Mine does not get the shots they say I should and I am still evaluating it. So far, it has been a great squirrel gun.

Things I liked:Let me start this review off stating that this air arm is beyond surgical for the money.
The test:
- bench rest (sandbag)
-1-2 mph wind
-30 yard from tip of barrel to target.
- psi pumped to 1800 psi (hand pump)
-10x42 Super Sniper scope / leveled / bore sited
-Crossman Premier Hollow Point pellets (personal favorite)

- psi pumped to 1800 psi (hand pump)
-10x42 Super Sniper scope / leveled / bore sited

Now for the test results. I fired my first 3 shots and was absolutely amazed. All 3 shots were pin point stacked into the tree bark. I then fired about 10 more shots to get an average grouping. I got a .35 inch grouping at 30 yards. After shooting this rifle all day I found the groups to stay insanely tight from 1900-1350 psi. Under 1300 psi I noticed drop from targets within 50yards. This gun is beyond surgical (accurate) for the money. Things I would have changed:Another barrel clamp. Although Ive heard about barrel flex but mine has none. I do not see one barrel clamp being a huge issue (although my gun is new) What others should know:Hand pumping this thing takes about 100 pumps and is honestly a work out. After a full day of use, I am saving up for a high pressure air tank and adapter for this air gun.

Things I would have changed:Modifications that I did were: the 3 screw trigger mod., TKO muzzle brake, power adjuster ($1.50 at Lowe's) and a "custom" stock. The muzzle brake and the trigger mod. were the most significant improvements. I prefer to do these things myself and keep the original cost of the gun low. What others should know:With the power adjuster, I tuned the gun to 910 fps with Crosman Premier 10.5 grain pellets where it shoots 3/4 inch groups at 50 yards. I can get 20 shots in the same velocity spread before having to refill. This makes the gun very shootable out to 60 yards. You can also switch to Benjamin Discovery hollowpoints with very little if any change in POI. I added a Crosman Centerpoint 16X scope. I have taken several squirrels and blackbirds out to 60 yards with this set-up.

Also, it can be shot on a bench rest unlike most Springers. I can hit tin cans offhand at 50 yards most of the time with 3-9x50 Centerpoint scope. Things I would have changed:I'm a woodworker and I can tell you the stock is not Walnut. It looks like stained Alder, Poplar or something. You can see the sanding marks. Ugly stock. I think you could replace it, one screw. I don't mind the trigger unless I'm shooting at the bench long distance. The rest of the gun is fine. What others should know:The 22 cal went through 3/4 plywood at 10 yards. I shot an Arctic Hare in the head at 10 yards and it did a back flip and died in a few seconds. At 50 yards it drops about 2-3 inches but at 100 yards it drops 3ft! Max range is about 60-80 yards I think. Still trying to find a good pellet but Crossman Premier Hollowpoints or BD Hollowpoints seem to work very well.

I can keep all my shots on a dime at 30 yards and I don't miss any squirrels in the backyard anymore like I did with my springers. Also, the pump is very well built and should last for a very long time as long as you take care of it. Things I would have changed:Two things I did to mine was add another barrel band towards the front to keep the barrel from flexing so much. It was only $2.66 from Crosman and the set screws were cheap also. Another thing I did was add a TKO muzzle brake and it is just as quiet if not quieter than the Marauder now. What others should know:Without a muzzle brake this thing is LOUD and could get you into trouble if you have neighbors nearby. Even with the extra parts, muzzle brake, and a decent scope you will come out under 500 bucks with a very well made rifle and pump. Excellent value for the money and pyramyd service is THE BEST.
I have sold my other two springers since getting this rifle because the accuracy of the Discovery can't be beat.

Very good accuracy results so far, ragged hole at 10 meters on my indoor range. The trigger despite being all plastic breaks clean. Things I would have changed:The trigger is plastic and detracts from the rifle, it shoots fine though. The stocks are roughly finished, but decent. What others should know:A very solid pcp rifle at a amazing price. Very accurate with crosman premiers and hollow points tested so far. Daisy "precision max" wadcutters shot terribly through this rifle. Takes @130 pumps to fill to 2000 psi, @ 30-70 to recharge depending on how low you took it. You get 25 solid shots out to about 40 total. It's fairly easy to pump until you close on 2000 psi. I'm very happy with it.

