Things I would have changed:The gun was drilled at the top for a scope stop but mine didn't come with a scope stop so i would include that. I would also make it easier to open and a little quieter. What others should know:The gun might be a little loud for suburban use, when i first opened the gun i could not get the barrel to break open so i had to put it on the edge of a table and hit the barrel very hard until it opened. it is some what hard to open after you first open it but the more you use it the easier it is to use.

Things I liked:well put together and nice finish work, sights are great,if you care to use them Things I would have changed:not too much a little nicer triger pull maybe, takes some getting use to. What others should know:really good way to get comfortable with a spring gun without breaking the bank

Things I would have changed:Trigger is stiff, tie wrap the return spring to the trigger and it pulls almost as easy as my CDTIII. Scope mounts will not hold the scope, and they slide on the receiver, I ended up buying a Crosman one piece mount that solved the problem. What others should know:This gun is nearly as accurate as my Gamo CFX. It is made in China, but seems to be built very well. We probably have put about 1,000 rounds through it with no problems at all. A little hard to cock for my 11 year old, but he is getting the hang of it. I would recommend this gun to anyone who wants a low priced air rifle.

Very light compared to my other springers ( RWS Panther and Ruger Air Hawk ) and I thought this would be just a beater rifle or an experiment one to tear into and try and tune. Things I would have changed:The scope rings were terrible junk and the phillips screws on them are a waste of time trying to tighten. Also, the pointed stop pin on the rear ring doesn't seat very well into the scope stop hole . I bought a pair of Leapers scope rings and threw those in the trash !! The scope that comes with this package was NOT an adjustable objective and I think the parallax is set to about 35 yards. Nice scope but won't do for accuracy at 10 and 20 yard shooting. I will put the scope on one of my 10/22's and use it for plinking though since the glass is pretty clear. What others should know:I tried about 10 different pellets and couldn't get any accuracy out of this rifle !! It definitley has some power going over my chrony about 920 fps with 8.2 grain pellets but I couldn't get any better than about a 5 inch group at 20 yards. This rifle ended up selling in my garage sale last week and at least I got a decent scope out of the deal !!

After that, the gun steadily gets quieter... Unless you use Crosman Silver Eagle Hollow Points, then the supersonic crack (of the pellet) makes the gun louder than a .22 rimfire. The gun cocks well, (just remember to give the barrel a firm tap, first, ... this knocks the barrel's elbow hinge out so that you can cock it) Also, the scope is awesome, it even has nitrogen gas port to keep the glass from fogging. Things I would have changed:The trigger guard is plastic. The sights are plastic as well, and can easily be bumped out of place. Also, the scope's screws are very soft metal, and they brake easily. The wood stock is beautiful, but unfortunately it is soft as well, and is easy to dent. What others should know:If you do your part and take good care of this gun, I'm sure It will you a lifetime. Just remember every now and again to: put a drop of silicone chamber oil into the compression chamber, oil the hinges, and (if you really want to preserve the gun, clean it with ballistol).

Things I would have changed:I'd Loctite the stock screws and fit a one piece scope mount that grips the scope better. Removable metal iron sights would be nice, however this is a $100 rifle, so can't expect too much. What others should know:After a few hundrer shots, the rifle settles in nicely. However, you will find that the stock screws and scope mounts keep coming loose - throwing accuracy way off. DO NOT over tighten those stock screws! Loctite them and tighten them snugly - no more, or else you risk cracking the wood.

What others should know:For $100 you wont be disappointed. I had this rifle for about 8 months and never looked back. I wouldn't recommend this to a first time air gunner due to its lethality, recoil, and w.e. If your looking to take small game, target practice, or flat out like destroying things this is the gun for you.

Things I would have changed:the scope ring screws suck.those little phillips screws come loose as you shot it. if you try to tighten down better they tend to strip the philips head so you cant tighten them any more. if you buy this gun, run to the hardware store and purchase a set of hex screws of the same size.only other thing i dont like is that the barrel doesnt always lock back up.pay attention to this as you sight it in. What others should know:i think the problem some folks were haveing with the scope is because of the screws they use.very good deal. awesome deal as a matter of fact. i have both, my stock sights and scope sighted in at 10 yards on a dime sized groups.

The barrel can fit the beeman ported muzzle brake. The fiber optic sights are great for hunting. The scope (although great) is better suited for the Remington 77. Very smooth and refined gun. Things I would have changed:Very picky with pellets. Never use anything under 8gr. Most premiers don't fit the bore. The stock is different color on one side than the other. What others should know:I used this as a custom gun platform because of the price. I carved the stock, put in chain link checkering, gave it a satin finish. the front sight was a little tricky to get of as it screws on, big improvement from last years model. The beemanported muzzle brake (under "accessories") is the best improvement to this gun. Very low amount of spring twang.

