| Developed specifically for the Canadian Cadets, the Avanti 853 Legend EX uses a 5-shot clip with auto-indexing and shoots 20 fps slower than the standard 853 Legend. The classic NRA Junior competition rifle! Ideal for shooters 16 and up (with adult supervision) to learn to shoot in 10-meter competition. Daisy's Avanti 853 Legend EX has a sporter hardwood stock that's capped with a removable buttpad to allow for the included insert spacers to adjust the length of pull for the shooter's size. Most impressive is the crowned Lothar Walther barrel. It's precision-bored for .177 match pellets, has 12 lands and grooves, and a right-hand twist. The front sight has interchangeable aperture inserts, and the rear sight is micrometer adjustable. The included sling will also help the shooter steady the rifle. The 853 Legend EX is so accurate that most shooters will not outgrow the rifle's potential. Although official competition rules do not allow scopes, the rifle has a dovetail scope mount in the diecast receiver in the event you want to use this rifle for shooting other targets or just for fun. Things I would have changed:The power. I mean I know this is only a target rifle, but my self restarting targets won't stay up! Sight was decent, but I would recommend buying a better one. Also I would like it if Daisy would put a metal trigger, guard and pumping lever. What others should know:Buy this only for paper target shooting. Don't even think about hunting with this either.
Things I would have changed:When the guns are laid with the action open & up ,the soft pellet clip gets pushed back into the action.
Things I would have changed:I like a lighter trigger weight for competition and precision, but having it be heavier is nice for target shooting outside. What others should know:I shot competitively for 4 years with JROTC. I always used $1000+ CO2 powered rifles during those times. This gun can't compete for ease of repeat precision, but it's great for practice on the basics. Plus it's light for it's level of acuracy, which is great for standing outside target shooting. I've had it for nearly 9 years with very minimal maintenence. Still looks and works like new.
