10 of 22 Crosman Titan GP Nitro Piston - Lower Velocity Reviews
It's a good rifle for the price and you get piston technology. I bought this and the stoger x20 with the silencer and the Titan was way quieter. I like the easy pumping because it is really smooth. The gun is a good shooter but I have only plinked with it and I have yet to try it on paper to see how it groups. Pros:
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
What Others Should KnowSuper quiet and smooth
PRICE! Easy to cock. Thumbhole stock. Gas piston. This is an all day shooter; I got it today, and shot it in the garage for some 8 hours. It has a lot of eye appeal. The lower velocity makes it fairly quiet, and an ideal indoor shooter. Perfect starter gun for new shooters.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe safety is awful. I fixed it.
What Others Should KnowI put nearly 200 rounds thru it, with six different pellets. This gun doesn't like heavy pellets, but groups well with 11 to 14 grain ammo. LockTite all the scope screws. If you're expecting a tack driver, you will be disappointed, but a better scope may help.
The trigger pull is surprisingly smooth, albeit a bit long. If you have never shot a gas piston air gun, I highly recommend this one.
Wow,popped the scope on fired 3 shots, made a slight adjustment on the scope, and now shoots a group the size of a nickel. Hardly any recoil and quieter than my springers. Loving it.
Things I Would Have ChangedWish it had iron sights ,so if scope failed in field you could still fire.
What Others Should KnowFor the price it should not be negative. Great rifle.
Works great right out of the package. Took about 20-30 minutes to get the included scope sighted correctly but once that was done this gun has been extremely accurate. I am using Crosman Premier Domed pellets and have had no issues. Very easy to cock and load. Very little recoil and the noise level is very low. I would say it's barely louder than my sons plastic pump BB/pellet gun. This is the reason I opted for the lower velocity in the first place. I am only using it for backyard pests and this is more than powerful enough to do the job.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt's a little heavy for younger or smaller people. I have no problems with it myself but I would not recommend this for younger kids learning to shoot. Scope is nothing special but works well enough for free. Obviously no one is buying the gun for the scope that it comes with!
Joseph Bako , Cincinnati Ohio . I really like the pistol type grip , and the feel of this gun on my shoulder . Gun is a bit heavier than Im used to . This gun hits really hard . 22 cal . is a nice change from .177 . Very accurate , and predictable . Once you have it dialed in , the only variable youll have to account for is your own breathing and heartbeat .
Things I Would Have ChangedA bit heavy . Better trigger .
What Others Should KnowNice change from .177 . Hard hitting . Fun .
Low cost. Very accurate. It took 5 rounds to sight in my Leapers 3-9x32AO scope and then I was consistantly hitting bullseyes at 10 yards. The barrel fits perfectly to the receiver so there is no excess play at all. Easy to cock and yet it still has a good amount of power.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe scope that comes with it is a throw away. The scope mounts are very low. If you buy an AO scope for this rifle you will need highter scope mounts. And, as everyone else has said, the trigger is very heavy and has an extreemly long second stage.
What Others Should KnowTake the time to scrub the barrel out before you start shooting it and you can dramatically shorten or even eliminate the break in period. I just got this rifle today and already its one of my favs.
This gun looks nice and is well made. The scope does the job but is not all that clear for my eyes. I tried several different types of high quality pellets and even after several hundred shots and a good cleaning I was un-able to get groups under an inch and a half at 10 yards with the gun setting free on a bench rest. The nitro piston is nice as far as recoil goes there is very little jump when the gun is fired and is also very quiet.
Things I Would Have ChangedDo away with the scope and put a set of sights on this gun and I think it would help accuracy some. The safety is a little too close to the trigger but that is easily remedied by removing the gun from the stock and carefully bending it forward some. Trigger travel is excessive and the adjustment seems to do little to change that.
What Others Should Knowfor those who like to buy American, Even though this gun is sold as a crosman it is made in China. When shooting this rifle a light grip works best both front and back. I got the best accuracy with H&N round nose match pellets with RWS Meisterkugeln a close second. This gun is a nice plinker and cocking efffort is lite, but if your looking for fine accuracy this is not the gun for you.
This IS an easy cocker. I was especially looking for that after recent open-heart surgery and a new zipper in my chest. Very accurate and likes most ammos. A bit loud but mostly just authoratative. I didn't like the appearance (shape is very nice and comfortable) so I disassembled it and refinished it with a coat of Tung Oil.Looks really special now, nice thumbhole. For the price, it is a great "paper" gun and well worth it.
Things I Would Have ChangedRefinish the stock. I did!
Easy for us old folks to load. Accurate.
Things I Would Have ChangedMounts on the scope, need 2 screwdrivers..

I didn't know I was buying a "lower velocity" version of a rifle that cost the SAME AMOUNT of money. After kicking myself for not paying closer attention, I decided to see what I had bought. After changing to a 3x9-32mm Centerpoint, groups run as follows:(Premier Hollowpoint 15.3)-30yds.-1.5in., 45yds.-1in., 60yds.-2in.. (H&N Crow Magnum 18.21)-30yds.-.5in., 45yds.-1in., 60yds.-2.25in. I take Arizona squirel at 60yds. often with the Premier Hollowpoints, I just ordered the Crow Magnums, I plan on using them on jackrabbits under 50yds
Things I Would Have ChangedTrigger pull is terrible. 4x32 scope.
What Others Should KnowWith heavier pellets, accuracy drops off around 55 or 60yd s. At 70yds. Crow Magnums were all over the target (6x8). Even though the GP is a good deal for the money, I plan on buying a Trail NP XL within the next 6 weeks,(I hope my wife doesn;t read this.) I will let you know if my decision is a good one. GOOD SHOOTIN.
