The Hawke Sidewinder riflescope is designed for extreme shooting, and has amazing clarity with its 18 layer, fully multi-coated glass. The 30mm scope offers high resolution viewing and a bright sharp picture in all lighting conditions. The lens configurations have been carefully selected to offer the optimum performance in low light conditions, while offering excellent range finding properties.

If you like clear, sharp, crisp images when you look through your scope, then mount this scope on your rifle. Hawke has a reputation for producing superior scopes, and their Sidewinder models deliver some of the best pictures you'll ever see through an optical device. While all scopes give you a picture, the Sidewinder will deliver one that will help you shoot better because you'll be able to distinguish even the smallest details when you home in on your target. Be forewarned…once you use this scope, all your other scopes will suddenly disappoint you.

From its superior glass to the etched glass SR Pro illuminated reticle, you’ll be on your target right away. And because of the robust build of your Hawke scope, you can use it on any firearm or airgun – even those with heavy recoil.

The Sidewinder features a side focusing system designed to Parallax from 10 yds to Infinity. The open Sniper-style turrets are calibrated to 1/4 MOA per click. The reticle illumination brightness adjustment is positioned on the side focus turret. This allows 5 Red and 5 Green settings. The settings have been carefully considered to produce low enough illumination levels for dawn and dusk shooting. If you prefer the solid black reticle, simply turn off the illumination.

The fully multi-coated lenses are waterproof, shockproof, and nitrogen filled for the best possible light transmission.

This scope comes equipped with a 2” side wheel to enhance range finding, a sunshade for bright conditions, and screw-in lens covers to protect the outer lenses.

Please note: If you plan to mount your Hawke Sport Optics riflescope on a spring powered airgun, please choose a scope that features a 30mm tube chassis.

Things I liked: Hard to know where to begin...everything the other reviewers have said is true. Supurb quality all around, far more accurate than certainly I can shoot, but with features that are teaching me to shoot better. In the past, I've tended to scope for the lower powers based on the idea that I'm unlkely to engage a target beyond 100 to 200 yards/meters or so. An air gun, half that. So my collection of air/firearms tend strongly to carbines wearing 1X-4X scopes, the idea being if one is woods-walking a 1X setting allows keeping both eyes open for quick target acquisition. Now, all the sudden the Hawke scope allows me to actually see the pellet going downrange -easily- and watch it rise and fall with its trajectory and even more importantly just how much even a gentle crosswind effects the right-left impact point. Pellets being far more sensitive than even .22's, much less .308 projectiles. Learning to use the half mill-dot reticle allows quantification so you can do the same every time.

Things I would have changed: Nothing with the scope, but the instructions could be on a bigger piece of paper. Aging eyes and all that, you know.

What others should know: Don't skimp on the mounts, and pay attention to where it's going. Mine is on an AirArms S510 with a rotating magazine protruding above. A one piece base is not going to work with that, so pay attention. The mechanics of the turrets vs your personal needs for eye relief may require offset rings. This is a physically longish scope, (but not abnormal or excessive) so if it's to go on a springer, make sure it's going to clear the loading port.

Things I liked: Clear and bright even at 20x

What others should know: Put this on my cricket bullpup .25 and it a deadly combo. same hole groups at 35 yards. scope stays on zero.

  • Matt from USA asked:

Can someone recommend some good flip covers for this scope?

    • Stanley from USA:

These high-end scopes usually come with good flip-ups but if you wanted to change them, then i use the ones made by weaver they call them polar caps. These are made of soft rubber that are form fitting with a push button release.I have these on my ruger 10/22 and i really like them.

  • Dean from USA asked:

Will the two inch wheel allow loading on an AA 510 with high mount rings?

    • Stanley from USA:

With high mounts it should clear.
