The trigger shoots great and single and double action, single action is a very light touch and you will be dead on with your aim if you relax and let the gun do the shooting.

    Things I would have changed:

Honestly, Nothing to change on this one, all of the normal minor issues or comments about the other Dan Wesson pistols have been resolved, ASG hits a home run with this gun and when they come out wither other colors and sizes I will feel compelled to get another one.

    What others should know:

Mine seems to shoot well with any bb's: but seems to shoot best with the Hornady black diamond steel bb's and Daisy zinc coated precision bb's. The mechanical engineering is far superior to any revolver out there on the market, this gun is a real bargain at these prices.

    Things I liked:

Solid full quality metal construction throughout. Only thing not metal appears to be the grip panels which are made of nice quality heavy rubber. The average velocity I measured throughout the first 50 shots slow-fire was slightly higher than the rated velocity at a temperature of 75 degrees. Accuracy on average was pretty good with most 10 yard groups of 6 shots falling into a mean average of 1.335" extreme C to C spread. I had one spectacular group of .888" with 5 of those in .377". These averages are with Hornady Black Diamond BB's. This is the only BB I have used thus far but as I try others I will include the results in the comments section. I frequently get the best groups from Umarex and Avanti ammo. Cocking back the hammer is a little stiff but both single and double-action trigger pulls are quite good. Single action is very good. All other functional movements are of good consistent and fairly smooth operation. The adjustable rear sight can be very precisely adjusted.

    Things I would have changed:

There was a lot of play in the hammer on its axis giving it excess side to side looseness when not cocked. I would have lived with it except after about 50 shots my pistol lost power for the hammer return and would not fire any longer. I am an airgun professional and debated whether to send this one back to Pyramyd for a replacement or fix it myself. After a little analysis of the hammer function I could determine it was a spring related failure and not a major part failure so I opened it up to see precisely what was wrong. It was as expected, the hammer spring. It was out of spec with a leg too short that was designed to fit into a recess to hold it and allow it to power the hammer forward. It was not broken in any manner, just not properly formed. I corrected the problem. While I had it open I put a small shim of .017" (seventeen-thousandths of an inch) to remove some of the hammer play. That made it perfect while still leaving enough slack to not impede its momentum when firing.

    What others should know:

I received this DW 715 as an exchange for the standard Dan Wesson Revolver I had purchased. I already had the Dan Wesson 715 pellet revolver and was really impressed by the quality of it and it was my first Dan Wesson product. The quality of the standard revolver I sent in for replacement, was so shockingly poor for the price point that I never bothered to fire it. I did not want to handle it much but it appeared to me that the hammer, cylinder latch (not Dan Wesson style) rear sight and trigger were plastic moulded and have a rather crude appearance. As mentioned, I did not load or charge it with CO2 but I did cock it and let the hammer down easy and the action felt in operation like a $10.00 toy. It was disgusting in its lack of quality. For just a little more money this Model 715 is in a whole different league of quality. I would never recommend the standard Dan Wesson, but the Dan Wesson Model 715 is a steal in quality construction, finish and materials.

When I got the Dan Wesson 715 pellet one I knew I had to get the bb one too .what a nice gun shoots good hard hitting and the accuracy is good the weight and the feel is great I was getting between 60-70 shot per. 1 co2 which I don't know if that is good because the temp. was to cold to shot but I couldn't wait to try it .you will like this gun buy it.

    Things I would have changed:

yes the only thing I didn't like and it needs to be address is the finish on the cylinder it's poorly made lots of burrs and it takes away the greatness of the gun

    Things I liked:

Saw this on Pyramyd site, liked the looks and figured if I didn't like it I would return it. No way! You can't tell the difference between this and the real thing at first glance! It has the heft and feel of the real Dan Wesson right down to the rubber drips. Cylinder opens like the real thing to load with realistic cartridges! The quality of this gun is first class! As for accuracy, for a smooth bore BB gun it is excellent!

    Things I would have changed:

Lines are sharp, could be rounded and polished a bit, but thats just cosmetic. Would like to see this with a rifled barrel for pellets. Forget the speed loader and add extra cartridges!

    What others should know:

You won't regret buying this gun. if you do just remember to buy plenty of extra cartridges. You won't want to put it down. It's a pain to shoot six times and then have to reload the cartridge with a BB and then reload the gun. I bought the set of 24 extra cartridges so now I have 30 shots before I have to reload cartridges.

    Things I liked:

This gun is a masterpiece. In the dark you could not tell the difference between this and the real thing. And even in the light you would have to look down the barrel to tell. I liked everything about it. The heft has to be close to the original. Excellent trigger. The grips are real rubber just like the original. The gate swings out smoothly and the lockup is perfect. It is very accurate. I had to adjust the elevation to bring the point of aim up and that was it. I am not a good pistol shooter but I was hitting the bullseye at 8 yards. I use Avanti match bbs.

    Things I would have changed:

The cylinder could be polished up a little better but that is a minor nicpick.

    What others should know:

The overall quality for this gun is better than the other Dan Wesson models. Not to say that the entire Dan Wesson line is not good, but the 715 is excellent and outstanding. If you like shooting revolvers then get this one.
