Details
Very quiet and completely recoilless, it's the perfect pistol for practice at home. One stroke of the cocking lever shoots a .177 pellet more than 400 fps. Red-dot sight included, or use with provided open sights.

What others should know:This is a great gun for the price. I do have to adjust the red dot sight fairly regularly but once dialed in can hit a dime sized target from 25 feet 20+ times in a row. The seals did fail soon after purchase, but it may have been due to my over oiling them. Once replaced with $3.00 worth of O-rings from the hardware store and 30 minutes of tear down cleaning and reassembly its perfect again.

Had leaking in under 10 shots and the seal was damaged when inspected. Spent too much looking for a replacement with no luck on the right size. Tried dash 020 and 117 viton and were too small and big respectively. Hard to load the pellet and I have small fingers. Adjustable site moves all over the place. Kinda loud snap for apartment shooting. What others should know:Don't buy this unless you anticipate to troubleshoot a leaky seal problem. With a caliper and many online orders for viton seals I haven't got the right size yet. Not worth the cash when u can get a CO2 pistol or cheap springer ready to go out of the box. Very disappointed.

What others should know:About the O-ring, try to find one that is made of viton and not buna-n. The vitons hold up better. Permatex makes an oring grease made specifically for, well, orings! Mine original oring failed after 400 or so shots, new one is still going at 500 ish rounds.

Things I liked:I really like how every shot is exactly the same, and how I never have to change CO2 containers (they get expensive). Excellent accuracy, even at 20 yards. I can hit a one inch bull's eye at 15 yards easy. And, it feels like a real gun, with the weight, size, balance, and looks. It also has a lot of bang for your buck. Things

Things I would have changed:It is hard a first to load pellets into the gun.. With a little practice is will become easier. I use round balls most of the time in this gun and they shot great. What others should know:I did have the problem of leaking air after cocking.
This happened about 15 times, it was always corrected by re_cocking the gun again. Sometime it would take 3 or 4 re_cockings to clear the problem.
I now have about 500 shot thru the gun and have not had a problem with the gun leading air again in the last 400 shots.

I would have gave it a 5 on rating and value if I did not have problems. What others should know:This gun is fantastic, its super accurate. The included red dot sight is pretty good as well, after tighting adjustment screws. I'm getting 380 FPS with Crosman premier super match, with one hole groups at 5 and 10 meters. It's a joy to shoot. I did have a few problem issues around the 100 shot point, but I was able to fix it myself. (see Marksman 2004 blog) now I have put about another 300 shots through it with no problems.

Things I would have changed:It was accurate enough however it shot very erratically. The first few shots had nice of power then power would drop off with successive rounds. No pattern really. Disapointing performance all-in-all. Also, there are incedibly sharp edges on top of the gun making cocking uncomfortable.
Why bother with a poorly made knock-off of the HW40 and the P3. Save your nickles and buy a quality piece from Pyramyd. What others should know:I own a P3 and have owned a HW40 in .22. I would suggest anyone should pass on this wet-dog. Sorry Beeman, I do own several of your airguns that I like very much. This is dog.

What others should know:I had the leaking air problems within the first fifty shots, but I just recocked the gun and pulled the trigger again. This would clear the leading problem within a couple of tries.
I have not had the problem over the last 500 shots.
Try the round balls. They ar accurate and easy to load.

What others should know:I am re-reviewing this because of bad experience. The first review was for the pistol only, NOT Pyramyd, as I bought it from another vendor. I bought two of these from said vendor, who shall remain anonymous, and BOTH started leaking quite badly after around the 100-150 shot mark IMMEDIATELY after having been cocked. This is a real pity, as I like the looks, ergonomics, trigger, and accuracy, but I give up. Pyramyd Air, if you are reading this, you have my permission to remove my first review to save space and reduce confusion. This is not on you, Pyramyd Air, but SHAME on Marksman/Beeman for such shoddy work!

I also really like the heft and ergonomics of the stocks. Things I would have changed:Add detents to the iron sight screws, and do the same to the red dot adjustments, which would also prevent screw backout in both. What others should know:This one is a real bargain.
It turns out that Beeman's own P3 is basically the same with some small improvements, German manufacture, and...three times the price tag.

This "Beeman" is exactly the same as the knock-off Marksman, which itself is a (very) poor copy of the the HW40PCA.
Go with the Weihrauch, it is the best gun in this class.

Comfortable Things I would have changed:I would make this air gun more durable, read my comments below. What others should know:I have somthing to say about the value of this gun. I was completely amazed at the accuracy let me say that first. I own 12 air guns and I and pretty pleased with most of them. This pistol has REALLY AMAZING ACCURACY. My first impression was "I cant belive this was $50.00!!!"
It has a nice trigger, it is super comfortable an easy to aquire a target. YES it is very difficult to load, my father cant even do it because his fingers arnt nimble enough. (and hes a avid "firearm" shooter) I dont mid that though.. REALLY it is that fun, beacuse of its accuracy.
Here is MY two problems. I bought two of these guns one for my father and one for me both from pyramid air. Let me say this.. The price is comparable to others but that red dot sight is complete JUNK!! both sights (from each gun purchased, on different orders) proved completely worthless. Let me attempt to explain... The windage "nobs" on both sights have absolutely NO RESISTANCE!!! I can quite LITERALLY blow air from my lips and turn the windage nobs!!!!!! My father was amazed at the "poorness" of these sights. I love Pyramyd Air and will comtinue to buy from them BUT these things are such a gimick its really unbelievable. And the fact that both of them are like that leads me to belive it is why they are offered for free???
READ THIS MOST IMPORTANTLY:
The gun I bought gets shot much more often that the one I bought for my father, and after only 1 tin of Gamo pellets (or two days of firing it) MY GUN DOES NOT HOLD A CHARGE OF AIR ANY MORE!!! I was SO dissapointed, Until then that airgun was the BEST Purchase ever! It seemed so well made for the price I paid? I did not even bother telling Pyramyd Air beacuse I didnt want to pay to ship it back, Also they were so nice about leting me return a "Horrible" made in China Beeman that I was afraid of becoming a nusance (in retrospect I wish I had, my dad keeps sayn "Told you so")
I still have the gun to show my friends how disapointing the purchase was, and most people try to pump it up but it barley hase enough power to put a pellet all the way through the barrel!!! HOWEVER every now and again it seems to charge up enought to shoot a peelet about 2-3 hundred feet per second but only like every 10-15 shots!!! : (
I am SO dissapointed.

Things I liked:Very easy to shoot and very accurate for an inexpensive gun. Things I would have changed:Loading is hard. What others should know:This gun shoots 9 out of 10 times to the point of aim. The other 10% of the time the pellet appears to be a flyer.

Some say its hard to load but I got the hang of it very quickly. The red dot is rather cheap, the elevation adjustment knob is loose and easy to accidentally turn when holding/cocking the gun. The red dot in no way matches the quality of the gun itself, but just remove the sight or buy the one without it. What others should know:Definitely get of one of these if you are thinking about it.
