.22 Quest 800X has fiber optic front and rear (adjustable) sights, a built-in scope stop and hardwood Monte Carlo stock. Includes 4x32 scope (not mounted). In Stock
Includes 4x32mm scope (not mounted). Take small game, plink or shoot targets with the Quest 800. This rifle sends .22 pellets screaming out the barrel at 800 fps! With only 37 lbs. cocking effort, this lightweight, powerful rifle is ideal for hours of serious shooting.
The hardwood stock on this spring-piston breakbarrel rifle has a Monte Carlo buttstock. Details on this rifle make it obvious that Crosman put a lot of thought into the design of this handsome all-round airgun. The fiber optic front and rear (fully adjustable) sights (green front, two-dot red rear) ensure ease in acquiring your targets, even at dusk and dawn. To get the most accuracy from this rifle, mount the included scope on the 11mm dovetails. Don't worry about your mounts sliding off the dovetails; Crosman included a scope stop to support them whenever this powerhouse fires!
The two-stage trigger is adjustable only for take-up (length of the first stage).

Almost forgot, this springer shoots almost any pellet, for best results crosman premiers, RWS Hollow and Gamo's dome. I like everything of it!!! Things I would have changed:Crosman must have more details with the stock, it is good but fragile, also the screws that supports the main tube came loose, you have to secure them with a thread lock. What others should know:All crosman barrels came dirty inside, remember to clean your barrel first, My 800 X came with a crosman sight, it proof not to be good because of the invert recoil, as I used mine for rat control I kept the iron (plastic really) sight. that is good for me.

Sights are actually good also, some have complained that they are too cheap but I liked the brightness of the fiberoptic. Pretty decent speed. I had the ten for ten done and the velocity settled in after the first 5. Averaged 723fps with a 17fps deviation with 13.9wt pellets. I am anxious to try it with different pellets to see what groups the best. Nice finish on the gun also. Things I would have changed:Not much. I could nitpick and say more speed and maybe all steel sights but with the overall price it is still a good buy. What others should know:Nope.

The barrel is rifled so deep that when you look down it, it looks like you could stick you fingers right in them. This really makes for an accurate rifle, as it allows the pellets to grab the barrel and put a good spin on them; helping increase accuracy. The stock is solid wood, with a nice satin finish. The sites on the rifle itself, are almost as good as any rifle I have ever owned, including a couple of military rifles. When I first bought this rifle I put the scope on it, and it was "Out of the Box Accurate", shooting Quarter size groups at 25 yards. Things I would have changed:As far as finding something to change, the only thing I had problems with when I received the rifle, was getting the barrel open. I had to hold it with one hand, and kind of whack the end of it with the other hand. I had to do that for a while, but either got used to it, or it got used to me. What others should know:This gun is powerful, it's not a kids toy, it's an adults toy. When you go to pump this rifle, get ready, it's a tough pump right off. That's about it for this gun. I bought several different types of Pellets with it, and have to say I couldn't tell the difference. I have been cleaning the area up of unwanted critters, and haven't found one yet that I have had a problem with.

This thing hits like a sledge hammer!! I was shooting at a beeman pellet trap at 25 yards and putting dents in the metal that almost went through using crosman .22 domed premires. You could see and feel the bumps in the back of the trap and even dented below on the richochet! had to stop and save the trap for .177's. Seriously I have to find a real steel trap this gun will eat through sheet metal. Stll playing with different pellets premire crosman's domed best so far. Accuracy is me because good groups using a rest and resting in palm so freehand is me. Things I would have changed:Wish it had swivels to mount a sling. Using the gamo buddy but it tends to slide up a lot, better than nothing cause this gun is heavy to carry all day. What others should know:For the money, I really don't think you can meet or surpass this gun for power, serious impact. Varmints nightmare at a really good price! I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've had it 4 months and really impressed with the value of this rifle.

