If ever there was a classic American air pistol, it would be this gun. The Crosman 1377C is a powerful multi-pump pneumaticSomething that works on air pressure.
that's been enjoyed by millions of shooters for decades.
One of the reasons it's so popular is that it delivers a real wallop, spitting pellets out the muzzleThe end of a barrel where the pellet comes out.

(with 10 pumps). This pistol is suitable for plinking, popping paper targets, hitting spinners and killing tin cans.
This pistol comes with a blade front sight and a fully adjustable rear. You can mount a pistol scope or a red dot on it, but you'll need the 459MT intermount. Things I liked:I am very impressed by the accuracy. I sighted it in at 25 yards on the local range, and it grouped as well or better than my .22/45 Ruger. With the current shortages of ammunition, at least .177 pellets aren't scarce. I might wind up shooting 10 meter air.

Years ago, I had a Hy-Score 800. That was good, but the Crosman is even better. I'll admit that the .22 pellets and the camera iris type breech on the Hy-Score made loading with my big, fat fingers a little easier, but I'm getting the hang of flipping the .177's into the gate in the right direction.
Things I would have changed:I ordered the rails and Crosman red dot at the same time. The iron sights are fine, but I was really impressed by the red dot for the price. It obviously isn't as sturdy as the other red dots I have that are meant to withstand significant recoil, but it was easy to zero, and held the zero well. Again, becoming proficient with red dot optics is a lot cheaper when 1000 rounds leaves enough change from a $20 bill to buy lunch.
I may do some of the after market mods, not so much as it needs them as that I like to fiddle around with things.

Things I would have changed:Fatten the pump handle, and maybe put some grooves or a ring to hold on to when you pump it. I had one of these in the 90's and it pinched my hand when pumping then, and is still doing it now. You have to be careful when pumping, and multiple shots brings fatigue.
What others should know:For the price, this is one good gun. I have owned two of them, This gun is so powerful, squirrels in your back yard will think they are in IRAQ and your a sniper. Some call it a great beginners gun, hell, this is good for even skilled users. just be careful of the pump handle and always keep it oiled.

What others should know:This gun has a great feel. It is well made and just feels solid. Although it may take longer to shoot than C02 pistols, it is more fun for me because of the accuracy, power, and cost. It is a great plinking pistol and it very accurate when shot from a bench. I set up a GAMO target in my indoor range, and from about 10 yards I put around 20 pellets through a hole the size of a nickel. This pistol isn't pelet finicky, it like all the good quality pellets I have shot through it. I very higly reccomend this gun.

Things I would have changed:The rear sight is too high. You can't get it adjusted low enough. I can live with the plastic, IF it is useable. Mine will have to be modified to be useable. I ordered and installed the steel breech, part #1377SBPK, and put a red dot on instead.
What others should know:The stock breech and rear sight are plastic, and would have been fine, except mine was rotated about 4 degrees to the left of plumb, and too high. Looks like crap, but still groups well. I had to slide the rear sight as far right as possible and pull the front blade down into the rear notch for sight picture, in order to compensate. I finally shimmed up the left side of the tube and retightened screws to plumb it up. The optional steel breech, while expensive, is high qualifty and grooved to accept red dot or scope rings. The trigger pull can EASILY be lessened by removing the plastic grips and replacing the stiff trigger spring with a softer one from ACE Hardware. I got this idea from another review, and it WORKS.

What others should know:Great quality and unbeatable power for a pump-type air pistol, especially for this low of a price. Very rugged design, not afraid it's going to break when I go camping. At 25 feet with ten pumps, normal weight Premier hollow tips stick a couple milimeters into particle board! Thumb groove on grip is a nice touch also, making for a more secure grip while shooting. Very nice pistol and great price.