Things I would have changed:I would change the fiber optic sights(especially the rear) to metal because the plastic ones that come with it are subject to move even if you rub it up against something. Also, include a one piece scope mount. Everybody knows that with the 2 piece mounts, your scope moves due to the front and back recoil that springers dish out. What others should know:Not a toy. It wreaks havoc on varmints and small game. I have taken out raccoons, squirrels and rabbits with this rifle. Get yourself a one piece scope mount before your scope gets out of whack.

Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but mine had a few deformites. But overall, I can easly live with it. What others should know: This gun is also great at hunting. My first one has lasted my 4000 rounds (and still going), I just bought another one. THE POWER; my old one shoots a 10.5gr premier magnum at 760fps and a 7gr hobby at 980fps. The newer one shoots a 10.5 at 830fps and a 7gr hobby at 1020fps. The scope is great (clear, mil-dot and low profile). Things I would have changed:The shape of the stock (although comfortable) is not as sleek as the remmington summit. The trigger eventually breaks in. What others should know:You won't believe it but both of my storms have no barrel droop. Crosman made these guns with the same powerplant (so read their reviews); phantom 1000,remmington summit, sierra pro, remmington Genisese, and the Quest 1000.

What others should know:At first, I didn't like the gun, I thought it was inaccurate, and had poor quality control, but realizing what you get for $100, it's actually an incredible value. My accuracy problem I think is due to the scope parralax, I was only about 20 feet from the target(due to my limited urban environment) but open sites work great. I tested about 10 differrent pellets, Beeman lead rounds and crosman destroyers were the most accurate. I'm sure better pellets would provide greater accuracy, but I didn't have any. .......Now that it's broken in, it's a pleasure to shoot. The first few shots were as loud as a .22, but now it sounds great. It will still go supersonic with the crosman lead free pellets (but not the gamo raptor! go figure!!)

The power behind the gun is immense, I used a 4ft x 4ft piece of cardboard to scope in my gun (took a few hrs) and had my trash can set behind it. Using 7.9g hollowpoint premier rounds from crosman, I was able to penetrate all the way through roughly nearly a cm of abs plastic. Definitely impressive. Things I would have changed:The scope rings as others have mentioned aren't they greatest. It takes a while to fully adjust everything. When mounting to the rail, be careful not to overtighten or else you might strip the threads. What I did was mount the bottom pieces first, placed the scope on put on the top halves of the scope mounts, n gradually tightened each of the top screws three turns at a time. My first couple shots after breaking it in were about 6 in left n 5 in high at 25 yds. After a lot of scope tuning I finally got it set. What others should know:The trigger can really throw your shots off. If you pull back and not actually fire, it does not fully reset. Aside I tuned my trigger with some molybdenum lube, it says not meant for sears, but to use it on a crappy sear/trigger, it made a ton of difference. Lastly, stay away from crosman destroyer rounds, they are of med-low quality and vary in size from pellet to pellet. Crosman premier hollowpoints seem to work the best.

The Centerpoint scope it comes with is a surprisingly decent scope, however the rings aren't very secure. I believe the main problem is the tapered (tapered to a point) scope stop pin. It may hold for awhile, but it eventually creeps and sometimes gets to the point where it shears off. That process may also egg/mar your receiver a bit. It would be nice if just the stop pin was a straight solid one. You can always purchase an accushot 1-piece mount to go with this gun and use the 2-piece mounts it comes with for a different gun that doesn't require a stop pin. What others should know:For the price this gun is pretty decent. It shoots hard, comes with a decent scope and performs well overall. It can also take a GRT-III trigger if you want to add an inexpensive upgrade to it. A complete tune, or simple debur and lube can turn this gun into an excellent shooter.

I had the same problem with my Storm XT. That pointed stop pin isn't long enough to fully engage the hole for it. I solved the problem by removing the stop pin (it screws into the scope ring), and replacing it with a 3/4" long 9/32 roll pin.
Also, don't forget to put blue thread locker on all the screws, both in the scope rings and the stock.
My scope rings were equipped with hex-head screws, so the problem of Phillips-head screws mentioned elsewhere here has been corrected in production.

Maybe too new to tell. What others should know:keep stock screws tight ... about every 5 to 10 shots check em. The factory suggested "leak lock" BLUE. this involves removing the stock, not a difficult task...Due to the kick of the gun, they loosen very easily and straight shooting is IMPOSSIBLE. address this issue right out of the box..At first, the gun felt very heavy. After about a week or so, not heavy, -solid...

What others should know:As others have already stated this gun is very loud at first. My first couple of rounds broke the sound barrier and sounded just like a .22lr. Crosman really redeemed themselves in my opinion with the Storm XT. It has lots of power and is very accurate. It does have a little recoil in case some of you are looking to get this for a youngster. But I wouldn't recommend for an inexperienced shooter. Just an overall great air rifle at a great price. By the way, mine doesn't really like wadcutters but shoots field points very well.

