Things I liked:Just bought the NPSS 1.77 calliber a few days ago and man am I impressed. The rifle looks and feels as good as it shoots. Got less than dime size groups at 25 yards and its not even broke in yet. First thing I noticed was the reduced noise and recoil comparred to the springers. It also has an excellent trigger and is balanced well. I've been shooting BB guns and air rifles for 40 years {forgot to grow up} and this rifle has by far been the best I've shot. No doubt the gas piston is going to change the air rifle industry and Crosman is certainly doing an excellent job. Cant wait to get it in the woods.
    Things I would have changed:Nothing
What others should know:Be sure to get the mounts on securely and using the stop which is hid inside the one -piece mount. Stay mid-range or heavier on your pellet grain size for tighter groupings. I'm going to stay 7.9 gns or heavier. I would certainly recomend buying one of these rifles.

    Things I liked:Quiet
Things I would have changed:workmanship of the carbon fiber is below what I would expect from this rifle compared to the Benjamin trail. I would have preffered to receive rifle without a scratch, which is what I received. Not Pyramids fault, packaging was superb, but bad reflection on manufacturer.
What others should know:I expected a lot more from this rifle. I thought I was upgrading from my Benjamin Trail NP (made in China) to the NPSS (made in USA), but what I received was substandard plastic parts flaking with imperfections on the edges and a break barrel that grinds when you cock it. I ordered the Camo and it looks a little better, but not a shooter out of the box by any means. Still grinds and will require sending to a prof. tuner to make this a rifle worth shooting.

Things I liked:The NPSS seems to be a really well made rifle that feels solid. I found the operation to be very easy to use. The one piece scope mount was nice, and the scope has a quality appearance. I wouldn't call it the more accurate rifle I've shot, but focus on a single pellet type and stick with it. My decision was that I'm betting that the Nitro Piston aspect of the rifle will reduce future maintenance expense for me, thus making it the better long term choice.
What others should know:One thing that is disturbing for me is that about every 20th or so shot the rifle would not pump, like there was no catch mechanism grabbing. wiggle the exposed pump levers and all is back to normal. Seems to occur more when you're shooting a lot of shots through.

Things I liked:Really is fun to shoot. Smooth to cock, and really is not that loud. The scope is very clear and mounts well.
Things I would have changed:Trigger is a tad heavy, but livable.
What others should know:The break-in period isn't the most fun. There was some grinding when cocking it for a little while, but it has seemed to go away after a week. It was by no means consistent grinding either.

Things I liked:I was looking forward to my first nitro piston... for all the reasons associated with a gas piston in place of a metal spring. The gun cocks nicely... smooth and not difficult. Sound level is good too... not very loud. However...
Things I would have changed:I had to send the rifle back. The stock was well below what I can call acceptable quality. "Synthetic" (meaning Plastic) was a disappointment. It had rough edges with molding burrs, and had a cheap look and feel. I had read that it had a lousy trigger before buying it, and yes, it does. Very heavy, and unpredictable.
What others should know:I sent the gun back, exchanged for the Benjamin Trail NP hardwood. It's the same nitro setup by Crosman, much nicer stock, and slightly cheaper. Same lousy trigger, but I can use the savings to buy a nice replacement trigger. Pyramid Air was great to work with re/ the return.

Things I liked:I bought this gun when it was named crosman npss the same thing though. This gun is super quiet and accurate with a nice velocity. Some times when I kill one animal if there is others right by they stay. mine produces nice groups with H&N baracuda match pelets.
Things I would have changed:I would like it to be a little lighter and mabey a ajustable but pad.

Things I liked:It looks pretty cool, it's very easy to cock. Breaking the barrel doesn't require a slap---you can do it with ease sitting down. Just take hold and pull down. The accuracy is ok. Comes with a nice centerpoint scope.
Things I would have changed:It's short. The stock is just too small, and it made the gun feel like it should be front heavy, although it really wasn't. CPHP pellets were very difficult to load. They required a hard push which resulted in very sore fingertips. The coating on the gun seems like it can peel up.
What others should know:Mine started to grind and catch while cocking it somewhere around the 350 pellet mark. I sent it back and bought a Trail NPXL instead. I'm WAY happier with it.

Things I liked:The carbon fiber finish. It is extremely accurate from the first shot. The telescope that came with the rifle is also of a good quality. No problem with the two stage trigger. Noice is acceptable, much better than other spring rifles with the same power.
Things I would have changed:It is heavy.
What others should know:Before doing my first shot, I took the time to clean the barrel, it was very dirty. The first shot was loud. Cocking for that first shot required a lot of pressure but after that it is easying. The telescope took about five shots to adjust. I am very pleased with my Remington NPSS.

Things I liked:I'm pretty laid back, I "liked" just about everything with this Remington. It is very simple to use. The cocking mechanism is crisp, as well as the trigger. Very quiet, with the correct pellet.I got a .177 calibre.
Things I would have changed:I hadn't shot an air gun for about 35 years, excuse me 45 years. This and the Crosman All Weather NP Trail (.22) are awesome. Length of the butt/stock could be a little longer, but that would change the balance point. As with all people spending recreation money, it could be less costly...
What others should know:Keep plinking! Learn which pellets work best with which ever gun you have to shoot. After about 3000 rounds it will make a difference.

Things I liked:Fit, feel of the gun are great. Good lines. Scope and mounting system are solid, quality items. The cocking is easier than I anticipated. I ordered the .22 cal and it has some power! Scope is clear and bright, easy access to adjustments. I am happy with selecting this rifle. Good advice also from Rick, whom I chatted with a couple of times on comparison of rifles and also watched the videos. Pyramid was very easy to work with. I chose not to get the 10 for $10.
Things I would have changed:Although I was able to make a good adjustment on the trigger, the first stage is a bit to long for my liking. A good fully adjustable trigger would really fine tune this rifle. Offer it in camo other than digital - really to techy for me. I got black.
What others should know:I would recommend this rifel. I rated the accuracy 3 because I am not sure yet what will happen with it. I've read about and it seems to be proving true, that this rifle, and others like it, need to have a good volume of shots fired before it settles in. I have gotten some really tight groups but it has been inconsistent, so I can't say good or bad on this point yet.

Things I liked:The feel, balance, look, smoothness of cocking. The accuracy is very good, testing showed that JSB Exacts shoot 1" groups at 30 yards. This is before I did any tuning. I'm sure that it could be better with someone else behind the trigger. Sounds loud next to gun while shooting, however, stand back 15' and it is fairly quiet for a break barrel. The inside and outside show very good quality. This is a nice package. Since I don’t own a chrony, I estimated by using Hawke Chair Gun software that the JSB shoot around 900 fps and the Benjamin 10.5 grain shot around 807 fps. I really like this gun.
Things I would have changed:That they use more blue locktight for the trigger adjustment screw as it moves around and the trigger becomes very light. More lube on the Nitro Piston and the actual piston itself. I would not have taken it apart if not for the grinding. It might have gone away as it seem to be happening less after around 300 pellets.
What others should know:1st once received, breech rubbed against stock causing scratches in metal. RMA, next one received, still rubbed at end of stroke, ended up using dremel to sand of .15" off inside slot (fixed it). Noticed grinding noise that would come and go while cocking. Liked how it shot, so I gave it a tune. Discovered that the piston was galling the top inside of piston tube. The area the piston seal slides in was perfect. The rest of the insides were good. Polished the area to remove galling, lubed with molly and then reassembled. Now that it has been tuned, it is very nice. I like the trigger (after adjustment). I like everything about it now.
