Things I would have changed:Can't wait for a carbine/synthetic stock version What others should know:When adjusting the metering screw be careful when replacing the set screw as it's possible to tighten it too much and somehow move the metering screw inward reducing power greatly. Sounds implausible, but I did it.

Things I liked:This is my first PCP and I really like it. It is accurate enough to place .22 pellets on top of one another. I shoot at around 35-40 yards and this amazing gun puts the pellets right where they are aimed. Now, if I could just aim better! I shoot at around 35-40 yards and this amazing gun puts the pellets right where they are aimed. Now, if I could just aim better! Since this is my first PCP (really my first air rifle since I was a kid with a BB gun), I cannot really compare with other guns, but I love the way it shoots. I also love how quiet it is. My neighbors will never know what I have in my back yard. I have a Marksman 2004 (same as the Beeman P-3) and it is louder than the Marauder! I'm a happy camper! I am getting some 40 shots after pumping up to 2800, and the accuracy seems to stay the same, leaving it on the factory settings. I haven't tried the CO2 yet, but that is supposed to give a lot more shots on a fill, though with reduced power. Things I would have changed:I had not realized just how heavy this gun is. My mother tried it (really!) and found it too heavy to handle. I'm doing pushups to build up! I guess I was expecting something a bit lighter. Mentioned in other comments that the mag seemed flimsy. For plastic, it seems o.k., though I am going to order a couple more, just in case this one breaks. The instructions for loading it need some work. I finally figured it out, but it was frustrating at first. What others should know:Everyone says that this is a great beginner's PCP (because of price) and I know there are other PCP rifles out there with more power, but this will do everything I will need or want in such a gun. I am hoping Crosman will come out with a pistol (I have heard that they are working on it) that is a PCP.

Order one or two extras anyway because they will make shooting that much more fun. Once you figure out how they work they are very easy to load. What others should know:This gun can be loaded single shot without the magazine, but it will be difficult for anyone without small fingers. It does have barrel droop so order adjustable rings for your scope. Yes, you will definitely want to scope this rifle.

Things I would have changed:I wouldn't change anything, but for the price I do believe it should come with a few little perks. Sling, cleaning kit and a couple extra clips at least. What others should know:I purchased this to do some backyard shooting and help to rid the neighborhood of varmints that have been systematically eating the insulation off my neighbors roof and every piece of fruit we grow. Quiet operation and exact accuracy were the points that brought me to the Marauder. Having read almost every review of every air rifle offered on this fabulous site to help me in finding the air rifle that I hoped would do the things that i require of it. The Marauder delivers. I use Crosman Premiers 10.5 and my marauder loves them. It also loves the Crosman Hollowpoint 7.9. Like all concerned backyard hunters I looked for a rifle that would provide the head shot that would keep the critters in my yard and not be sneaking off to die in my neighbors yard. If you are like me in that you want a quiet air rifle (not disturb the neighbors or draw their attention) the accuracy to deliver head shots at 15 yds (you might do better if you are more experienced with air rifles than I am) for as humane a kill as possible. Then I can't recommend a rifle more. Please remember to never shoot up. Know your background and to be patient, they'll come closer. I also want to thank all the sales people who helped me and answered all my questions. I want to also thank everyone of you who have written a review on this and every other rifle and pellet, scope, bi-pod and everything else. It was so informative and helped me greatly. Tom Gaylord's blogs. Wow. What a wealth of information. Buy this air rifle