Things I would have changed:The trigger is a bit mushy (not crisp) and definitly louder than a spring piston rifle, but a PCP also doesn't have hold-sensitivity issues like a springer so big advantages with the few negative I mention! Additional Barrel band out at end to keep POI from shifting. What others should know:This was my first purchase into the PCP realm of airrifles and 2 days into this venture I am still impressed. Initial testing I got 860-870FPS (.22 cal) with RWS Superdomes and 830-840FPS with Crosman Premiers. Very stout velocities for a gun in this price range. Very accurate as long as you don't mess with the barrel (thats why I recommend an additional barrel band) After sighting in dropped a starling at 42 yards no problem. I would definitly recommend a good scope, especially the Hawke line of scopes w/downloadable software to predict your trajectory at each aiming point.
After doing substantial research into the operation and flaws of this particular rifle seem that this gun is a tinkerers dream and the addition of a few key components can make the ownership of this gun much more enjoyable. Mike over at TKO Muzzlebreaks can add a device that quiets it down substantially along with trigger work and barrel banding and tuning the rifle up a few FPS. Dropping another few bucks on this rifle is most likely a good idea to turn it into a quiet-tuned-up shooter. Its certainly not necessary though...you'll be happy with it out of box. Pumping the gun takes some effort but managable. My take is if you don't have a PCP...this is the one to get, you will enjoy the heck out of it and if your in tight places around houses you may want a muzzlebreak to hush it down a bit.

The pump appears to be the same as sold for Airforce air rifles. Received the Benjamin in .22 cal two weeks ago. Took it out to the range this morning. My son at 11 years old can pump up the rifle with some effort. Sighted in with RWS target pellets at 15 yards in 5 shots. It was windy this morning, here in Wisconsin, so 25 yard accuracy was mediocre. The Rws target pellets didn't group as well, but the Hpoints were excellent. Superdome left me somewhat disappointed and the Crosman premier hollowpoints didn't do much. This rifle puts alot of energy on the taget. My son and I were shooting empty shotgun hulls at 25-40 yards. The results were entirely satisfactory and impressive. If you have to buy one air rifle, this one would be an excellent choice. THIS GUN IS NOISY, if you want to shoot in close proximity to neighbors this is not the gun to choose. The Maurauder would be a better choice
My son says, it's really really good! RWS Hpoints hit the empty shells HARRRD. One I hit threw a 3.5 inch shot gun hull 15 yards from the 25 target holder. AWESOME! Things I would have changed:The trigger although plastic works. I'm not fond of the trigger, but my son and I were able to engage targets at varying ranges accurately.
My son says loading is not the easiest, and it does require some dextereity. What others should know:Don't forget to get a variety of pellets when you get this air rifle. I chose the Premier hpoints along with RWS target, superdome, and Hpoint. It already appears that different ranges will dictate different pellets. The energy transferred is incredible. Don't under estimate the capabilities of this air rifle, doing so could cause serious issues with neighbors or anything down range.
I'm looking forward to calmer to or no wind conditions to fully check this air rifle out.

I've had it since Christmas 2008 (It's now April 8th) and it's held up well. However, I haven't gotten to shoot it as much as I would have liked. Things I would have changed:I would have changed the trigger. Also, the body has a little scuff on it because it touched cement, don't ever let it do that. It's sooooo pretty. Also, where you load the pellet is a little small and this is annoying because everytime you have to go and re-put it in or shake it around. What others should know:This is the first airgun that I have ever had and i love it. I'm only 13, can pump it up to 2,00 psi very quickly and even over a little. I have the .177 version of the gun. You don't really need many other things if you go with this version. All that I have bought are pellets, however, a .177 cleaning kit is soon on my list because there's one reviewer that said that it was dirty on the inside.

