Description
- Degassing tool
- Removes air or CO2 from your Discovery's reservoir
To use the degasser:
- Screw the tool into the hole in the back of the receiver until it contacts
- Turn it a few more times
- When air or CO2 starts exhausting, stop turning it
- Unscrew & remove the degasser when all the air or CO2 has been removed
If you want to dry-fire your gun, this removes the remaining air or CO2 in your gun's reservoir. If you want to change from CO2 to high-pressure air, remove the CO2 with this tool before filling with air...and vice versa. This tool comes with some of the guns but not others. Replace any that you've lost or get this just in case your degasser is lost.

6 of 6 Benjamin Discovery Degasser Reviews
Works as designed after screw threads were cleaned up.
Things I Would Have ChangedManufacturer should check their mfg. process or QA to ensure screw threads are clean and functional.
What Others Should KnowAs experienced by other reviewers, first time tool screwed into gun required excessive force and friction on threads possibly by poor threading, contamination of screw threads. After cleaning up with 10-32 die the tool now operates smoothly although the knob was buggered up from previous use of pliers.
Tool works as it should
Things I Would Have Changedmake it out of stainless steel or at least all steel
Easyier way to degass than repeatedly cocking and dry firing.
Things I Would Have ChangedMake it easier to screw in.
What Others Should KnowI second what Thomas says about the threads on the tool. I had to use channel locks on the last several turns to get it to work and release air.
The tool is an easy way to exhaust CO2 or high pressure air out of the Discovery Rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedWhen I tried to screw the tool into my rifle it seemed like the machine threads were uneven. The first 1/2 in of thread seemed OK but then I could hardly turn the tool to screw it in the gun. I should have returned it to Pyramyd but after working with it awhile, I finally loosened the machine threads enough to actually exhaust air from my rifle.
What Others Should KnowIf you buy one of these tools, make sure it screws into the gun with no binding or effort. If it does, send it back.
Strong, machined well, works as advertised. The fact that you can purge the Discovery is outstanding, even if it costs a few bucks. Much better than cocking and pulling the trigger a hundred times.
Things I Would Have ChangedSeems expensive, but I guess that comes when you make a product that will sell a limited number of units.
What Others Should KnowThis item is pretty small and you could easily misplace it. At 2,000 psi I could not purge the Discovery easily. At 1,100 psi, or lower, it was easy to screw the degasser in and release the remaining high pressure air.

If need to empty air, then this should do the job.
Things I Would Have ChangedPer other reviewer's comments about being too tight, I used 10-32 die set to clean threads, but it was very difficult. Conventional 10-32 nut worked smoothly, but perhaps it is a tad oversize because the die set was very tight.