Talk about Quiet, and no scope creep. The metal and wood on the Marauder are well finished. Although the trigger is plastic, it still breaks clean. Maybe someone will produce an aftermarket trigger assembly one day, but otherwise I have no complaints about the present trigger. I've heard problems about the bolt, but I haven't run into any issues. I'm able to use my index finger to work the bolt while shooting, and I'm not a big person - 5'2" tall. Accuracy is good to excellent, although I've only fired about 60-80 pellets and only as far as 30 yards so far. At 10 meters, it will shoot in the same hole if you do your part. I don't have any complaints about the magazine. Yes, its plastic, but so are a lot of firearm magazines. Am seriously considering buying a pony SCUBA tank in the future. Took about 150 pumps to bring it back up to 2000 psi from a 1000 psi. But maybe it's because I'm only 5/2". Things I would have changed:Although not a big issue - the trigger., and use steel, not aluminum.
Also, the length of pull is a little too long for my short arms, so I would ask that it come slightly shorter with a bunch of spacers for you tall folks. What others should know:I'm presently using Benjamin Discovery .22 hollow points. Little pricey at $15/500 at Sports Authority. Plan to try experimenting with Crosman Premiers (same manufacturer as the Benjamin pellets?). Pay attention when charging the magazine. I swung the cover in the opposite direction after charging all the slots, and it wouldn't work. I thought I had a lemon, but after playing around with it, I found out I had swung the cover the wrong way. After I corrected it, I didn't have any problems with it. I also like the built-in counter on the magazine - great idea! Lastly, don't forget your pump or air tank. I forgot mine after driving 15 miles to shoot and could only shoot about 30 shots. Once it hit 1000psi, accuracy drops a lot.

ACCURACY is excellent, dime groups from 25 yards & beyond, mine is .22 cal using Crosman Premier Hollow Points. Fit and finish are great for a $499 PCP, and, but for a beginner, this is I think the most ideal to own.
Running at 2500 PSI is easy with a scuba tank refill station and with the factory default settings, I can get 30+ solid shots. If you are so inclined to change the factory settings, you will have a ball doing so, as there are several combinations and settings that will fill every need of an air gun hobbyist/hunter.
I cannot even begin to describe how quiet the muzzle report is like others have said, you will wonder if this PCP has spent the pellet out and all you hear is that distinctive "ping" from the hammer hitting the valve. I have heard, you can even make this PCP even quieter with some mods out there to as close as being "dead silent"
The 10 shot repeater is outstanding! Coming from a single shot loading experience, the 10 shot is heaven sent. For the first time, I can focus on my target and not break my concentration with just one pull from the bolt to slide in the next round. And it has an counter/indexer to let you know at what shot you are in! What an ingenious design; not to mention the extra clips are priced reasonably less than the competition.
The Benjamin Marauder is total winner from Cossman, just like its sister, Discovery, this will find a strong niche in PCP. Things I would have changed:Perhaps, an upgraded stock and deep rich blueing, removable front and rear iron sights, carbon fiber stock for extremely environment, carbine version for lighter weight, and side lever action vice bolt. i guess these maybe in the generation of the Marauder II...will just have to wait and see.
What others should know:For your air source, I would recommend investing your hard earned money now for a SCUBA and the filling station accessories. I tried the air pump method, and I can only muster two fills in a day. By the time I fill to 2500 or 2800 PSI, I am completely sweating, tired, & shaking from trying to recover my strength and steadiness for the next round of 40+ shots. And believe me, you will not want to put this PCP down. And speaking of that, do yourself a favor, and buy loads & loads of spare 10 shot clips, believe me you can go through 80 shots in no time.
For those of you that have back yards, get or build yourself a quiet pellet trap. I built mine from an 8"WX11"HX4"D electrical junction box, I got 16 electrical duct seal "brick" compound. These are commonly called M.S. for those of you ex Navy type. The pellet trap is quiet and keeps your pellet lead dust from littering your backyard.
My .22 cal is so accurate from 25 yards that I can group 10 shots within a dime size. I would like to try the 50, 75, to 100 yards to see if I can see the same groups, but that meant going out in open country...perhaps one of these days. So if you in the new to PCPs and want an middle priced, accurate, with a 10 shot repeater, do yourself a favor and run to your nearest Benjamin Marauder dealer.

Things I liked:Accuracy, quietness, 10 shot magazine, adjustability of almost everything. Things I would have changed:too long.....2-3 inches too long for my gusto. Sell it with 3 magazines. What others should know:ANY PAINTBALL STORE FILLS it up!!! No need for pump/air tank/compressor if you don't want them.