I have not been able to shoot it a lot, but I have found it to be very accurate with a few different types of pellets at 20 yards. I need to do more testing. Things I would have changed:The trigger of course. This thing is just all around bad. Why crossman doesn't do something about this thing I don't know. If you shoot the gun enough you can get use to it, but it's just terrible at the start. This gun is loud! I can't stress this enough. If you plan to shoot this gun in an area with neighbors even remotely close make sure they don't mind. Other than those two things the gun itself is great. I don't understand why crossman wouldn't include the degass tool on a gun designed for CO2 and air. Just seems like a nickle and dime kind of thing if you ask me. What others should know:If you are just getting into PCP or have been in it for a while this gun is a lot of fun, easy to use and it's the cheapest gun in the PCP class. This is one case where the old saying "You get what you pay for" doesn't apply. This gun proves you don't have to pay $600 or more just to get into PCP.

Things I would have changed:quiter, once you shoot the other varmint run scare, lighter trigger. What others should know:This is a powerfull air rifle not a toy, manage to hit and make a hole in a empty can of crossman pellets aiming 1 inch high, at 80 yards with discovery hollow .177 cal 10.5 gr., my pump when bad after 3 day, return it back to pyramyd, customer service was very helpfull, I can't wait for the new pump to arrive!

And the pest in my yard never stood a chance aginst this super accurate rifle. Every time i pulled the trigger the rats just kept going down. Outstanding!! Out freaking standing this rilfe kicks ass!! Things I would have changed:If you dont have a multishot magizine for this rifle already it would really be nice. I would be able to chamber a round without taking my eyes of the target while reaching for another round. What others should know:If your not sure about buying this gun, Go ahead and buy it its most definately worth it.

Wood stock had some distinctly discolored areas. What others should know:This was my first PCP air rifle and made getting started with a PCP very easy. I ordered (and have tried) a wide variety of pellet shapes & weights to use with this rifle.
I planned to mount a scope, but tried to sight in with the open sights first. Even with the rear sight adjusted as high as it will go the gun still shoots a bit low at 25 yards.
I then mounted a scope and easily got it sighted in. The rifle shot a variety of pellets fairly accurately, but being new it seemed that each group had a "flier" or two in it opening groups to around 1" at 25 yards. Not bad, but not quite as good as I had hoped for.
I find the more I shoot the rifle, the better the groups are getting. The break-in period for my rifle seems to have gone well past 200 shots, but as I'm approaching 400 shots through it accuracy is getting better. It seems to handle a wide variety of pellet weights and shapes well.
Charging the gun was a bit of a workout, but it just takes some time & effort with the hand pump provided. I shoot until pressure drops to around 1000 psi then charge to 2000 psi, and this takes around 75-80 strokes on the pump. When fully charged it gives me around 30 shots before needing re-charged.
I'd have to say that this rifle is a winner! It takes some work to get it charged, but it provides plenty of accurate shooting in return. The accuracy seem to be good throughout the range of 1000 - 2000 psi.
Don't be too quick to judge the accuracy potential of the rifle, as (at least for my rifle) the barrel needs a long break-in period.
The more I shoot it the better I like it!

What others should know:I put a leapers 3-9x32 range estimating mil-dot scope on it this works very well. Another nice thing is that you do not have to worrry about the temperature when you want to shoot it unlike spring guns. This is a GOOD thing. The criters will feel the heat in any temp!

Things I liked:Pumping to 2000psi is a world of difference from pumping other airrifles to 3000psi. After shooting from 2000 down to 1000 it takes about 60 pumps to bring it back up and I do it without stopping in less tha 2 minutes. I am 57 years old but physically fit. It is a nice, light aerobic workout and will increase your heart rate but does not fatigue your muscles like 3000 would. The gauge on the gun is very useful. The gun shot consistently all the way from 2000 to 1000 and I could not tell much variation in sound or power (I'll chrono later.) The wood and metal were really finished quite nicely. It is a good looking rifle. Best of all, this is a rifle you will use and keep handy in a corner. At this price you don't worry about scratches or banging it up a little. The pump works great and the quick disconnect is the way to go. Things I would have changed:Maybe put a latch on the pump that locks the handle to the body. That way you could pick it up by the handle to carry around without the thing wanting to extend. What others should know:You have to have one of these. Best value going! I topped mine with an AirForce 3x9 40mm scope (just like in the Pyramyd video) and the thing is dead accurate.