I'd asked Pyramid Air to check it out before shipping and this is what they reported:
With RWS H-point Pellet 14.2 grains
#1 745.42 fps
#2 739.19 fps
#3 730.31 fps
#4 738.69 fps
#5 745.61 fps
I ran outside to shoot it before the rains came. It's a keeper! After about a dozen shots it started grouping well with Daisy Precision Max .22 flat-nosed pellets. I was shooting one hole groups and cloverleafs at 10 meters with iron sights off the patio table before the rains came. (Rats!!)
It's fairly light at 6-1/2 pounds, but doesn't seem very hold sensitive. I think I'll shoot open sights for a while - it reminds me of my younger days. The stock is only lightly finished - almost a natural satin feel. Stock is slightly thicker than my Gamo Hunter and has about 3/4 inch longer pull even though Gamo is about 1 inch longer overall. I'm 5' 11" with long arms and I must admit it feels better to the shoulder than my Gamo. The Quest also has a rubber butt which steadies my aim somewhat.
The trigger is about 4 lbs pull and only slight creep. it's perfectly adequate for a sporter rifle. Anyway, I'm very pleased with the Crosman Quest 800X at first blush. It's made in China but much better quality than I expected. Things I would have changed:I've found the plastic fixed sights to be a little "flimsy" for real target shooting, but more than adequate for small game hunting. At 61 my eyesight is not what it used to be to say the least. However, the glow sights help me a lot - just put the GREEN dot between the two RED dots, sit target on top of GREEN dot, and let her rip. The plastic sight adjustments are not solid clicks, but a little mushy. However, I had no problems sighting-in and after about 15 shots they stayed locked in place. What others should know:I haven't mounted the scope yet, but it appears useable - it's a Centerpoint 4X32 with parallax adjusted for 30 yards.
This Quest really locks up TIGHT! I have to tap the muzzle kind of firmly or break the breech gently over my knee to cock and load. Speaking of cocking, this Quest is a monster! You can really "feel" the power. You certainly don't need a "bow flex" for a good workout.
Speaking of power, my backstop is exterior 1/2 inch plywood. I decided to test it with Crosman Premier Hollow Points at 10 meters. First CPHP blew right through the backstop! Next, I tried some soft lead Daisy Precision Max Wadcutters (flat nose). The wads almost made it through leaving a huge bulge on the back side. Wow! For a springer, the Quest has a lot of power - more than enough for small game.

I have heard the scope doesn't stay mounted, but I haven't mounted mine yet as the tru-glow sights are very good. I will mount scope after break in and tune period. What others should know:You can replace the trigger in this gun with an improved GRT III trigger. This gun is easy to tune and the .22 pellets have good knock down power. I have heard the accuracy is improved with the replacement trigger and a good tuning. i haven't performed these yet on mine though.

What others should know:Very loud for the first 8 or 10 shots but will settle down the more you shoot. Mine is very picky on which type of pellet it likes. Just shoot a variety and go with the one it likes best. My 800 doesn't like heavy pellets such as the Beeman Crow Magnum for example, but loves the Precision Max Wadcutters by Daisy! They gave me a penny size group the first day of shooting at normal shooting ranges. Much tighter groups than the others I tried. Crosman Premier Hollowpoints did ok but nothing to brag about. Good hunting rifle for squirrel and wabbits and other small game at medium ranges! I do recommend.

Things I would have changed:I replaced the trigger with a charliedatuna GRT-III. The gun shoots excellent with the upgrade. The web site is also cool for other related info. For $32.00 it is an easy fix and keeps the total purchase well under $200.00 What others should know:The rear sight is an awful cheap plastic creation. I had to heat the plastic up with a heat gun to adjust. Although at 25' I can hold nickel size groups with the RWS superpoint 14.5 gr. pellets. These pellets have also proven to shoot the best for me. The weight of the pellet is just about right for the stock main spring.

It took me a little bit to zero it in, but once I got it, it has stayed. Granted, I am generally only shooting at 50-75 ft distances, but I have bagged 2 raccoons, 5 squirrels and a woodchuck with this. I think perhaps people are not tightening the scope down enough because the spring can be jarring. After about 30 - 40 rounds, this gun quiets down quite a bit. While sighting it in, I had a target on a 1'' thick board tacked to a pine tree. It went through the board, and into the tree at 50ft.

Things I would have changed:The open sights, especially the rear, are useless. When I first shot the rifle, it was hitting the target about 3 to 4 inches high. I lowered the rear sight as far as it would go and it still shot high. Yes, I made sure the screws were tight. I have as of yet to clean the barrel, that may make a difference. I would have preferred to buy this rifle without the cheesy scope and add my own later, but hey, it only came as a package. I am constantly adjusting the scope...it never seems to stay on target. I couldn't believe it. When cocking the rifle, it is normal for it to seem a bit rough, like something grinding...it's the spring and piston settling in. It will get better after about 250 shots, and the rifle will become smoother and quieter. A good rifle for younger shooters, as long as supervised...this isn't a toy.

Things I would have changed:The scope as other reviews have stated doesn't work on this gun! I don't know if it wasn't designed for springers or what but it doesn't stay on target more than a few shots. I suggest saving yourself time and pellets by not even putting the scope on to try it. Don't throw it away though because it works fine on other guns like my 2260. The plastic sights would be much better if they were metal. And obviously more speed would't hurt any gun! What others should know:There is definitely a lot of hunting potential for this gun. If you're a smallgame airgun hunter on a budget this gun should fill all your needs.

My longest shots are usually 40 yards (measured - not guessed), at Blue Jays, crows, blackbirds and tree rats. Most have been center shots that drop the pests like they were hit by a train. Things I would have changed:Drop the included rings & scope. The scope is too sensitive to eye relief, and two piece rings are useless. Lower the price by $15 with the deletions, and you have a very accurate rifle costing a pittance. This bargain priced rifle shoots as well as my most accurate .22 rimfires - with no noise issues.

