    Things I liked:

Nicely finished wood, well balanced adequate power, but defintely not on par with my Diana 52 .22, does not seems to produce 23 FPE if compared to the RWS 52 who makes 21 FPE with 14 grain pellets, good all around gun

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger, to much creep and pull, safety shoulde be automatic.

    What others should know:

Quite lightweight with the included scope, enough power to kill mongoose, and rats with one shot

Beautiful stock design! Metal work and finishing is outstanding for a product of this price. Now those scope reciever mounts are what all air rifles should have! Somebody had their brains in gear when those were designed.

    Things I would have changed:

That recoil pad is over kill! Just a butt plate would cover the wood.

    What others should know:

This is one quiet shooter, what recoil?? That Nitro Piston is a leap forward in air gun design! Try one ,you all will love it!! Trigger is OK but that can change.

    Things I liked:

Where to begin with this rifle. I love the scope. Its very quiet, and it hits like a ton of bricks. at 20 yards it was going through an inch of plywood with crosman domed. Ive only had it for about 3 weeks and im over a thousand pellets through it. I got 4 jack rabbits and 2 ground squirrels the first time i took it out hunting. Ground squirrels are tough little animals (way tougher than gray squirrels in my opinion) to get with a pellet gun. They are tough to kill even with a .22 rimfire. i put both of mine down with 1 shot each and they dropped on the spot. The jacks were just hard to get close enough to. the farthest one was about 35-40 yards and i hit him right behind the shoulder. after like 3 seconds he got the wobbles and went down. i cant say enough about the power.

    Things I would have changed:

i dont like the sling so much. it is too long and i had to tie it to the front sling holder. te recoil is a little more than my big cat but doesnt bother me. the trigger is a little hard to pull but better than the gamo.

    What others should know:

i read a review that said it liked to be held tight for better groups. man was that person right. i had terrible groups at like 20 yards i had like a 2 inch group. i read that review and i am getting "cloverleaves" at 35 yards. got it hitting a water bottle at 65 yards every shot when i hold it on the third mildot down. i love this gun and if you are looking for something to take out hunting i would highly recommend it. i cant wait until quail, dove, and tree squirrel season to start here in california. this thing is going to tear um appart. shoot em if you got em!

    Things I liked:

very quiet, smooth, accurate, comfortable and really nice looking gun.

    Things I would have changed:

more crisp trigger, but i can deal with it. gun is very hold sensative too.

    What others should know:

this gun is very quiet and accurate. i can shoot bottle caps and spent 30-06 casing from 30 yards. crosman ultra magsare ok in this gun but some are a little small in the chamber. i was very surprised with the power of this gun, i have another air gun of the same caliber and supposively more fps but this one is much more powerful. i sighted it in at 15 yards but at 30 yards it is shooting high, i guess the pellet is still rising. at 15 yards ive got 1/4 groups, havnt tried grouping at 30 yards. took about 500 rounds to get completely broken in and very quiet. want to try it at farther ranges but havnt tried it yet. can someone please tell me how accurate it is past 50 yards or so.

    Things I liked:

Very well done metal work, bluing, and over all finish. The sope mounts that appear to be milled into the reciever are there for ever,no more moving scope mounts!! The pull is alittle long for my short arms, but I'll take care of that.My stock looks like walnut!

    Things I would have changed:

I'll likely up grade the trigger unless it improves with use!

    What others should know:

Trying best ,22 cal pellets for accurcy and pest control! This is one SLEEPER for the money!Great wood detals, metal work[all screws had Loctite} Ouiet when fired, easy to cock!, Nice balance. The 3-9 scope is bright and sharp! I'll check back in after I put 2or 3000 pellets down range!!

    Things I liked:

Good power (mine is .22 cal); blasts thru 5/8" plywood at 60 feet. Wood stock is nicely finished and so smooth at first I thought it was a synthetic stock. Scope is much better than I expected at this price... no upgrade needed here. Weight and cocking effort are medium and perfectly reasonably for an air rifle of this type. A free sling is included with the rifle; a nice touch. Noise level is reasonably low, at least in .22 caliber (doesn't "crack" like a fast .177).

    Things I would have changed:

I changed the trigger to a Charlie da Tuna GRT III. Much smoother trigger pull and my groups are much more consistent. The metal levers forming the gun's cocking mechanism could use a little refinement... some roughness can be felt through the middle of the cocking stroke, but it is getting better as it breaks in (a minor quibble and not unexpected at this price range.

    What others should know:

This is a similar gun to a Gamo Whisper .22 w/ nitro piston, but with the hardwood stock and the lower price it is hard to beat. Even with the $32 GRT III trigger mod, it is still lower in price than a Whisper Nitro. I was a little worried buying this gun with NO reviews yet posted, but it has more than met my expectations and my friends all love it too.