Things I would have changed:Plastic grips are slippery and I'd love to have a wider pump handle, but these are easy fixes (rbgrips.net). Trigger shape is a bit narrow for me -- I need to order the trigger shoe from Crosman. Trigger pull was fairly hearvy at first but I did a little trigger spring compression and it's very nice and smooth now. Had a problem with the rear sight adjusting low enough for 10m but I compensated by using fewer pumps. At 15m, sights were perfect out of the box.
What others should know:Crosman Premiere Hollow Points work well, very accurate.
Gamo Match are also excellent. I can feel that they have a tighter fit when I load. These hit a bit harder (judging by the holes in my cans). At 5 pumps and under, the CPHPs make a dent whereas the Gamo Match make a hole.
I'm using the Plano DOUBLE pistol case, fits perfectly with room for a couple of tins of pellets.

Things I liked:Pumping effort isn't too bad. Shoots hole to dime size groups at 10 yards with CPL's. Barrel does not rotate, even after scoping... possibly a recent design change from crosman. Plenty of aftermarket parts and upgrades available.
Things I would have changed:The breech does not cleanly mate with the barrel, resulting in a hard time pushing the bolt to load certain pellets, causing it to possibly deform/scratch the pellets. There is also a screw hole inside the breech that further complicates pellet loading. The pumping arm is too small, resulting in anyone but a child to be at risk of clipping fingers. Factory iron sights could use improvement, they are simply "loosen the screw, slide around, and hope you're on point" adjustable.
Luckily, all of these shortcomings are fixable with aftermarket parts.
What others should know:Great gun for $50 range. The gun prefers CPL's as far as I can see. For a very helpful DIY trigger upgrade, take off the pistol grips and remove the spring. You will notice there is alot of resistance. Then compress the coils of the spring with a set of pliers until it just fits into the gun perfectly without rattling about. This will greatly lighten and improve the trigger feel.
For basic upgrades, I highly recommend buying the 1399 stock, 1389 larger pumping arm, and a steel breech. All of which are available from crosman if you call them. The stock is actually also available from Pyramidair. With plenty of aftermarket parts available, this gun won't get old.

Things I would have changed:Plastic receiver and sights (upgrades are available direct from Crosman or from 3rd party retailers). Stamped metal trigger and sear. Plastic grips and forearm.
What others should know:It's good right out of the box, but to really make it sing, get a steel breech and longer bolt probe. My favorite mod (super easy) is to put a .22 barrel in (requires a different bolt, but everything else works as is).
Polish the contact points on the trigger and sear, and replace the too-too strong trigger spring with something lighter from the hardware store and accuracy and enjoyment go way up.
Great gun to practice modifications on, good introduction to airguns, period.

Things I liked:Very accurate & powerful.
Things I would have changed:too much plastic - very front heavy. The trigger is sharp and uncomfortable.
What others should know:Get the stock (1399) and a shoe trigger (I got mine direct from Crosman)
and it makes a world of difference :o)

Things I liked:Cheap, but very good quality. Affordable for a high powered pellet pistol, you wont find a more powerful, ACCURATE fully mod capable pistol for the price. Aside from plastic parts, which u can mod out, this gun is bombproof, an important feature as i am pretty rough on all my favorite tools. It can either be a starter or an expert modders dream and again accuracy is impeccable. I own 2 of these guns, both modded very differently
Things I would have changed:For the money? Not a thing. Things I have already changed: long steel breech with steel bolt, trigger shoe, I compressed the trigger spring in handle to lighten up trigger pull which comes out a hair above 2lbs ( i may actually find a smaller wire gauge spring to see if i can lighten up to bout 90g), polished all metal parts of trigger set up to remove burs and smooth out the action, williams peep, 24" barrel with muzzle compensator, custom cocobolo skeleton rifle stock with weight in pistol grip and matching pump handle. what started as a $60 pistol is now worth well over $300 and shoots like dream. My other one is modded but not as noteworhy.
What others should know:If u dont want to mega mod ur gun at least purchase the steel breech. The breech has a barrel set screw that the plastic breech does not have. I noticed an increase in velocity (nuttin' spectacular but at least you are using the air more efficiently) probably due to the set screw forcing a tight seal over the steel sleeve that connects the barrel to your air. When dismantling and you take your safety out, there is a small ball bearing between the spring and safety..dont lose it if you want your safety to work. Compress your trigger spring located in handle just pull it down and out. Dont worry you wont hurt it if you compress too far, just pull it out, but this little trick will lighten up trigger and help make you a better shot. Use a gunsmiths screwdriver set, serious dont ruin your guns screws with a generic screwdriver.

