Benefits of the Nitro Piston 2 over a metal mainspring:
  • Smoother cocking
  • Smoother shooting
  • No spring torque
  • No spring fatigue, even if left cocked for hours
  • Functions perfectly in cold weather
  • Lasts longer than a metal spring

All gas springs (gas pistons, gas rams) are NOT created equal!

The Nitro Piston 2 has it all over the original Nitro Piston and almost every other gas spring on the market. Most gas springs have a reputation of being hard to cock, but the NP2 put an end to that. According to airgun writer Tom Gaylord, it's the easiest-cocking gas piston he's ever shot.

But Crosman didn't stop the improvements there. They also improved the trigger so it feels like it's been tuned! Imagine that: A factory trigger that breaks crisp and clean. It has a significantly lighter trigger-pull, not one of those so-called "lawyer" triggers that requires Herculean strength to shoot.

As long as they were making improvements, Crosman decided to make a better and more effective integral sound suppression system that really is quiet. You'll notice an immediate difference between the report from your Nitro Piston 2 air rifle and the older Nitro Piston guns or other brands.

So, let's add up what you'll get in this great package: Easy cocking, fantastic trigger and less noise. And, it's assembled in Crosman's plant in Bloomfield, New York. While that's almost everything you could ever want, there's one more thing -- and it's really important: Accuracy. When Tom Gaylord tested a Nitro Piston 2 at an industry show, he commented that he hit everything he aimed at. Isn't that what you want to do? We thought so!

The Benjamin Trail NP2 with a Realtree Xtra camo stock isn't a dream -- it's a dream come true. It's here for you to enjoy, to hit everything you're aiming at, and not strain with each cock and each pull of the trigger. They've put the fun back in airgunning!

If you purchase the .22-caliber rifle, your box may state the wrong velocity with lead pellets.

Things I liked:I like the feel of the gun, the camouflage and the weight.
Things I would have changed:The stock is very weak and started to rub on the barrel close to the breach and started causing it to pull to the left. The speed of the gun should be a better correlation to actual usable pellets if it's called a hunting rifle you need to be able to use hunting pellets and understand speed in regards to power. The machining on the guide pins was very rough and you can even feel it as you charge the nitro piston this has to calls premature wear
What others should know:It's a good Little Rifle if everything was as it was stated if the stock was good and the machine work was good I wouldn't have a problem keeping it but I'm going to send this one back!

Things I liked:The weight, very light. Comfortable. The trigger. Def like the trigger compared to most of my guns in that price range. Great power, easy cocking. Nice and quiet, def a backyard shooter and neighbor friendly
Things I would have changed:Plastic piece on shroud. And maybe just a little denser stock.
What others should know:Great gun for overall cost, great hunting rifle. Good trigger. Normally I don't buy crosman products after I've purchased one of the biggest pieces of garbage from them (pistol) but I heard this was built in my home state of New York at the crosman facility. That was the turning point for me. The gun is great for the price range. The synthetic stock isn't as nice as my stoeger (must use a different type of plastic) but overall this is the type of gun you can just toss in the back of the car and not worry.