    Things I liked:

I like Benjamin rifles and this one is no exception. The stock is really nice and the entire rifle seems well made. I like the scope too. I think Crosman has put together a great package. I think folks that purchase this rifle will be pleased.

    Things I would have changed:

I really don't like the trigger. I'm relatively new to springers. I've had a couple and didn't find them to my liking. I though the gas piston might be different so I bought this rifle. The trigger on all of the springers I've owned have been basically the same and they are much different than multi-pump or PCP rifles that I own. I'm wondering why the triggers on the springer rifles must be so different.

    What others should know:

After reading some articles by Jim Chapman and B.B. Pelletier, and with a little practice, I was able to get groups to about an inch at 25 yards. I know the rifle is capable of better groups so I will be doing much more practicing. My rifle likes Crosman Premier domed pellets the best of the pellets that I have tried. The rifle is very sensitive to hold pressures. I do not put my thumb in the thumb-hole as this causes inaccuracies for me. I barely rest my cheek on the cheek rest. The only pressure is on the trigger as I squeeze. The trigger is a long squeeze and requires patience.

    Things I liked:

    The gas spring.

    Things I would have changed:

The whole set up of the piston. It's Chinese garbage. Make it in America like it shoudl've been made with better quality control. The way it was put together is just garbage.

    What others should know:

Do not buy it, it is not even worth messing with until Benjamin works out the kinks. Power is worthless, gun is worthless.

Light weight, quiet, good power and easy to cock

    Things I would have changed:

    The trigger

    What others should know:

Some people gave this gun a poor overall rating because of the lousy trigger. I anticipated this and ordered a GRT III trigger for $32. It drops right in and makes the air gun a joy to shoot. !/2 inch groupings at 30 yards are not a problem My Trail NP likes Beeman FTS pellets and shoots them at 780 FPS over the chrony which is around 20 FPE at the muzzle. That is very good velocity for a gun that weighs less than 8 lbs. with the scope. Although the gun is assembled in China, it's build quality is quite nice.

    Things I liked:

I bought this rifle feb 2010 I have been shooting almost everyday, inside & out. I like the hardwood because I can change the look (camo foam} or keep it classic. it has a tight fit & is well built. It is really quiet I haven't had any complaints yet. it's not that bad to break the barrel. The mounting rings are built tough & It came with a benjamin sling {good quality). It also has an adjustable trigger not mentioned. The thumb hole & cheek rest are stylish. The vent. butt stock is alright there's not much recoil sooooo. trigger pull is ez maybe 4-5lbs. The scope is very good for this gun, 3 zoom settings & no caps on the windage ez to adjus. The range from 30ft to 300yds. best accuracy about 15-20yd groups about quarter. I shot about 1000rds. tears through soup cans both sides at 50yds. hit bottles at 70yds, missed couple times can hear the pellet about 200-300yds back. shoots through 1/2in ply wood not 3/4. Tried 4 diff. pellets polymag 40y 4in group, great at 15y, jumbo express, jumbo heavy hard hitting & crossman good 4 paper targets. poly goes to p.521 phone book. still looking 4 a better pellet. cleaning pellets r $$$, I use a rod & patch. Don 't dry fire your gun(shoot unloaded). The safety is ez to set, trigger guard. I mounted 2 2in rails on each side for laser & light. also a univer. bipod weighs 9-10pds tact. look SWEET

    Things I would have changed:

flip lens covers on the scope, why would you change anything if you know what your looking for!! If I could change something dime size groups at 50yds.

    What others should know:

have a back STOP shoot with care. be safe & practice a lot. good for small game 25yds This is TAZ RUNNIN WILD saying thanks to the crew & service at pyramyd

It is very comfortable, light and just feels right. Well finished. Excellent scope. Very good value for the money. Surprising quality from China.

    Things I would have changed:

Having past problems keeping a scope calibrated on air guns, I would be more comfortable if iron sights were included. I do not like fiber but they would be better than none at all.

the rifle is Quiet but not the first shot very nice scope to my standards. very nice wood work on stock to my suprise it came with a sling so dont buy one. the smoothness of cocking effort is unmatched .the thomb hole grip is very nice also.

    Things I would have changed:

not a darn thing. but it would be nice if it was made in usa not china.

    What others should know:

great gun a straight shooter right out of the box . we were test shooting and you know how every body says u have to run about a hundred shots threw them to break them in well we were just shooting and not playing with the sights much and we were stacking pellets on top of each other . it dose have more of a kick than expected .

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing

    What others should know:

I haven't owned an air rifle for over 20 years. A lot has changed! This is an awesome rifle! The hardwood stock looks great, the power is very impressive. I was thinking about the 1500fps model, but the power this rifle delivers is more than enough, in my opinion. I just started shooting the Predator Polymags which seem to work very well with this rifle. Overall I am very impressed with the quality and performance of this rifle and I highly recommend it.