The gun seemed to shoot pretty well with any of the pellets i've tried so far, but did seem to shoot the best with rws super dome pellets. gun is well worth the money, and pumping it up is easy. this is my first pcp gun and is very well made. nothing about it seemed cheap to me. a few people said they didn't like the plastic trigger. it actually feels pretty decent, and predictable to me. Things I would have changed:I think it would be a more rounded package if it included the co2 filler. at least the degas tool (the degas "tool" is basically a long thumb screw) i cant imange that the tool costs more then a few pennies to make. not too big a deal here but you need the tool to depressureize the gun if you over pump it and lock the valve. i haven't done this myself but im sure it does come up for a few, and would be nice if this needed item was on hand rather then having to buy it later if such a thing happens or you want to run co2 in the gun. What others should know:if your debating on getting this air rifle, you wont be disappointed. its well worth the money. now that i have tried PCP, i don't think im going to go back to springers. its nice to just pump it up and i am good to go. if you wanna just kick back and punch paper, or plink. filling with co2 gives you lots of shots and isn't very expensive to use. (much cheaper to refill then guns using 12 gram and 88 gram co2 cartridges)

Things I would have changed:Put a little better finish on the stock...my rifle was dull and needs some attention..ill put a new finish on her this winter.Put a little larger fill tube on this rifle for more shots and maybe a little more power. What others should know:I have some chrony results for everyone..jsb predator=average velocity 805,..beeman kodiak..722..jsb exact jumbo..805.Each was tested with a 20 shot string and starting fill at 2000psi.My rifle likes to be started out at 1700psi for best accuracy and the tightest groups..the jsb jumbo seems to be the best for my rifle with the kodiak in a close 2nd place.I have more testing to do but i hope this helps out for a starting point for owners of this fine rifle.Ive used this for squirrel season and have taken 6 reds and they have all been humaine kills out to 40 yards and in.My gun has a sweet spot at 1700psi-1200psi....if i miss its me not the gun.Pumping the gun isnt to bad..i have to stop about 3 times to take a break..lol...but the fun i have is worth the work.

After I finished pumping it, took it outside and fired a few shots and this baby is loud, at least compared to my other air rifles. After a little while shooting it, I went back in the house pumped it up again and ate lunch. After I was done I looked outside through the glass doors only to find a squirrel sitting very still in a tree maybe 20-30 yards away. I quickly grabbed the discovery and from 20 or 30 yards took the squirrel with no problem. Hit him and he fell from the tree to the floor and only wiggled around for a few seconds before his nut-eating life came to a short end. I think that the open sights are excellent, but this gun is better served by a scope. I have a kind of crappy 4x32 scope that I put on and since it is dark now, I will sight it in tomorrow. The pump included is very very nice, heavy and well built. Easy to use and bring new shooters to the PCP world. Things I would have changed:The trigger, I don't like plastic triggers usually and this one is no different. Feels a little heavy. Loading pellets is a real pain! Keep a cleaning rod handy because I always got my pellets stuck and couldn't shake them out. Benjamin should really make the breech bigger or something. Makes it even harder to load the pellet with a scope on it. Filling the gun up from 0 PSi to 2000 is a real workout What others should know:

It is now a very capable target/varmit rifle Things I would have changed:I don't like the plastic trigger and trigger guard. I know that keeps the price low, but it cheapens a really great rifle. I also wish the cheek rest was an inch taller. That would make using the Leapers easier to use. What others should know:Get a high quality scope. With a good scope you can hit the edge of the Disco's capabilities. Get the rifle tuned by an experienced airgun smith, such as Roy Weid. An airgun smith will work out all the annoyances left by Crosman. Use good pellets. I use JSB Exacts and Beeman Crow Mags.