Things I would have changed:Make the baffles in the shroud fit more snugly - I fear that pellets with large skirts may wind up clipping the baffles if they are off-center even a little. What others should know:I have #208. I first tried JSB pellets - it didn't shoot them well. So, I decided to try Crosman Premiers. I figured that it must shoot them well, since the gun was designed to shoot crosman ammo. Still, no! I was starting to think I had a "dud". So, I bought a 25 pellet sampler (google "pellet sampler"), and found out that my gun is as good as ever. I just need to feed it Beeman FTS dbl gold, or Beeman Kodiak/Kodiak dbl gold. So, now I have a near-silent, fully customizable PCP, that shoots light out. How can I give anything less than 5 stars when you consider the modest price (compared to European models).

This is the best value in a 20-30 foot-pound PCP. What others should know:This is a thinking person's gun. It has the ability to be adjusted to the shooter's preferences. It is a PCP, so you need to learn about that, but the literature makes it relatively easy.

Things I would have changed:Nothing. What others should know:This is a genuine fun gun. Benjamin has obviously been paying attention and has certainly got this one right. The upside of PCP power is multiple shots from a magazine, no pumping or loading between shots, no recoil, just plain shooting fun. This particular rifle has the additional upside of near silent shooting because of its barrel shroud design. The downside is, of course, compressed gas to make it work. Hand pumps work well but are not much fun and they are expensive. Power pumps are way expensive. Scuba gear and/or service can be expensive and difficult to obtain because it belongs to a specialized discipline. Carbon dioxide cartridges are convenient but can be expensive and difficult to locate and transport. Be sure to look beyond the rifle to what is required to keep it working. You could end up spending as much for compressed gas equipment as you did for the rifle, and unhappy surprises aren’t fun.

now is good, pump until you get 2000psi and get 30 powerful shoots, nice workout...

What others should know:All I can say is... WOW. I have several springers and one air piston gun - this is my first PCP. I am VERY glad I waited for the Marauder! This is my new "go to" gun for backyard pest control. I live near the shore, and although my yard is fairly sizable and fenced in, I still have neighbors pretty close on 3 sides.
This thing is so insanely quiet I can take out squirrels, grackles, rabbits, etc. all day long and no one even notices. When you read that the sound of the pellet striking the target is actually louder than the report itself - believe it!
Cannot say enough about this gun - absolutely love it. BUY ONE. You will not be disappointed.
(P.S. No, I do not work for Crosman...) :)

Check my vids in youtube if you're having problems with the clip.

My first shots were indoors and I would compare the sound to that of a Red Ryder BB gun. It is a very deceiving situation since the gun almost isn't making any noise but it's delivering plenty of power at the target. Pyramyd Air shot the gun prior to shipping it to me (see the 10 for $10 offer) and provided the chrono tape. I had to guess they filled it to 2,000 psi and it started in the upper 900's for the first shot and appeared to be consistent during the string. The manual advises that it may take 150 shots to obtain desired consistency.
I shot a couple of groups when I started out and at 10 yards (that's all the room I had) and I obtained groups that were under .3" and one was .195". These were fired with the gun mounted on a Lead Sled DFT which helps a lot.
When fired outside, I'm not sure the gun would be heard past fifty feet. I'm still trying to find the best pellet but I tried Crossman Preimier's (the light ones), Champion's Choice rifle weight and RWS H Points and it really didn't make a lot of difference at 25 yards. My groupings were around 1/2" and I didn't have a very good rest at the time so I'm sure it will do much better. I haven't had time to make any trigger adjustments but out of the box it was around 1.5 lbs and breaks pretty clean. I'd like to adjust some of the first stage travel out as it's too long for me. Things I would have changed:I agree with most of the others that the clip feels and looks a bit cheesy, but it seems to work very well so far. It would be nice to have an option to fit it with iron sights.
There were some reviews that groused about the checkering but I think you should keep in mind that they were trying to produce a gun around the $500 mark and something as insignificant as checkering doesn't need to be hand filed or razor sharp. The provided checkering is quite adequate for it's purpose. What others should know:Before I bought the Marauder, I was torn between it and the Airforce Talon SS. After I bought the Benjamin, I was able to shoot it side by side with a Talon SS and they are pretty close in performance and accuracy, although, at that time, the Marauder was turning in slightly better groups than the SS. The SS owner said he was sorry he'd fired the Marauder as he now wants one too. The Marauder is noticeably quieter than the SS.
The Marauder is adjustable for the amount of air usage but I have not yet experimented with it, being satisfied with the performance of the factory settings for what I do which is mostly indoors at 10 meters.
If you have not yet delved into the PCP market, I would really recommend this one as a place to start. Almost no noise and nearly no perceptible recoil is more fun than you can imagine. I already had a scuba tank set up for my Steyr pistol, so it didn't take much to set up for fills on the rifle. I hope to give the C02 a try shortly.
If you are thinking about the PCP guns, be sure to call Pyramyd Air and ask questions as they will really take the time to make sure you have what you need to get going when the gun arrives. They spent a ton of time answering all my questions and finding out what eqiupment I had so they could provide me with the correct adapters. I'm also a fan of the 10 for $10 since you know it's going to work when it arrives.