    Things I liked:

A good-looking gun with a stock that really responds to a True Oil treatment. Plenty of power in a light weight package for a big springer. My RWS 48/52 outweighs it by 4.5 pounds. So the NP Trail is the gun for hauling around in the field.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is creepy and has a very long pull. You can master it with practice, but.... Bench accuracy, properly supported, is not so good. Lots of recoil and vibration. A choked barrel would improve that.

    What others should know:

I got the best accuracy with RWS super domes and Beeman Silver Bears. Crossman Premier Domes gave shotgun patterns. The best accuracy after break-in is 3/4" at 10 meters so far with both Beeman and RWS

  • Rating 3.03.0 3.0

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

The Trail NP is a lightweight, reasonably powerful, good looking gun. The thumbhole stock points naturally for my size, having a long 14 inch pull. It has sharp, cut checkering, unusual on a gun this cheap. The combination of light weight and power were the main selling point for me.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger needs serious work and recoil is heavier than the power and light weight of this rifle justify. The trigger is deplorable and inexcusable. It has at lease 5/8" of creepy, grainy travel after taking up the first stage. Good triggers are not hard to make, but this one is like one on my 12 year old Chinese knockoff made in a Red Army factory for training troops. Atrocious Firing behavior is rough even after break-in and with a full-sized scope mounted. It has a heavy recoil compared to Diana 34 and Diana 48/52. The air piston does not help much. This is partly one of the costs of light weight but also probably due to the failure of the manufacturer to choke the barrel. Choking would smooth out the recoil and increase velocity.

    What others should know:

And speaking of velocity, the claimed 950 fps is for 9.9 grain Gamo Raptor pellets which are useless for accuracy or expansion. Reporting the velocity from over-light pellets is nothing short of commercial dishonesty. With real lead pellets, the velocity goes down, although it is not too shabby. Beeman Silver Bears (12.7 gr) clock around 780 with a standard deviation of over 12 fps, quick drop-off of velocity and questionable accuracy. This pellet is too light for the Trail NP. Crossman Premier Super Domes (14.5 gr.) get 710 fps with an SD of 9. Accurcy is not bad and it has a good ballistic curve. The best pellet I have tested is the RWS Super Dome (14.3 gr.) which also clocks 710 but has a really good SD of 4 fps and accuracy at both short and long range. (All velocity tested with a Chrony Alpha, 5 feet from the muzzle.) You CAN get decent accuracy from the Trail NP, but it requires really good form, especially absolutely consistent holds to tame the heavy recoil. The long, rough trigger pull requires patience to master. Don't draw conclusions until you have put 200 rounds or more through it. It gets better, but it will never match a Diana 48/52 or 34. On the other hand, it weighs barely 8 pounds w/scope and leather cobra sling against 11#+ for the Diana 48/52 with scope and leather sling. And a little Birchwood Casey True Oil makes the stock look really good.

    Things I liked:

Hard hitting, quiet & smooth with a little kick. Not too hard to cock, leans a little to the heavy side at about 7 pounds. Nice hardwood stock .

    Things I would have changed:

I like some kind of open sights, but nice scope ... puts the lead where you want it.

    What others should know:

Likes heavy pellots, I used the H&N Baracuda Match .22 cal, 21.14 gr round nose. I also used this pellot in my Crossman 2260 & got good results.

    Things I liked:

Holy cow this gun is great I just received this very fine craftsmanship piece of art. you get more than what your expecting. the description on the net don't tell you, you get a free 20$ sling, sling mounts feel good, also a 2stage trigger adjustment. also on the box it says best accuracy or groups about 33ft and under. I shot about 50 rounds hitting targets about 65yds. you can hit a 5 gallon bucket at around 80yds. I didn't zero in on the scope but easily hit it no problem, punch a hole through both sides. it is only plastic but 80yds. I shot at 3/4in ply. wood at 5yds tip of the pellet came through. Scope is very good for this gun 3-9x40 read a can print at 75yds and hit it. waiting for my first pest, but I have a pit bull likes to try to get them first. wood stock is a great finish they really took some time with this Benjamin. I wanted the laminate finish but I couldn't wait. I put on a universal bi-pod works well with it, gives it a little more weight, looks cool works great. I also mounted a small strip dovetail (2in) good for my laser or light. couple more things the Nitro is so easy to cock not much recoil also quiet . I have alot more shooting to go, so for that note one more thing the shipping was amazing fast really thanks to all the service and support from the crew at Pyramyd Air great job

    Things I would have changed:

There is not whole lot to change, maybe put flip lens covers on the scope, shouldn't change anything if you know what you want and looking for.

    What others should know:

It's 43in' long not for the young, BENJAMIN is the way to go. 22cal. packs a punch. TAZ RUNNING WILD on small game and pest control. be safe, shoot with care