What others should know:0.3" groups using - 177 cal. Disovery Hollow Points & Exact Heavies. I have literally blown through the deflector of my Gamo Cone Trap @ 10 meters. It is unavoidably loud, especially using light ammo (i.e. raptors, etc.). Initial pump-up is somewhat difficult but re-charge from approx. 1000 psi doesn't seem bad at all to me. Remember to open the bleed valve quickly or else the reservoir valve will leak due to it's dependance on pressure differential between it and the hose to close (1st time I charged I lost approx. 1000 psi to this, ugh!!). I hope this helps you make the decision to obtain this gun, I believe that it is a real keeper.

Seems to very sturdy and should last several life times. The pump is really well made and the rifle is definitely a step up from some of the pump ups like the 392. The sights are distinctive and easy to focus in on. It does take 100 pumps or so to get to 2000 psi and yes it is a workout of sorts but in a nice way. It takes about 30-33 pumps from 1000 psi to 2000 psi which givwes about 15-20 high power shots before yuo have to repump. Things I would have changed:Not much actually. The plastic trigger seems to be well built enough for most uses. Some reviewers have talked about the barrel movement but that may be planned, I do not know. Perhaps a bit more space in the breech to load your pellets - very minor item. What others should know:An excellent choice and a good choice for hunting, plinking or as a supplement to your regular firearms. Have shot it into some very hard woods and it penetrated very well. More than adequate for small game hunting..

Things I liked:The accuracy is superb.

I wish Crossman had invented this three years ago. What others should know:This is a .22. I took it out of the box, read the directions, pumped it up and shot one shot to made sure it worked. Then I took the BSA scope off my old Gamo 440 and installed it. After 9 adjustments, at 25 meters, I can keep my groups tighter than the head of a standard thumbtack with the gun rested on a beanbag. It is amazing.

The rifle is light weight: the air pump appears to be of good quality, the assembly of the pump is simple, and it is easy to connect/disconnect to the rifle; there is good accuracy between the gun and air pressure gages, the gun is very simple to pressurize with the pump (little over 100 strokes empty and less than 50 strokes between recharges); there is very little to no recoil. I initially used the iron sight (was accurate at 30 yards) until I received the BSA scope. Things I would have changed:Need to allow for additional forward travel for the mounting of the scope as the back of the scope is close to the breech where the pellets are loaded (it's not that bad). The hose for the air pump needs to be longer which would allow the rifle to be off the floor during filling. What others should know:For my needs, I purchased the BSA 30mm Red Dot scope. I made one adjustment (lucky) for the elevation and azimuth and was able to get groupings this size of a dime at 25 yards using the Predator pellets. I have rabbit issues and every shot has been accurate. I've used the JSB .22 Diabolo Exact Jumbo which worked well an I'm extremely satisfied with the JSB .22 Predator

I can not wait to get out and try this on some squirrels. Things I would have changed:I would have like to have seen included in the kit a pressure bleed off tool and some extra lubricant for the o-ring on the bolt action. My only concern was to dry fire the rifle until you got the pressure bled off. What others should know:I did notice that there was a little rubber pouch of pellets that shipped with the air rifle kit there is a problem there because I purchased a .22 cal and it was shipped with some freebie .177 cal pellets. It is something to pay attention to. Do not assume that since it shipped with your rifle that it is the right pellet.

