Perfect for youth shooters or those who love to plink all day long, the Diana Two Forty Classic hits the mark! At just 20 lbs of cocking effort, most shooters will find operating this break barrel to be a breeze. The 13.5" length of pull also allows shooters of all sizes to find a comfortable fit.

While the Two Forty features open sights, those chasing more precision will appreciate the 11mm dovetail that allows for optics to be mounted. If you're looking for a well made break barrel spring piston rifle for plinking and target shooting that won't break the bank, look no further than the Diana Two Forty Classic!

Things I liked:

First off, this is a Diana "Two Forty" and not the German made 240 Classic. That being said, it's still an overall nice plinking rifle, it's easy to cock, has mid-range power and is quite smooth for a springer, which is great for just casual plinking. Accuracy is very good (I used both Crosman Pointed and H&N Excite Plinking wadcutters). Trigger is ok, nothing stellar to be sure, but better than the plastic Gamo triggers in my opinion. The automatic safety can be annoying at times, but it's probably not a bad thing to have for youth shooters, especially since there isn't a beartrap device (which does allow you to de-cock the rifle, which I like). The finish is nice as well, the bluing is well done and the stock it quite nice with good grain, the inner cutting is a bit rough, but it's ok in this price point.

Things I would have changed:

Pyramid Air should really update the listing and photos to make it clear that it's the Two Forty. Would also be nice if there were a "Two Forty Deluxe" version fitted with the T05 copied trigger that is used by the Ruger Air Hawk, as I suspect they are made by the same factory, I doubt it would happen... but a guy can dream.

What others should know:

It may not be a German made Diana, but all things considered, along with the $99.99-119.99 price point, I'm not complaining.

Love the stock and smoothness of the action. Great value for the price.

Things I would have changed:

Seems to be somewhat pellet picky so far.

Things I liked:

Accurate, nice sights, good quality wood used for stock, 11mm rail sharp and long enough, acceptable cocking pressure, OK trigger, weight good for a break barrel, easy to handle, good cheek weld, great price for a Diana, two-year warranty, reasonably quiet shooter. Some qualifiers, please read on ....

Things I would have changed:

Provide the trigger described in the manual and advertised. Very important to some of us. I have a love/hate (60-40) feeling on the automatic safety.

What others should know:

The trigger is OK. It is not the trigger advertised or listed in the manual. It is plain rounded metal with no safety like on the Chaser and Airbug. It is smooth with a subtle two-stage engagement and proper take-up, hardly noticeable. The sights are good, but the accuracy picked up a couple of level with a red dot installed. The BSA red dot I used only added 8 ounces to the gun's weight and is worth it. The cheek weld was perfect for me with the red dot. Cocking seemed a bit heavier than 20 pounds, but acceptable for teenagers and adults, not children. I would not pay $150 for this rifle, but $99 is a very good price. I'm happy I bought it all things considered. Pyramyd made it even better with a $10 Christmas bonus.