I'm new to PCP's and have very little experience with airguns generally, except for a Gamo 440 I've had for 10-15 years, so the sensation of no recoil and no noise, yet the pigeons and starlings appearing to get hit HARD.. is a really weird yet satisfying experience. Things I would have changed:The stock feels plenty wide to carry for my tastes, but the gun does feel surprisingly light, so it works for me What others should know:Like others my barrel was off center, but it was a quick fix to loosen the barrel band set screws and let the barrel/shroud assembly spring back to center. Accuracy improved and after resiting in it is fun just to let the shots stack on top of each other. I pulled the harris bipod off my .223 ground hog rifle, put it on the Marauder. and was even hitting dirt clods at 90 yds (lasered) with monotonous regularity once I figured out which mildot on the scope to use. To sum up, it does a lot more than I thought an airgun could do. The old Gamo shot a lot of starlings but this gun makes it so EASY.

This rifle gives the European manufacturers a real run for the money. No, it's not an Air Arms, or Daystate, but for those of us who want a quality PCP and don't care to spend $1000 or more, it's nice to have a choice that gets you 80% there for 50% the price. Great fit and finish in an American made product, you have to like that! Things I would have changed:The stock is a bit wide for my taste, but not a real issue. My Marauder is very pellet fussy, liking only Kodiaks (but deadly accurate with them). What others should know:You will need a pump or other high pressure air source to charge the gun. This is the way it works with PCP airguns. You will have to buy your air source separately when you purchase a PCP gun (very few exceptions here). I've seen a couple complaints to this effect, so I'm assuming this can come as a surprise if you've not been exposed to PCP guns before.

And I would have used a metal insert to secure the sling studs, instead of just screwing them into the wood. What others should know:This is an update to my earlier review. I have received my new trigger assembly from Crosman, and it is of much better quality. They have replaced the lower sear link with a tempered metal (steel, possibly), and used stronger springs. My rifle now functions flawlessly. I don't know why it wasn't made like this from the start, but...Anyway, Crosman's customer service could not have been better. Not only did I not get some crappy automated reply about sending it to a service center, I didn't even have to argue about it. The first response I received (the next morning) was, "Sorry about that. A new trigger assembly is on the way. Please send us back the old one (at our expense) so we can avoid future problems". Four days later I had my new assembly installed. It's nice to see some companies actually still care about their customers and reputations.

To setup for 3000 psi requires much testing, firing, adjusting & patience. My first 7 shots hung in the barrel and required the cleaning rod to remove them. What others should know:If I had it to do over again, I would not buy this rifle. It's heavy and un-weldy...The Air Venturi Hailstorm is more Rifle for less money. After waiting weeks for delivery, I'm very disappointed with this thing.... It's gonna spend a lot of time in the gun safe...