Crossman/Benjamin could offer accessory sights with a finer bead. Also add another barrel band near the front sight. What others should know:I first saw the new Benjamin Discovery advertised by PyramydAir in the June 08 issue of Predator Xtreme magazine. Previously, I had intended to purchase another springer to replace my 40 year old Wischo however the ad sent me into research mode to learn more about this new product. I read all the reviews and blogs I could find and after a few days, even with some of the "new product" problems reported, I placed my order with PyramydAir for the .22 gun/pump combination. I patiently waited through two backorders and finally received my order near the end of June. First out of the box, I noticed how light wieght the rifle is compared to my old Wischo. The stock is a nice "plain-jane" wood that fits me perfectly. This is not the type of rifle you hang on the wall or put in a gun case to admire. This is a well balanced "usable" rifle that you will enjoy shooting. I chronographed four different types of pellets, 10 shots each, starting each group with a fresh 2000 psi charge. The RWS Hobby 11.9 gr averaged 832 fps, Benjamin Discovery HP 14.3 gr averaged 786 fps, JBS Predator 16.5 gr averaged 754 fps and the Beeman Crow Magnum 18.2 gr averaged 718 fps. The JBS was the most accurate providing dime size groups at 30 meters, however my favorite pellet for this rifle has become the Benjamin Discovery HP. The sights are not very good for this rifle. I purchased a CenterPoint Power Class 3-12 x 44 Compact scope with side adjustable objective. I mounted the scope with Beeman 5031 30 mm rings and this combination fits me perfectly. I will review the Scope seperately. So far I have shot about 700 pellets throught this rifle and I have not had any problems. The pump works well and the rifle holds the charge without any leaks. I charge the rifle to 2000 psi (by the pump gauge) and then recharge when the pressure reaches about 1000 (by the gun gauge). I usually store the rifle overnight and sometimes for several days with a charge of 1000 psi without any loss of pressure. The scope (17 oz) and rings add just over one pound to the total weight. To summarize, this is a very fine and "usable" air rifle. I'm glad I made this purchase. I hope it last as long as my old Wischo.

For the price a lot more gun than you will find from any other manufacture! Pump seems well built, time will tell, since this rifle operates at a very efficient 2000psi max filling is quite easy!! I think this will also put less stress on the pumps seals and inner working's helping add to the life of the pump, but it will still fill the higher operating pressures of the larger psi requirements of other gun's as the pressure gauge goes to 3500psi but the manual that comes with it says not to exceed 3600psi in other pcp's, so you get into pcp's at a low cost and if you like can upgrade to another rifle and still have a means of filling it to max pressure!!! I LIKE!! Things I would have changed:The trigger is the only complaint I would have, maybe a ventilated recoil pad to add a little extra length of pull (this is for the larger shooter as I am 6'2" tall and long armed) for smaller framed shooters it is probably perfect! Would it cost that much to throw a set of sling swivel studs on it? The refill hose on the pump would be better if it was about 6 inches longer! but is very easy to connect and disconnect. What others should know:My rifle didn't like the lighter silver bear pellets or the heavier crow magnum's, it shot crossman premier's and jsb diabolo exact's equally well @ 25 yards with 1/4" 5shot groups easy to obtain and repeat over and over, from 1000 psi I filled the gun to the 2000psi full charge and the first three shots were out of the group but each shot went closer and closer to the the 5 shot 1 hole group I was shooting before the fill and from then on the pellets stayed in the original group and did not open it up. I found I would get between 23 to 27 shots with the full charge of 2000psi to 1000 psi and believe for max accuracy 1000psi to around 1800psi the very best one can expect from a lightweight hunting gun, and plenty accurate enough for informal target shooting!!! I at this time would make this purchase again!!! If you want to get into a pcp from scratch this is THE ONLY CHOICE I WOULD RECOMMEND TO SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER USED A PCP!!!! I have made no comments about the open sights because I never used them I scoped the gun instantly with a 2.5-10x42mm AO scope as soon as I got and cleaned it! and I believe this gun deserves a good scope to realize it's true potential!! The last thing I recommend is that you take the time to clean the bore before ever you ever shoot it, this is mandatory for any gun I get used or new!!! it is not an option, this gun seemed to have a heavy oily coating in the bore and took several patches sprayed with brake cleaner to dissolve it, MAN WAS IT WORTH THE SMILE ON MY FACE WHEN i INSTANTLY SIGHTED IN THE SCOPE AND BEGAN TO SHOOT GROUPS!!! I could go on and on but I'll end this by saying if your reading this your thinking about buying one, so read no more and BUY IT NOW, or regret not getting it sooner when you finally do buy one!!!!!! FACT! I'm giving it the highest rating because of the quality for price factor that I believe is untouchable!!

