The most popular rifle sold by RWS now comes in a black stock made from a durable, all-weather injection-molded synthetic. This German rifle will keep you shooting accurately and powerfully for decades. While it doesn't have some of the frills that more expensive guns have, it goes head-to-head where it really counts!

Love almost everything about this gun. I have owned own for three years now. Materials are of great quality, barrel locks snugly into place, no wobbles anywhere. Accuracy is great, an average of probablly dime sized groups at 20-25 yards. I have used this rifle to hunt squirrel and it has served me well. RWS gives a lifetime limited warranty with the gun as well (never needed it so far :>) -Scope is great as well, solid design. It has little handles to grab onto while sighting the scope so no tools are required.
Things I Would Have Changedthe fiber sights are not good at all. i couldn't sight them with any pellet i use. I don't mind this though, for i don't use them. I would have liked the 4X32 compact scope to be a fullsize but no big deal
What Others Should KnowBy far the best gun i have shot/ owned so far. i have shot walthers, gamos, a no-name brand gun and i owned a crosman quest 1000x prior to this and it broke but before the gun itself broke the scope that came with it did.
Real good bluing, nice stock, good positive click adjust sights, GREAT trigger. The scope mount and scope are different then in the picture (better) Now comes with front sight hood. Quality rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedScope mount base on receiver for better locking. Some less over all weight .
What Others Should KnowWell built gun and best buy IMO.
Feels like a real hunting rifle and very solid !! Had a Super Streak first and the spring broke in less than 30 days and fewer than 800 shots. Should have bought the Panther in the first place but I was more caught up on fps and velocity ratings. For 60 bucks less and less worries with the limited lifetime warranty I am very happy. No break in period involved with this rifle as it was accurate right out of the box and still shoots dead on...... it is amazing. No screws were loose or have come loose either ( unlike the Chinese made Super Streak )
Things I Would Have ChangedI read that all of the new Panthers have a globe around the front sight post but I got unlucky and got the older model without one. I was going to use the scope anyway but wanted something to protect that fraglie front sight..... NO PROBLEM !! I contacted Umarex and got a metal globe for 7 bucks and had it within three days... Even looks cooler than the plastic one that comes with the newer Panthers.
What Others Should KnowI know a lot of reviews have been done about how it's hard to put scope mounts because of the shallow holes on the scope rail but I have had no peoblems. My Panther came with the new RWS Lockdown mount and has two vertical stop pins and clamps very tight on the scope rail . I have over 500 shots in already and have had zero scope creep. This whole combo costs about 250 bucks and is worth every penny. The panther alone is almost 200 bucks and if you look at the scope and mount that comes with this combo then you are getting almost 200 dollars in parts for the extra 50 you spend. The RWS 300 scope alone retails for $135.00 and the Lockdown mount is another $70.00.... This is the best air rifle I have owned and would reccomend it to anyone !!!
The plastic on the stock was done very well and the scope seems to be working as well. Even though the scope is only a 4x32, its clear, fits well and if you mount it correctly - holds together without coming loose. The overall build quality of the Panther is great and what I would expect from a German made gun. Its a big reason I chose the RWS in the first place - a good, solid, accurate gun for under $300. Great choice.
Things I Would Have ChangedI couldn't get the fibre optic sights to shoot worth a damn. No real issue because I was going to mount the scope on it regardless. Perhaps I didn't spend enough time messing around with them to get them to work properly. Mechanisms and trigger action feels a bit rough, but everyone knows that this will smooth out naturally the more the gun is shot over the next few months.
What Others Should KnowIf you read enough of these reviews you begin to see a few things. First, it's a 'spring' airgun. This means that you need to be aware of what it takes to cock them, hold them accurately and know what it takes to keep the scopes mounted on them. Cocking effort for the Panther is fine for a high-powered air gun, holding the Panther just in front of the trigger guard keeps it accurate and I used the RWS "C" mount rings (which came with the scope) which have given me no issues whatsoever after about 500 rounds. Second thing to be aware of is the build quality of the different brands. This is a German made air gun and shows it. It's at the cheaper end of the RWS line, but it's not nasty. I have a tendency to buy from companies who finish as well as overall functionality.
Bottom line - if you are wondering whether or not this is the gun for you - go ahead and buy the Pather 34 with scope. I don't think you can find anything better in this price range for what this gun can do.
Very accurate with RWS pellets. weight is nice.I bought this as an open box and am very happy with quality.
Things I Would Have ChangedScope mount is overly complicated and allen wrench does not fit well and stripped out right off the bat.
What Others Should KnowGreat rifle! I will get the .22 next
The weight of the gun was surprising, but it makes a steady shot easy. Power and accuracy are impressive. It makes a great varmint hunter.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe allen wrench which came with the scope rounded off before the mounts were tight. The reviews I had read listed this as a short coming which held true. However, it's the only complaint I have with the rifle.
What Others Should KnowThe pressure required to cock the rifle is significant, but I knew that before I bought the rifle. Sighting in will take a while, but I have had no problems since.
fiber optic sights are great, very clear even in shadowy situations. The composite stock is nicely detailed, and should be less prone to weather damage. Trigger pull is just right for me, but can be adjusted. The power of this rifle is awesome, and with hunting pellets I have made clean kills of two groundhogs and one porcupine...at about 30 yards...very impressive knockdown power.
Things I Would Have ChangedWeight...quite heavy. Cocking mechanism is very stiff and hard to handle. Scope still rattles from side to side, even after mount is tightened, and needs constant tightening after shooting. Tends to shoot low, with scope and with iron sights, probably because of droop barrel?
What Others Should KnowDon't overtighten scope mount to barrel...I did and stripped the allen wrench hole in mounting screw. Be ready to spend some time correcting scope and iron sight pictures...I think because you have to kind of overcompensate for droop barrel on this rifle. All said and done, this is a very nice pellet gun and quite accurate after initial settings. I highly recommend it!

This air rifle is, IMO, the best value spring piston breakbarrel rifle at around $200-250. I can consistently shoot groups the size of a dime from 20 yards away. Synthetic stock is well-made, with excellent attention to detail. Cocking effort is easy and break barrel closure is fluid and tight. Fiber optics are bright and clear, and windage and elevation knobs give a precise and tactile click to each rotation. Two stage adjustable trigger was perfect out of the box.
Things I Would Have ChangedSafety cap should be made of steel, as well as the safety lever. The only other gripes in terms of quality that I found worth mentioning were some inconspicious mold lines down the center of the stock.
What Others Should KnowHope for a globe for your front sight, and use a fairly wide flathead screwdriver to adjust the knobs to prevent creating indentations down the slots.