I am a Benjamin fan so I love the laser etched name on the underside, simplicity of design, ability to adjust from low fps to higher. High cheek stock, smooth bolt action. Things I would have changed:At the time of my purchase Crossman's packaging of the product is very bad and causes some rifles to arrive with the barrel shifted off to one side. This happens if the rifle is handled roughly in transit and maybe because only 2 screws hold the barrel shroud in place. I called Crossman to alert them and they said they were working on the packaging to fix that issue. To fix the barrel I had to loosen 2 allen screws on the end of the barrel band and eyeball it back straight. I had trigger problems also. Like one of the other reviews I fired 6 times the day I received the rifle and the trigger broke. It just flopped back and forth. Called Crossman again and they mailed me a whole new trigger assembly which I installed after having no instruction or experience doing so. They said they were aware of the trigger issues and were fixing it. What others should know:After the barrel and trigger issues I couldn't imagine this gun was going to work and had assurance from Pyramid Air that they would send me a new one if I was not pleased (kudos to them). I purchased a BSA MD416X40IR scope and sighted in at 50 yards with only a chair to prop on with a 10 - 14 mph wind at my back. I zeroed in 15 shots and was shooting groupings of half inch to 7/8 inch from 50 yards. What a remarkable rifle. I am very comfortable with the rifle after the maintenance I had to perform to get it working. I have put about 50 rounds through it an cannot wait to shoot more. I am very pleased with the responsiveness of Crossman on fixing the issues and providing USA based support.

Things I would have changed:Power adjustment without removing stock. What others should know:There seems to be barrel droop with the couple of scope mounts and three different brand of scopes I've tried. You'll need to shim or get the b-mount adjustable rings based on the one gun I've tried. Watch the Crossman video on the magazine if you have trouble understanding the printed directions provided (which could be clearer). I think you end up cocking the firing pin whenever you extract the magazine (so you have to shoot a blank afterward) or at least I don't know if there is a way of avoiding this when done shooting. Gun came set up tuned for 2500 psi from factory. Benjamin pump is easy to get to this pressure. Took me about 210 strokes to get there from empty. Takes about 10 to pressurize pump and then about 60 more to get from 1900 back to 2500.

Standardize the quality of metal throughout the rifle. What others should know:BE CAREFUL OF THE TRIGGER ASSEMBLY! I can't comment on the accuracy of the rifle as I have yet to be able to fire a single shot. My trigger assembly essentially disintegrated on my first shot. As it turns out, most of the assembly (sear, link, safety lever, and trigger) are made of a zinc alloy commonly referred to as "pot metal". Not what I would have expected in a $500 rifle. The barrel, reservoir, receiver and bolt all appear to be machined aluminum or steel. But the only steel parts in the trigger assembly are the roll pins and springs. I hope that this is just an anomaly, and is not going to be a common problem. I have already contacted Crosman about this, and will hopefully receive a reply soon.

The quality of all of the parts of the rifle, how they look and how they fit together tells me that this is one fine weapon. Things I would have changed:Absolutely nothing. What others should know:I am a novice when it comes to airguns, but not to firearms. I purchased this airgun in order to get rid of the ground squirrel pests on my property. Because of my urban environment and the range that I would be firing, 30 to 50 yards, I was looking for a quiet and accurate weapon. I needed one-shot kills and I did not want to alert the neighbors. I got both of these qualities with this air rifle. I purchased the .22 caliber rifle, the ammo, the pump, the scope, and mounts from pyramidair.com. Everything showed up very well boxed. No damages whatsoever. I mounted the scope and pumped up the gun to 2800 psi, set up my quiet target trap and zero’d the scope using the Crosman Premier hollowpoint 14.3 grains pellets that I purchased. Then I went hunting. End of pests. I noticed while I was shooting that the report from the muzzle was not scaring the squirrels. In one session, I dispatched three squirrels from the same clip within 30 seconds. I am very well pleased with the quality of this rifle. By the way, did I mention that it was quiet. Whisper quiet.

