Benefits of the Nitro Piston 2 over a metal mainspring:
    • Smoother cocking
    • Smoother shooting
    • No spring torque
    • No spring fatigue, even if left cocked for hours
    • Functions perfectly in cold weather
    • Lasts longer than a metal spring

All gas springs (gas pistons, gas rams) are NOT created equal!

The Nitro Piston 2 has it all over the original Nitro Piston and almost every other gas spring on the market. Most gas springs have a reputation of being hard to cock, but the NP2 put an end to that. According to airgun writer Tom Gaylord, it's the easiest-cocking gas piston he's ever shot.

But Crosman didn't stop the improvements there. They also improved the trigger so it feels like it's been tuned! Imagine that: A factory trigger that breaks crisp and clean. It has a significantly lighter trigger-pull, not one of those so-called "lawyer" triggers that requires Herculean strength to shoot.

As long as they were making improvements, Crosman decided to make a better and more effective integral sound suppression system that really is quiet. You'll notice an immediate difference between the report from your Nitro Piston 2 air rifle and the older Nitro Piston guns or other brands.

So, let's add up what you'll get in this great package: Easy cocking, fantastic trigger and less noise. And, it's assembled in Crosman's plant in Bloomfield, New York. While that's almost everything you could ever want, there's one more thing…and it's really important: Accuracy. When Tom Gaylord tested a Nitro Piston 2 at an industry show, he commented that he hit everything he aimed at. Isn't that what you want to do? We thought so!

The Benjamin Trail NP2 with a Realtree Xtra camo stock isn't a dream…it's a dream come true. It's here for you to enjoy, to hit everything you're aiming at, and not strain with each cock and each pull of the trigger. They've put the fun back in airgunning!

Things I liked:The break barrel was easy to manipulate. The trigger was smooth, but could be lighter. This might just need time to break in. I put about 50 rounds down range.
Things I would have changed:I would like a better scope option or an option to not have the bundled scope that would cost less. Then I could buy a different scope. I would like to have a lighter trigger. I wish the front stock was a bit wider and less tapered/angled.
What others should know:I usually don't like to post reviews, but in case it warranted a quick write up.. I waited 4 months to get my NP2. I'm glad I did not cancel my order. I found that you need a very firm hold on the stock pushing the rifle into your shoulder to get good accuracy.

Things I liked:The looks of this gun, very manly, felt very solid in your hands, was the best looking rifle I owned, the camo was solid looking and was pretty much flawless, I like the fact that you could attach a sling if wanted, I'd also have to say once again I love dealing with pyramyd air, they are the best, I like their 30 day $$ back garentee I did take full advantage of it before I gave up on this rifle,
Things I would have changed:I know we all have heard the phrase a diamond in the rough, well for me & I stress for me, the rifle was a rough in a diamond, I had some issues my major one was the accuracy, jus when I thought I'd have this gun figured out I wound have a couple flyers while trying to shoot groups, the speed of this rifle was no where near the advertised FPS, I also had problems with the shroud come loose on occasions, I jus wish this rifle would have preformed as well as it looked!
What others should know:This rifle has had some mixed reviews, I think that if its something that your interested in then you should give this rifle a chance, I jus wasn't happy with the proformance, I did try another scope, I put a 4x16x40 center point on it & that did not help, I own a few other rifles & pistols so I do have some experience, I will also put this out there, when I returned this rifle I did get the syn-rod & it is like nothing that I have ever owned it is awesome, once again thanks Pyramyd Air!!!