Things I liked:Value is great for the money. hit hard and is great both hunting and target partice. Look GREAT! Things I would have changed:the "iron" sight need something better for this beuitful gun. Take alot of time to scope in the scope. What others should know:Be pationt with the scope and it will be dead on accerout

Things I liked:Power! Very much increase in knockdown over my old 755fps .177cal! Fairly accurate, though I shoot wadcutters, which arent the most accurate anyways. Nice rubber end on the stock for comfort. Things I would have changed:The sights... They arent too bad just could be not so flimsy and the clicks could be a little more

Nice rubber end on the stock for comfort. Things I would have changed:The sights... They arent too bad just could be not so flimsy and the clicks could be a little more well defined. The scope that came with wasn't all that great either... What others should know:The gun was very hard to cock for about the first 10-15 shots, then got a little easier. Finish on the wood wasn't as shiny as it looks in the picture either. Inside where the pellet goes was very oily too... might need to wipe off a little excess.

I use it weekly in a residential setting(plinking and pest control) without disturbing the neighbors. Things I would have changed:definitely upgrade the scope. quality control on the open sights. Took more than a little while to line the sights up. A beginner would find it virtually impossible to do. What others should know:expect all crosman air rifles to go thru some dieseling for the first 10-25 shots. smelling oil burning is very common in new rifles so don't panic it goes away quickly

Things I liked:For the price I paid this is not a bad air rifle. Comes close to it's rated power & handles 14 - 15 gr pellets at better than average velocities and power for an "economy" air rifle. Hits hard, blasts through 5/8" particle board @ ranges of 30 - 35 yd, penetrates soft spruce construction lumber 1/2 - 3/4" dependent upon density

Hits hard, blasts through 5/8" particle board @ ranges of 30 - 35 yd, penetrates soft spruce construction lumber 1/2 - 3/4" dependent upon density of the particular spot on the wood. Over all not a bad little air rifle for plinking away at medium sized targets from a little distance out. Things I would have changed:The scope is less than desirable, I replaced it with a little better air rifle scope I had on hand. Factory open sights are flimsy and easily bumped out of zero. What others should know:Accuracy is as expected for this level of economy air rifle, good at ranges of less than 15 yd, sporadic with best groups in the ≤ 2" range from 35 yd out, even off of sand bag rests. Sufficient to take out possums @ 35 - 40 yd, but go for the lethal zones of the thorax, still a quick kill with a 15 gr hunting pellet. I gave tis rifle some benefit of doubt in the ratings and review........ just what would one expect out of an "800fps" .22 cal air rifle for < $130.00??!

What others should know:Runs smooth with H&N Baracuda Match (Beeman Kodiak) 21.14gr domed pellets and groups 5 to 9mm at 10 meters with scope and practice. Was able to shoot through 1/2" plywood cleanly and bury a pellet (measuring from the tip) 3/4" into a pine 2x4. My first springer. Took me a few months and tins of pellets to get consitant groupings. Air rifle is hold sensitive.

Things I liked:After, over one year of owning this rifle, I can finally comment on it. Nice stock, and barrel finish (it actually looks like if it were a more expensive rifle. Not too heavy. Light cocking effort. Things I would have changed:Plastic sights, are cheap. This rifle deserves better sights What others should know:Scope's a joke (toy scope), you'll be better off ordering a good quality scope. This rifle takes a few hundreds rounds for top performance. dieseling was minimum, and gone after 100 shots. Locktite is in order for this rifle screws, they keep loosening every few hundred rounds. At first it was every 40 to 60 shots. I find the recoil to be on the light side.

Things I liked:Very sweet shooting gun for the money. Cocking effort is light considering the power. Trigger is relatively crisp for this price range. Sights are very good though somewhat delicate. More than enough power for squirrels and jays

Things I liked:Price Things I would have changed:Quality Control!!! The gun I got must have been defective...no WAY was it going thru 3/4" plywood as stated in another review. It couldnt even bury pellets 100% into any type of wood. The scope/mount was hard to judge because I never truly figured out what was wrong with the gun.

It couldnt even bury pellets 100% into any type of wood. The scope/mount was hard to judge because I never truly figured out what was wrong with the gun...BUT the scope did not allow me to see things well....you had to be looking in a very certain angle to get a decent picture...that's gotta go.
I think there might have been a barrell lockup problem? If so, it needs fixed. What others should know:I couldnt get this gun/scope combo OR this gun and a known good scope to group any less than 3" at 10 yards!!! 700 pellets trying everything under the sun....I think the gun was just plain defective.
If you get a good one I'm sure its a good value.