Things I would have changed:Nothing on the rifle. Have a option for more clips on the order page. What others should know:I used only Crossman Premiers as they worked and shot so perfectly. I used three clips during the super easy sight in, and checked it at various ranges, again with just the 2000 psi fill, had no point of impact shift. Used some two piece medium height bases that I had left over after replacing them on hard recoiling springers, and a 3.8X12 Simmons that I used to have on my 222 Rem.
Ordered this on the first cycle, came on time, once again the super good service you always get from Pyramyd.
Do what you have to do to buy this air rifle, you can have my other 6, but don't touch my Marauder! I think 22 is the way to go with this rifle, it would be a shame to waste it on 177.
Order a bunch of Crossman Premiers when you order this rifle, they shoot and function super well.

Things I liked:I most say that I love the stock and the wood work on this gun, I love the 10 shot magazine and how quite the rifle is. The power seems to be very good (don’t have a chrony) I shot through ¾ inch board at 40 yards. was busting walnuts at 40-45 yards, is that ccurate or what. Things I would have changed:The ten shot

What others should know:Buy plenty of pellets you will go through them in no time at all.

Things I liked:GUYS! The 177 cal. is great! comes from the factory tuned to 850 with cp 10.50gr pellets. You don't have to change a thing on this rifle. Ordered the .22 cal., hope it is as good as the .177. I got 40 shots with this tune. Things I would have changed:Not a thing!!!! What others should know:This rifle

Things I liked:I also got one of the first 100, mine is in 22cal. The power, I chronographed at 950fps with a 16 gr Predator getting just a hair over 32 foot pounds of ME. Accuracy is outstanding, can take a 12ga shotgun shell off a stump at 75yds (good scope). I get 30-35 shots per fill of 2800lbs. This will be my go to squirrel getter.

I have several Airforce guns and I believe this gun is even more accurate than they are. This thing is very very quite, I would recommend this to anyone wanting a PCP. It is a well made gun and would be a great deal at twice the price but don't tell Crosman that. Things I would have changed:should come with two magazines, you can order form Crosman for $15.00. Correct the mags to accept longer pellets. What others should know:The magazine will not accept a longer pellet like the JSB Predator. This can be overcome with the right tool, a 1/4 in router bit to shave a grove in the mag cover and the problem is solved.

Pellets that are a little bit oversized do not load in to the clip easily..some times the bolt seemed to not go in all the way...I pulled it back to get it go in and loaded in double pellets. Need more experince to see if this is really an issue. Include or make availble a single shot tray. Need more clips What others should know:Use high quality pellets if you want easy loading to clip

Things I liked:Just about everything! Beautiful craftsmanship, power, accuracy and great price compared to the competition. Many adjustments can be made to the trigger, and power settings. It can use either CO2 or air. Magazine indexing of shots lets you know how many are left. Best aspect it is very quiet. I would compare the noise to shooting

Many adjustments can be made to the trigger, and power settings. It can use either CO2 or air. Magazine indexing of shots lets you know how many are left. Best aspect it is very quiet. I would compare the noise to shooting a low power Daisy bb gun. Really cool, American made quality airgun. I will be using this one a lot since I will not be worrying about disturbing the neighborhood with loud shots. Things I would have changed:The magazine could be made more durably and more shipped with the airgun. There was just one mag shipped in the box along with a degassing tool. Add instructions on how to unload/load pellets from a fully/partially loaded magazine (just in case a bad pellet is mistakenly loaded or one wants to change the ammo type or just to add pellets to maintain a full mag.) What others should know:Recommend buy several magazines when they come available and lots of pellets. Watch the videos at the Crosman site especially prior to mag loading and making any adjustments. Got the #1 of the first 100 Marauder sold, but got scope/accessories/ammo and the Discovery pump that works w/Marauder here...good service. Get the accessories prior...you'll want to start shooting right away. This one will become #1 PCP Airgun.... its that good.
