*If you don't use illumination, the reticle will be black.

This scope has an etched-glass reticle, which is superior to a wire reticle because it's much more precise. That lets you get even more accuracy from your gun. Another way that etched-glass reticles are superior to wire reticles is when they're illuminated. The etched ones show the illumination only on the reticle. It looks like the reticle is floating. Wire reticles often have a reflection of the illumination in the objective lens, which can be distracting when shooting.

From the superior glass to the SR Pro reticle, you'll home in on your target or quarry while others continue to fiddle with finicky, substandard scopes. Because of the robust build of your Hawke scope, you can use it on any airgun or firearm…even those that heavily recoil. Beware: Once you buy a Hawke scope, all your other scopes will fall short. It's a casualty of finally getting the best.

Hawke Sport Optics has a faithful international following of shooters who prize clear, sharp optics. You've spent a good bit of money getting the most accurate gun and ammo you can afford, and optical glass is no place to start economizing. Get the most from your gun by demanding that you get the most from your scope. Do you want the best? Buy this scope!

Things I liked: This is a top quality scope. The 8-32 power let's you make those long distance shots. The SRPro reticle gives plenty of holdover points.

Things I would have changed: Nothing

What others should know: You get what you pay for.

Things I liked: High magnification and the ease with which it is to quickly focus on the correct aimpoint. On my gun, each line is zeroed with about 6 yrds between them. Makes it easy to figure your holdover.

Things I would have changed: Glass that remains clear all the way to its highest setting.

What others should know: Clarity drops off above 24 magnification. But I would still buy another simply because no one else has anything better in this price range.

Things I liked: Sorry if this is a double post - the site gave an error! The bell cover even works with the sunshade. The docs say it doesn't but there is a thread there to secure it. Just don't go overboard! This scope is very accurate and a bit heavy but is perfect for the job. The SR reticle take a bit of getting used to but with the free software you can zero it out to 100yards showing good groups depending on the rifle. Clarity is good up to 24X but further than that and it is a bit gloomy. I usually use 10X to 24X anyway. Loving the IR - it has one center cross which lights up - perfect for low light conditions and iffy backgrounds on your target.

Things I would have changed: Better instructions for the larger side wheel installation - by the time I read it I already had it on the parallax knob. The yardage marker accessor should have been tipped in white. Sometime you really have to focus to see the suggested range or maybe my eyes are getting too old. I may touch it up with whiteout or cut a credit card to fabric a pointer as others have done. Also the box is nice but unnecessary unless you want to store it for a longer period.

What others should know: It's is a heavy scope but bearable. If you are going to carry your rifle you may want a smaller fixed scope - this will get tiring and susecptible to branches and rocks if you take it in the woods but it does have a sturdy shell. It's perfect for bench rest shooting and general plinking. I already scratched the sun shade by dropping the thing - I'll camo cover it or signature the thing at some point - I'm just glad it was only the sunshade and it is such a small ding - but I see it!!

  • jeff from USA asked:

been through a few scopes with an umarex octane. ya think this glass can hold up to the destructive double recoil?

    • Franklin from USA asked:

Anyone use this scope for FT ? How good is ranging out to 55 yds.?

      • Tyler from USA:

Franklin They do okay. Past 45 yards, they are not going to be as good as the higher end scopes. Realistically, with the stock wheel, you can get good solid marks every 3-5 yards after 40 yards. At least that was the case for me. Your mileage may vary, depending on your eyes.
