From its Lothar Walther barrel (1:16 twist) to its removable tank, the Talon is the standard for state-of-the-art manufacturing of air rifles. Made of space-age polymers and aircraft-grade aluminum, the AirForce Talon is lightweight and equipped with a durable finish.
The removable tank does double-duty as the butt of the gun, contributing to its light weight and convenience.
Not sure which caliber to get? Get both! Extra barrels are available, and change-outs are quick and easy and don't require any special tools.
The benefits of shooting a Talon on CO2:
Over 1,000 shots per CO2 tank
Ideal for shooting indoors

No handpump or scuba tank required
Quieter operation
If you want to also shoot your Talon on air, you'll need to order an AirForce air tank and a way to fill the tank (scuba tank, handpump or electric pump). All items are listed in the ACCESSORIES links.

4 of 4 AirForce Talon CO2, Incl adapter, 12-oz. CO2 tank Reviews
I love the extreme power, no recoil and complete adaptability to any shooting need I have. Between this and my condor I don't have a need for any other guns
Things I Would Have ChangedAbsolutely nothing. It's the ideal gun that can be any gun you want from bullpup to carbine of any caliber or power.
What Others Should KnowIf you can only have one gun airforce guns should be where you buy one since they are the only adaptable package out there of their kind and you just can't beat them for accuracy.
This Gun is well engineered and a good value for the money. Adaptable and adjustable for caliber and power level. Simplicity of taking down and changing out barrels and parts. On CO2 the gun shoots solidly in the upper 600's, it really a good power level and there is a little adjustment in the power wheel.
Things I Would Have ChangedUse anodized aluminum for the barrel bushings. The polymer is totally functional but it is polymer non the less. I plan to extend the shroud/frame to lower the noise, the gun even on co2 is a bit loud. front stock and grip functional, but could be better. The safety takes a bit getting use too, I would have used something a little more conventional. I plan to do a lot of modifications, but out of the box the gun is great to start with, so you'll get a lot out of it from the start.
What Others Should KnowI've been interested in these gun since they were first introduced in 1999, I'm glad I finally bought one, If your looking for a gun that is adaptable to different shooting situations and is basically a platform that can be customized in many taste and directions, this is it. I started out with the CO2 set up, and I'm impressed with the power just with the CO2, I plan to get a short HPA tank with a regulator set between 1400-2000 psi; purpose to get a good number of shots and a higher power than CO2.
If you want power and accuracy with a military type look then look no further, this is the air rifle you want, this thing is all that and well made too.I like the option of being able to use co2 or air on it also.I have several paintball tanks so I opted to go with the Talon co2 package in .22.Going with this package was also less money and I can purchase the Airforce air tank later.I have used co2 but I am presently using a 1000 psi paintball air tank. With .22 caliber premiers I am getting an avg. of about 725 fps. With lighter ammo over 750 fps.I can put a hole thru both sides of a spray paint can from 50 ft.Co2 tanks are around 800 or 850 psi and shoot in the mid 600s.I scoped mine with a Leapers 4-16 scope and it works great. buy this gun.I did a lot of research before purchasing a Talon and I am sure I made the right choice.
Things I Would Have ChangedThere is not anything I would change on my Talon that I can think of.It has worked flawlessly since day 1.Some have complained about the trigger or grip being cheaply made but I find no fault in them, they look and work fine on mine.
What Others Should KnowI went with the std Talon instead of the SS because it has the 18 inch barrel instead of the 12 on the SS.This gives you more fps.The SS is quieter because of the barrel shroud but you can purchase after market shrouds or build 1 yourself like I did.It is less expensive this way and you get more power. Also if you scope yours get a high mount that will get your scope up higher because of the air tank. There are all kinds of upgrades and accessories made for Airforce airguns which is another good reason to buy one and they are made in the USA.Also I bought mine here at Pyramyd Air as well as other items and they have always been great to me.

Lite weight, very accurate with many different types of ammo, well made, rugged
Things I Would Have Changedfull length barrel shroud for noise reduction, less stiff safety lever, angled tank connection so lower rings could be used with the 20 oz. co2 tanks
What Others Should Knowmost has already been mentioned in previous reviews, but in addition to the loud report, there is more air blast out of the barrel than my .22 firearm has , demands extra safety measures.
