    Things I liked:

I usually buy all my guns from Pyramydair becuase their service is great but another site had the gun in stock and I as anxious to try it . The gun looks great, and is nicely balanced. The scope is clear and bright (I have one that came with a Crosman NPSS I bought a few months back and it is NOT clear). The sling system is awesome! The Sling itself was pretty nice too.

    Things I would have changed:

The Trigger. It is the WORST trigger I have ever seen. It is "mushy". It is VERY long in pull and it is not crisp at all. There is no way to know when the gun is going to go off. After five shots you will feel like you ran a marathon becuase you've held your breath for so long waiting for the trigger to break. It is rough too , as you pull it....it gets lighter, then heavy, then light, then heavy. This really impedes accuracy as far as I can see. Not to mention it doesn't make it fun to shoot.....It's a workout holding your breath that long. You end up yanking the trigger just trying to get it to go. There is an adjustment screw but it doesn't change it enough to make any difference at all.

    What others should know:

I REALLY wanted to rate this gun much higher, I love the look of it , the wood stock, the sling system and overall balance of the rifle, but the trigger is SO AWFUL I cannot. The other thing is if you have small hands the length from the grip to the trigger is quite long. I have big hands and it is a stretch for me to get to it. It is not a negative point for me but I could see if you had small hands it would be a HUGE issue. I would have to say that I would not recommend this gun just based on the trigger unit. Save your money and get the Remington NPSS, it is basically the same gun with a better trigger unit and a synthetic stock (I do like the stock on the Trail NP better).

    Things I liked:

The Trail NP seems to be a well made, lightweight rifle. a joy to carry in the field. It has adequate (not spectacular) velocity for hunting. It certainly looks neat and squared away with sharp, cut checkering (rare on a rifle this cheap) and nice touches such as sling hardware already installed and a so-so, but serviceable synthetic sling that I replaced with a leather cobra sling. Its best feature is light weight; it weighs only 7 lbs 14 ounces with scope and leather sling.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is the worst I have ever encountered - worst than early Chinese POS air guns. The last stage requires about 0.375 inches of scrapey creep ending in an inconsistent let-off. If I didn't have 30 years of experience with springers, I wouldn't be able to hit the side of the barn with this gun. From inside the barn.

    What others should know:

Accuracy is nothing to brag about. With extreme care, I can keep shots in1/2 inch at 10 yards but any inconsistency results in wild fliers. I'm used to being careful with the accuracy robbing recoil of springers. My RWS 34, Diana 48/52 and Feinwerkbau 124 will all group inside 1/4 inch at 30 yards. Velocity claimed is with 9.1 grain Raptor pellets, not lead. The Trail clocks 734 with the 1.43 grain domed Premier. My Diana 48/52 gets 790 with the same pellet. That isn't a crime, just commercial dishonesty. Despite claims that the gas-sprung piston is smoother shooting, it compares poorly with any of my several other springers, including 3rd world POSs. This puppy kicks. Be prepared. The hold for each shot must be absolutely consistent. Part of that is a trade-off for the light weight. Part is failure to choke the barrel adequately.
