The Maruzen Walther P99 is a state of the art approach in evolutional technology as an airsoft sports gun.
This pistol was specifically designed to meet the latest requirement. It's design incorporates to the requirements of practical us.
Sight: The P99 features a windage adjustable micrometer rear sight, with contrast marking.
Grip Backstrap: Accuracy in firing a handgun depends upon a proper grip and proper position on the shooting hand. The P99 is the first handgun designed for grip backstraps size adjustment to fit the individual user.
Magazine Catch: The Magazine catch is designed to fit the contours of the grip. While easily operable by either the thumb or trigger finger, without loss of the handling. The magazine catch is designed to minimize the mistake.
One of the unique features of this gun is its double-action trigger that has long progressive-type trigger pull that makes accidental discharge almost impossible. Maruzen collaborated with German firearm manufacturer Walther in their earlier gas blowback P99 production and were supplied with exact blueprints of P99 to facilitate design of well-made replica airsoft gun Materials: Frame and grip glass fiber, slide ABS plastic. Magazine, shell ejection port, torch switches and torch from metal.
Muzzle velocity of Maruzen P99 is very high thanks to the big bore gas valve in magazines. This allows the gun to fire in excess of 330 ft/sec with Green Gas/0.20g BBs The P99 Blow Back airsoft pistol. This comfortable, and sturdy gun is an air soft favorite. Featured in several movies with James Bond, the P99 is admired for its realistic look and feel.

The slide rattles, and there is play between the inner and outer barrels. Also, this is not the Maruzen P99 so positively reviewed elsewhere on the web; this version has a flimsy plastic outer barrel and chamber, with no marking on part of the chamber visible through the ejection port when the slide is in battery. Other versions have the trademark and "9mmx19" stamped on this part. The guide rod is plastic, too, which was really surprising, and the recoil spring seems weak – slide sticks about a half inch from the front of the frame on occasion when racking manually. What others should know:Overall, a nice gun, shoots decently, but build quality of the slide and barrel disappointing. This appears to be an export-only version and is distributed by Umarez USA (the manual is in English). A metal outer barrel upgrade would be great, but parts are impossible to find now. A metal slide would be great, but same problem with availability, and you'd need to install a heavier recoil and hammer spring, and possibly use only green gas to get the heavier slide to cycle properly.

Things I would have changed:ABS Plastic Slide - its a joke. If it was metal I would consider this one of the nicest GBB replicas ive ever held. FYI - Metal slides are almost impossible to come by so dont think this will be an easy upgrade. If you do find one, its going to cost about what the pistol cost after shipping and might not even have the walther trademarks.
Plastic outer barrel and guide rod. This I dont understand as the some of the older ones had metal ones. Maruzen, what is that all about? And why is this not based on the newer P99 without ski-hump trigger guard and weaver rail. Too much play between outer and inner barrel that sometimes causes jams during blowback cycle. What others should know:If you want a P99 just to collect and shoot from time to time, get it as you'll love it. If you want a skrim viable pistol, don't.
I gave 1 star for value because it is way overpriced considering the lack of metal parts and its durability, but alas, its like the only p99 GBB on the market....

If you zero in on the hop-up until it is just right, you will be able to hit a soda can at 40-50 ft. I like the size and shape of the gun. It has a awesome look and is a great replica of the real thing. Things I would have changed:Adjusting the hop up is a SERIOUS annoyance. But do not adjust it hastily. If you take your time you will be able to get a .20 gram bb to travel far and accurate. I would definetly change the slide of the gun. It is a thin plastic material that is not as strong as the grip. When you compare the slide plastic to the ABS, the slide looks a piece of junk. I would also make the trigger full metal. It is a strong abs, but metal feels, sounds, and works a lot better. What others should know:I have upgrade my P99 with all metal parts except the grip, which is supposed to be ABS anyway. The top slide of my gun is all metal and it has a sweet mock silencer on it to. Upgrade your P99 with metal parts, and you will love it to death! My gun makes a great sound as the blowback cycles. Unfortunetly, all the upgrades I have made to it were pretty expensive..... Even if you do not plan on dishing out a couple hundred bucks on upgrades, get this gun anyway. You WILL NOT regret it. I also recommend using .20 gram BB's and green gas (also known as HFC 22 gas). YOu should also consider buying some spare magazines, even though they are a bit on the pricey side.

Things I would have changed:Accuracy out of the box is not quite on par with other pistols in this price range (price range being key, the accuracy isn't bad, just not great), though there are substantial after-market upgrades available which will make this gun entirely usable as a skirmish primary. With just a metal outer barrel, precision inner barrel, and some simple custom adjustments in the fit of the internal parts it can consistently hit a 2-liter bottle at about 75ft. What others should know:This is a great and unique airsoft pistol. The look and feel is amazing, it's far more quick and point-able than anything else I own (mostly because it's so small and light) and with propane a viable option and a choice of standard or extended 40-round magazines available this makes a good choice as a cqb or skirmish sidearm.

Things I would have changed:plan to give it a metal slide and thats about it. What others should know:this gun can challenge any other on the skirmish feild or t the target range.
