Gamo Whisper G2 Air Rifle

Light and accurate. Sighted in in less than 20 mins. Fired at frozen oranges with hollow point and pointed. Shredded the orange. Can't wait for my first hunt. I know others complain about scope, I have none. Maybe I got the one in a million. Shooting dime size patterns at 25 and 35 yards. Only time it was loud was after first cleaning, my fault. Didn't patch enough. Sounded like a rim fire. Otherwise it's quiet. Shot most of the afternoon, not one complaint. Might have seen the accurany and changed their mind. ;)

Make a adapter for 10 shot rotary mag.

If you have critters that need to be eliminated, this is the gun you want. Have a Crossman NP, this is my favorite. It's lighter, a shade quieter, less kick. Having thumb hole will help ones with smaller hands get a good feel for it. Balance is really good. Think I may order 2 for my nephews.

Light, very little recoil, quiet with right ammo. Wish I would have purchased long ago but by holding out I got mine on sale. It has a good balanced feel. Much lighter and easier to pull to shoulder than my Crossman nitro furry. Having the thumb hole is great. Being of small stature, this gun feels like it was made for me. If you are sitting on the fence as whether to purchase, DO IT! Will have to wait till wind and rain to quit before I venture past the porch to get it zeroed in.

This would make a great gun to start a kid with. It's light and quiet. For those with small hands, having the thumb hole gives a better feel. I have great nephews, and I can see they will be getting this same gun from me when the get old enough.

Ease of Pyramyd Air's purchasing process. Reasonably quick shipping and packing of the G2. The rifle itself is just as described: easier to cock than 32, light, minimal recoil, - exactly as described.

Scope was immediately replaced. Pyramyd had a utube that easily showed how to install.

Great rifle for adult, even a beginner. Plenty of power yet easy to handle & shoot.

The build of the rifle was exceptional. It's pretty lightweight, and feels good in your hands. The cocking effort was relatively light as well. I think this gun is ideal for a long day out in the woods if your'e planning on shooting and walking a lot. I haven't shot a 4 on PyramydAir's loudness scale, but I have shot a 2. I would agree that this rifle is a 3, but I would say it is very close to being a 2. Especially after the break in period.

This is rough, so do with it as you will. But I can't seem to get a good grouping with this gun yet. I've tried a couple pellets, and at 30 yards it's pretty difficult. I've put close to 300 pellets through her. I can say I think it's getting better though. I think it might be the scope I'm using. It's not the one it came with, and I've had it for a while. I'm not very experienced with air rifles yet so it might just be me.

Ease of use. This gun is easy to break over, and the trigger is good enough to do the job. Consistently accurate with multiple types of ammo including PBA Platinum (which, for such a light round, is very surprising). Fairly quiet with lead, but much louder with lead free.

The scope is pretty subpar. But there are plenty of relatively inexpensive scopes on this website that will be a fun upgrade. The suppressor on the end could be scaled down a bit, just visually looks like overkill.

Great pellet rifle for the price. I've put well over 1000 rounds through it without a hitch. It's fun, consistent, and powerful. Enjoy this one if you get it.

I bought this from Pyramyd after looking at one in the Gamo booth at the Indianapolis NRA show and just received it this past weekend. I was looking for something I could shoot cheaper than my tactical 10/22, and this fits the bill perfectly. The stock and grip are very comfortable and the whole gun is well made with great attention to detail. I have shot Gamo Red Flame, Gamo Match, and Gamo PBA Raptor through it so far. Once I had the rifle sighted in, it shot a ragged hole right in the red circle from 10 yards with the Red Flame, a 2 inch group from 25 yards, and even at 50 yards was consistently 4 inches low in a tight group. Very fun air rifle. The PBA is fun to shoot, with the crack of passing the sound barrier, and I could see only a little difference in repeatability.

The Gamo scope is the only disappointment. The scope is functional for up to 50 yards and allows you to shoot pretty consistently. It just doesn't really ever seem to be in focus, and the eye relief takes effort every time. I think my first accessory is going to be a decent scope.

It's a blast to shoot and the tactical look, long barrel with futuristic sound damper, and light pipe sights gather lots of comments at the local range. Highly recommended for anyone who likes to target shoot, but doesn't want to burn hard to find, expensive 22 ammo. I'm hooked and can't wait to see how it does when completely broke in.

Feels lighter than 8lbs. Took 15 shots to center scope at 11 yards,but the scope was a Centerpoint 3-9 X 40 AO that I took off a Crosman NPS. Last three shots were in the small hole. Not a bad rifle at all.

The SAT trigger is the only negative I found on the gun. It's not as bad as the trigger on my Crosman Vantage NPS but the second stage has creep and is long. First stage is very light. Trigger is adjustable for 2nd stage but I haven't messed around with it yet. Sell it without a scope or upgrade the scope to AO.

After zeroing the scope I shot 15 pellets over a chrony. The pellets were 14.3 grain Crosman CP domes. High was 729fps, Low was 700 fps, Avg was 711.2fps. Spread was 29fps, SD was 10.02. Energy was 16.06 FPE. Keep in mind the gun is not fully broken in yet. Gun shots pretty smooth, if I can adjust the trigger the way I like then the rifle will be perfect. Once the rifle is broken in I will retest using chrony.