Things I would have changed:I took a thin round file and grooved the top of the front blade sight. Then I took some Truglo green optical fiber and glued it into the groove and made the front sight much more visible in lower light conditions.
I would have made the grip a little heavier just to balance out the weight of the long barrel. I took off the grips and noticed there were chambers inside. I'm thinking of melting down some of the spent pellets and filling the chambers with lead to do just that.
What others should know:Certain pellets don't feed as easily as others. Don't force the pellets into the chamber because this will warp the pellets and cause it to not shoot straight. You have to jiggle the bolt gently in order to get the pellet into the chamber straight and without warping.

What others should know:I love this air pistol. I have single handedly exterminated a giant rat population that plague my backyard shed with most kills at the 25+ yrd range. The accuracy is dead on, I've own this gun for 10 yrs and have shot over 5,000 rounds thru it. I have not experienced any problems. The value for the money is good, allowing you to customize to your shooting needs. Trigger pull is decent and there is very little to no shot kick (recoil). I have 5 air arms wich include 2 adult magnum air rifles, and the Crosman 1377c is the one I shoot the most. I have an ultimate breech and 12 inch barrel combo that I got from Crooked Barn. I also have the crosman custom stock, 16 hole muzzle brake, and a Tasco 3-9x30 scope. Good beginers also for the veteran air arms enthusiasts.

First the good: Great value and very good accuracy. The barrel is over 10" long which gives it good velocity and a pretty consistent trajectory.
Things I would have changed:Given the price, it's pretty hard to complain. However, the stock sights aren't great and there isn't a good way to mount an aftermarket sight to it. I tried the 459MT to put a red dot sight on it, but with the plastic breech, the barrel rotates slightly from side to side constantly throwing off the settings. The counter sinking on the crown of the barrel was off center.
What others should know:The steel breech from Crosman is pretty much a must-have if you want to do any serious shooting. The breech doesn't really provide any improvement in accuracy since it's quite accurate already. The steel breech provides a solid mounting platform for a sight and also has a set screw to keep the barrel from moving. I got the steel breech, the shoulder stock and a 4x rifle scope (a total of ~$65 in upgrades) making this into a mini-rifle and it is pretty much dead on.

Things I would have changed:Some white dots on the back of the sights to make it easier to line up when the lighting is lower; make the pump lever grip wider to make it easier to grab while pumping
What others should know:It is not the perfect gun and could use a few improvements like I mentioned above, but for the price you just can't complain about the performance value this gun delivers.

Things I would have changed:Trigger and sear assembly are stamped brass/steel, receiver is not precision engineered, springs are way too strong. Crosman gave up trying to improve quality years ago, now they just crank everything out. If they could reproduce the rolling sear/trigger style that they employed in the 160/180 rifles during the 60's, that would be great!
What others should know:Wood parts to spice up yours are readily availabe (just type "Crosman wood grips 1377" into your search engine).
Crosman sells steel breeches (with scope grooves cut into them) and better quality barrels, if you want to spruce it up.

What others should know:Most bang for the buck, certainly. Three pumps are enough for plinking, 7 to 10 pumps give you more power but will let you shoot much less frequently. If you want a top single-stroke PCP, shell out $250 more and get a Baikal IZH-46M.

Things I liked:easy to use, good accuracy at 30 feet with stock sights, durable.
Things I would have changed:wood parts replacement for plastic parts (grip, forearm), lighter/crisper trigger pull, the metal parts should be treated somehow because they are all rusting on mines, except the brass parts and the grip frame.

What others should know:very good gun for the price, does leave some to be desired but its easily modified. use some oil for the rust problem, it mainly stems from the salt resulting from your skin/sweat. used this with crosman hunting pellets, this thing penetrated 1/4th inch of wood at 35Ft!!!(10 pumps)