Things I would have changed:Need to put studs in stock to put sling or bipod.Maybe kick up the working pressure to get more shots out of one fill. When carrying rifle hunting you get 25 powerful shots but if lots of animals or get to going bizerco and start shooting everything you see it will run out fast, and that pump is not something you want to haul around with you.About 3-4 lbs. What others should know:the trigger is plastic, but not as bad as discribed.I was going to get a webley patriot but decided to get discovery and think it was a wise choice.Every springer I have starts off with plenty of speed thenfalls off the chart when it settles in.They are accurate with the right pellets, but need to learn to elevate. With new discovery have to learn to brake my self of this habbit.I wad shooting over everything due to stable speed of pellet. This is one hell of a rifle for us people who like quality but dont want to pay $700-1000 for it.The poor mans pcp. If you can justify the cost with the wife get this rifle and you will not be disappointed.

Even with the heavy trigger, the rifle is accurate but you must concentrate too much on the trigger pull. What others should know:Very good rifle for the money.

20 yards I was able to hit dry wall screw several times, at 50 yards I would say I got about a 1" group. At 35 yards I got a nickel group with JBS Diabolo Exact, man how exciting!
Things I would have changed:just a though; how about a six round clip; I'm sure someone will do this soon any way. What others should know:It takes a little effort to pump it up but not bad. Find the right pellet for yours; the Benjamin .22 Diabolo seem to work good in mine, and Crosman CP, and of course the JBS. Seem a little loud.

Even shooting off hand this rifle is giving me better accuracy than I thought I was capable of shooting, the English sparrows going to be surprised ;). At 10m the pellets pass right through spruce so they should give excellent penetration on small to medium game. The fit and finish of the rifle is decent for the price and I found the heft and balance quite good. The hand pump is very well built, nearly as heavy as the gun and not difficult to use. Things I would have changed:The only things I would change about this gun would be the bolt and trigger. The bolt should have increased travel to give more room when loading the pellet. It also should have a more positive action, when the gun is loaded there is nothing to keep the bolt in position and it will rotate to the up position with very little resistance. The trigger pull is smooth but quite heavy and the face of the trigger is flat with square edges that don't fit my finger very well. What others should know:Unlike the spring gun I've been using there is no recoil on the discovery so your grip doesn't throw off its accuracy. this makes it far better in the field where you may be shooting at odd angles and not able to achieve a uniform grip every time.

It sure feels good to shoot compared to my Very Heavy RWS 54. I LIKE IT !!!!!! Things I would have changed:I wish the bolt would open just a little more, with my failing eyes it is a little hard to get used to inserting pellets with a scope mounted.
I do not particulary like the trigger, think it could have been improved some.
The stock is sort of plain but it feels good.
Wished that the muzzel end of the barrel was secured, as it can move easily and it seems to me that that could affect the accuracy but surprisingly it doesn't seem to.
However all these things are not critical. What others should know:It is a sweet shooting rifle,At 15 yards I can easily put 5 rounds all cutting one hole. It has been very windy here the last couple weeks but I have shot in the wind and at 35 yards I easily put 5 rounds that a nickle will cover. With my RWS 54 a dime will cover. I think my problem is the trigger, I have the RWS adjusted to almost a hair trigger.
It is very picky on pellets it likes, I have tried several, mine likes the 15.8 gr JSB exacts best, 14.3 gr RWS Meisterkugein and JSB express almost as good. Most others I tried were not near as accurate.
It shoots from about 780 to 825 FPS.
It shoots the best when the pressure on the guage is just touching the 2 and all the way down to the yellow, I sometimes shoot it into the yellow before I even notice any change in accuracy, you can expect to get at least 30 to 35 Very good shots per fill.
This is now my favorite Rifle.

All small game taken with this gun was put down instantly with one shot. Things I would have changed:I would change the trigger and trigger guard to metal, although the slightly heavy pull has a crisp break and accuracy does not suffer, the plastic makes the gun seem lesser in quality than it actually is. What others should know:This is no toy!
Know where you are firing and what is behind your target because this gun has substantial power.
