The 760 Pumpmaster is what all the other multi-pump pneumatics want to be! In production for decades, over 10 million have been sold. It shoots BBs or .177 pellets and does so with power and accuracy.
At less than 3 lbs., it's a great starter air rifle. The stock and forearmThe forward part of a rifle stock that is gripped by the non-firing hand.
are made of a durable synthetic that takes lots of use and still looks good. An economical rifle, the Pumpmaster takes up to 10 pumps to send BBs 625 fpsFeet per second, usually written f.p.s.
and pellets 600 fps. The checkeringA method of carving wood that leaves diamond-shaped protrusions to assist in gripping the gun. Also used for decoration. Sometimes incorrectly called knurling, which is a metal-cutting term that produces roughly the same pattern as checkering.
on the grip and the indentations on the pump handle make it that much easier to get a grip and stay on target.
Ideal for shooting very small rodents (at close range), plinking and target shooting. (Never shoot BBs at metal objects!) It's so light that you can shoot all day! Suitable for younger shooters (with adult supervision) and smaller adults.
Pellets are loaded into a 5-shot clip, while BBs have an 18-shot magazine, which is fed from the 200-shot reservoir. It comes with a fiber optic front sight, but you can get even more accuracy by mounting a scope or red dot on the 11mm dovetail.

Things I liked:Easy shooting, accurate and fun. What more is there?

What others should know:I first got my 760 in 1973. It served faithfully and reliably for many years. The other day after probably sitting idle for nearly two decades, I brought it out of its long hibernation. What a delight this gun is! It STILL shoots good and on target. I love the fact that it smooth bore barrel allows both pellets and BBs to be fired. Darn near perfection.

Things I liked:The accuracy is unbelievable. I shot seven perfect bullseyes out of the first seven shots straight out of the box without any sight adjustment.
Things I would have changed:You are kidding right? It was a great little gun back in the 60's when I was growing up. It is still great in the 21st century. Don't change a thing!

What others should know:It does take some effort to pump this one up. That is something to keep in mind with younger shooters.

Things I liked:Its small size and light weight makes it a good starter's gun for children. The accuracy is sufficient for learning the basics of sight picture and trigger squeeze. Even a youngster seven or eight years old, if carefully supervised, can manage the three pumps required for a decent group at 10 meters.

Even a youngster seven or eight years old, if carefully supervised, can manage the three pumps required for a decent group at 10 meters.
Things I would have changed:The barrel attachment to the receiver is fundamentally weak, easily thrown askew by a bump. The hex screw attachment of the earlier Crosmans is much stronger. Also, a simple adjustable rear should be standard for a learner's first rifle. The rifle should come with 2 or 3 magazines.
What others should know:Other than its diminutive size, the Crosman 760 has nothing over the Powerline pump up series of 177/BB guns with their rifled barrels and superior accuracy.

Things I liked:Everything about this gun is beast. For $38 dollars look at what you get. Accuracy like you wouldn't expect, enough power for birds and mice, ease of cocking/handling, portability.... the list goes on and on.
Things I would have changed:Hmmmmmmm..... nothing!

What others should know:Really what more could you ask for? If your just starting out there is no better gun than this one. Well shoot, even if you've used airguns for 50 years you'll have a blast with this one. I live in the middle of the city and my neighbors cant even hear it when it fires, but the first few are fairly loud. Buy this gun and 4 packs of Game Pro Magnums, they shoot extremely well in it, and you cant go wrong!

Things I would have changed:Something that makes the sights stay in place better
What others should know:This is a cheaply priced pellet gun, but it's very well made and can take some abuse. Aim for the right spot and its lethal to a squirrel at 30 feet with a pointed pellet and 7 pumps. There are lots better of course, but for the price and if youre not looking for something fancy, this is it. BUY IT.

I had one when I was a teen and it worked great for years. These don't last forever though. I'd have to agree with the other poster that Pellets are more accurate in this particular air gun.If your looking for a gun that's gonna last MANY years, this isn't the one you want.
Things I would have changed:change the elevation ramp to metal instead of plastic, change the front sight to metal but leave the fiber optic sight on it, switch the plastic stock for wood, replace the forearm with wood aswell, add some rifleing to the smooth bore to increase accuracy, improve the BB resevoire to keep it from sliding open while in use.change all the action to aircraft grade aluminum, change the working insides to metal aswell.
What others should know:It fits youth or smaller statured people better. 600FPS is really fast for this
level of air gun,so be sure to teach any children that may be recieving this BB/Pellet gun proper handleing and use before allowing them to fire it
without supervision. Also, teach them respect for firearms regardless of whether it shoots BB's/pellets or bullets. ALWAYS POINT THE BARREL IN A SAFE DIRECTION,LOADED OR NOT !!!!

Things I liked:What I love about this gun is its overall package for for a great price! This gun is great for beginners because of its price and everything that you get out of it. The one thing that I really liked is the power of the gun. With only ten pumps you get up to 600FPS with pellets at only $38. Most of the other youth guns that I have seen for this same price are only about 300 to 450 FPS with bbs. But don't let the cheap price of the gun fool you it does not lack quality. I have had my 760 for two years now and have had no problems except for pumping the gun more then ten times but that was my own fault and I fixed that. Mostly everything else is good about this gun is great except for the accuracy witch is not that bad. It is some what accurate with pellets but if you are shooting bbs they will fly all over the place. I do not need to say much more pyramyair tells you what you need to know im just doing this so you have a persons opinion.
Things I would have changed:Make the grip of the stock a little bigger.
What others should know:When the manual says don't pump the gun more then ten times LISTEN or it will not work and I am serious.