And it has plenty of stopping power. I was amazed with how much penetration I could get into chunks of ice. All the way through a 4" thick piece at 30 yards. Things I would have changed:Get rid of the cheap plastic sights and better trigger. What others should know:The first 5 shots are LOUD for an airgun, but then it gets silent after those. The scope mounts it comes with are acceptable but a Leapers one piece is a much better replacement. I should be getting a GRT III trigger soon and I'll letcha know even more then.

comes with factory scope stop! Things I would have changed:trigger could be a little crisper. wood craftsman ship is very crude. any one that works with wood will see some unfinished raw wood by the break barrel area. The major parts you see and touch are nice just where the trigger bolts up and barrel breaks the wood cause be cut much cleaner. No big deal and something I will clean up when I put the GRTlll trigger in. What others should know:This is a EXCELLENT value for $100!!!! accuracy is stunning I can group a quarter size shots at 25 yards with Gamo match. Use your knee to break the barrel until it gets easy. I always wanted a wood stock break barrel and for the money I still cant believe this gun!! plan on buying a grtlll trigger and you will have $130 into a gun that will hang with $300+++dollar guns!

Things I would have changed:Take the rear sight off and let it soak in the garbage for eternity. The rings that came with my gun were defective the hole for the scope stop was tapped off center. One 2 minute e-mail to crosman and 2 days later a replacement was in my mailbox. The trigger is absolutley insane. Go ahead and let that soak with the rear sight. Get a GTR trigger. It is a snap to install and it is night and day compared to the stock trigger. What others should know:

The problem is the rear sight which is made out of a very cheap plastic, with a ton of slop in the adustment mechanism. In my opinion, it is practically useless, but since this is scoped combo, it might explain this shortcoming. Stock trigger. What others should know:First off, I did not purchase this rifle through Pyramyd only due to its local availabilty. Other than the stock open sights, I am more than fairly pleased with this rifle. I have been to obtain appx. 1" groupings at appx. 35 yards with crosman premier 7.9 grain hollow points. This is with a BSA 3-12x44mm AO scope and a Beeman one piece mount and after approximatly a 750 shot break in period. I did not try the supplied scope, although it looks to be adequate for general plinking use. The supplied scope mounts do have a scope stop, which look to be compatible with the scope stop hole on the rifle . I did not try them however. Stock trigger has a very long, creepy, and rough travel. I am surpised at the groupings I am able to shoot despite the stock trigger. At twenty yards most shots would fit under a dime. I am going to try a trigger upgrade from charliedatuna. This should turn out to be a very pleasing rifle with the GRT III trigger. Other than the few shortcomings I have mentioned, I am pleased with this rifle and am on my way to becoming a Crosman fan. I feel this is a attractive package for the price and performance level.

Its easy to remove the stalk from the mechanics, just 4 screws. Its got enough weight to it to deaden the recoil. I don't think it hits all that hard. I would have no problem shooting this all day. At first the barrel was difficult to open, I had to pop it over me knee to get the barrel to break open from a locked position. It seems to be loosening up some. It feels pretty comfortable in my hands and the open sights are clear and easy to use. Things I would have changed:I will be changing the scope on it. It has a decent scope but its a non AO and is probably parallaxed for 100 yards. If you are shooting at close range the parallax seems to be a problem. I actually shoot better groups with the open sights at 35 feet than I did with the scope. I'll keep the scope though, its a decent Center Point 3-9 variable and will work just fine on my little rim fire plinker. Also the trigger is no good, way to hard, way to much creep and it will play havoc with your accuracy. I put a GRT III on it and it changed this in to a sweet air rifle. It has plastic open sites but unless there abused I don't see any problem with them. The micrometer clicks for wind age and elevation feel a little week but work just fine over all. What others should know:For $100 this is a pretty good deal even with out the scope. Through in a GRT III trigger for $32 more and you have a nice set up. Ive only used crossman hallow points so far and with those I had no problem with 50 cent size 5 shot groups at 35 feet with open sites and a poor trigger. With a better scope, new trigger and finding the right pellet for this rifle I'm sure the groupings will get much better. Very nice plinker for the price with a new trigger. It feels very solid and if it holds up I will enjoy this rifle as a good all around sporter for many years. I see no problem using it on small game and pests comfortably up to 20-30 yards. With a decent scope, probably 50 yards and beyond. (My experience level: I shoot 4 position match with the local club 4-5 years, rim fire, 50 feet. Some hunting with 30-06 and bird hunting with 12 gauge. I'm 45 years old)

This was after shooting approx. 25 pellets. Scope mounts were defective and a call to Crosman got a great response--new ones on the way. If it is durable, with average care, it's a GOOD buy. Things I would have changed:Make defective scope mount issue is resolved asap. For $100 Don't change anything!! What others should know:The rear and front sights do have plastic bodies and may not adjust as precisely as metal ones. But just like with any good firearm you must find your sighting and BE CAREFUL with it. OR you will spend some time readjusting before shooting. Sure some take more banging around during trips to the field/transit than other, but then again, some people shoot better than others too! If you're trying to get a good enjoyable, kinda attractive hunter/target/pest elimiator, here is one.
