Things I liked:My Marauder is the most accurate heavy hitter long range .17 caliber air rifle I own. After I turned up the velocity. I am getting 1150 FPS with 7.9gr Crosman Points and 1050 FPS with 10.5gr Crosman Premiers with devastating accuracy. I am getting 1150 FPS with 7.9gr Crosman Points and 1050 FPS with 10.5gr Crosman Premiers with devastating accuracy. I did not even try any of the super light pellets because the 7.9gr pellets were cracking like a .22, after breaking the sound barrier. The ten shot rotary magazine works very smoothly, which makes shooting this rifle a lot more fun than a single shot.
Things I would have changed:I personally like a carbine length barrel, which the Marauder is not, (there is a reason for its length). I would have put the main trigger tension adjustment screw and the velocity adjustment where they could be accessed without taking the stock off the action. I would also turn the pressure guage over 180 degrees, so it could be read it easier from the standing position. Crosman should have printed a more informative manual to match the level of sophistication of this air rifle. A lot of people do not have a chronograph to tune their gun. What others should know:Before you shoot your new Marauder for the first time, be sure and clean the bore. My string type bore cleaner would not go through the baffels, so I had to use a cleaning rod. To adjust to higher velocity. I turned the velocity adjustment screw out to 3 1/2 turns from bottom, the stock adjustment was 2 1/2 turns from bottom, I adjusted in one turn on the hammer tension spring and out one turn on the hammer travel length to achieve the velocities printed above, with a full 3000psi charge.

Things I liked:Trigger is very good, choked barrel, 10 shot repeater, overall quality, very silent. and accurate. good looking. but most of all is 3 variable adjustment for power, you can almost adjust it for any speed you want, from maybe 350 fps to 1000 fps. its a great air rifle, and the price is good to. I got the rifle in .22 caliber and i "accidentally" shot my fence, and unfortunately the fence was not strong enough to withstand the impact, so the pellet went through my fence and hit my neighbors fence on the other side (another 50-55 yards). I heard 2 impacts one right after the other. I was shooting through an inch of MDF board and the pellets were embedding themselves into my fence right behind it. It's not too heavy for me, and i dry fired it inside my room and was amazed with how quiet it is. When i shot it outside, hitting the MDF particle board was louder than the actual shot. Things I would have changed:The "ping" sound after you fire it. I would love some open sites on it. I wish the magazine can hold larger pellets, I wish they threw in those single shot trays for free because my fat fingers can't fit inside. I wish they gave you a choice on the side of the magazine, because i've heard that the older models had magazine that loaded on the left side. Since i'm a right handed shooter, it would be easier for me to see how many shots i have left. I wouldn't mind seeing this air rifle in a synthetic black stock. (this thing is a scratch magnet) Pyramydair did an awesome job at protecting the air rifle and pump. BUT i bought a combo package so it came with a pump and 500 rounds of the benjamin 14.3 grain hollow point pellets. It also came with a tin of crossman pointed pellets. they sort of just threw them in the box without their infamous protective wrapping of the pellets (which i didn't really care for) but somewhere between pyramydair and my house the box had this GIGANTIC hole in the center of it, i was actually carrying it in a way where one of the tins and extra magazine i bought slipped out. The box they used was tough as nails, so.... what's up UPS? The hole was bigger than the packing label... What others should know:The part of the gun that is "choked", or where that metal band sort of links the air reservoir and the barrel was kind of out of center. I used a 5/64 allen wrench to loosen it and center it.
