Starting 7/1/15 my state's laws are changing to allow the purchase of suppressed airguns and air SBR's without a form 4, and it will also allow air pistols to be purchased over the internet. I think the p-rod will be my first one. I want to scope mine and hate using high mounted scopes on guns with a low comb, so I was looking for some custom wood stocks. There are some really nice ones out there but it seems like no one is making them anymore. If you want higher comb, then the most common way to go is with an AR stock adapter and an AR stock with riser. I've seen pictures and they look like hell. It wouldn't be so bad if someone made a stock, grip, and forend that all matched, but no one seems to be doing that at the moment. I wouldn't mind the Crosman stock if they made a riser for it. What interested me even more was the huge amount of custom parts available for the p-rod. I know that other Crosman guns had a strong following in the custom market but people are making so much stuff for the Marauder line that you could probably build one without using a single Crosman part.

Paul, you have done reviews on now both this pistol and the AA Pro Sport. The sound testing seems off. I own the Marauder pistol and just receive my Pro Sport which you sound tested at about 88 db which is less than the Marauder. The Pro Sport is much louder.. Just my thoughts.

Ive had my P-Rod for 2 years now and it just gets better all the time.Mine is the first dbl air tube P-rod that Lloyd made using mine as a test design. With the dbl tubes and 3k cap she shoots very well and several times more then the single tube now.Awesome little pistol!

I have always been a fan of your reviews and input. Would you pick a $90 benjamin titan over a ruger Blackhawk, crosman vantage, or a stoeger xs12?

I picked up my Marauder Pistol a month ago and I love it. None of the local pests area safe! I'm using RWS Superpoint Extra pellets, which turned out to be the most accurate for me. I do agree the shoulder stock leaves something to be desired. I opted for an AR-15 style stock adapter from Marmot Militia, and it works great.

Thu Oct 03 09:58:37 EDT 2013

The Marauder Pistol has a much shorter barrel obviously than the Marauder rifle (which received 85dB in my test, indoors) and this can be why its louder than say the ProSport. The Marauder Pistol seemed to me to have a higher frequency "SNAP" from the blast of air from the muzzle. The Pro Sport's report is more of a dull thud, with much less air behind the pellet.

I think that you forgot to mention how leight weight it is. That is one of the key advantages that it has over the rifle. Also as you have noticed the rotary magazine is larger than the one of the rifle and it accepts large pellets even the size of predator polymags. In fact the whole concept of this pistol was buil around small game hunting and the polymags played a key role here and should shoot very well.

That is a very nice & accurate pistol, sadly in the UK, any air pistol over 6ft/lbs is classed as a prohibited weapon, rules eh!!

I know there are two adjustments, 1 for hammer spring preload, and one for hammer stroke. How do you go about tuning for optimum performance, using these two adjustments? Is there a video on this somewhere? I've got a Chrony coming soon, so I'll be ready to try this with my Marauder rifle. Nice review, by the way. The pistol is next on my list!
