How Did You Get Here?
Have you ever driven from point A to point B and had someone ask you, what way did you take to get here? Did you follow highway 17 onto Branch Rd, then pass the blue house on the right or did you go the long way? The only answer you have is uh…I don’t know.
Because the GPS almost does it for you right and we’re okay with that! Do you know many people that prefer the old school method? I don’t know many either.
If you’re one who likes that kind of technology, (might I add, most do), Garmin has taken it a step further. The Garmin Xero A1i Bow Sight is a bow sight that when someone asks you how the arrow got there, you’ll say Uh…I don’t know, because Garmin did it for me.
I hear you right now and yes, that’s ridiculous! Well I’ll admit it, it is, I’m just poking a little fun at technology and the people that use it, everybody! You want to know more about the Xero A1i Bow Sight, then let’s get on with it!
Garmin Says
Garmin says, “There’s No Other Bow Sight Like It” Let’s find out why that is! It has this feature called Auto-ranging. It has a digital bow sight that automatically measures distance to the target. No worries, you don’t need to figure out where to place the sight pin. Its LED pin is placed perfectly for you, or whoever’s shooting.
- Its Dual-color LED pins allow you to clearly see your target, unobstructed by physical pins.
- The silent single-button trigger requires minimal movement; we all know that’s going to give you the advantage.
- It also lets you range at rest or full draw up to 100 yards for hunting or up to 300 yards target shooting. It not only ranges distance but angles as well.
- You choose from single-pin and multi-pin configurations or a manual pin selection.
- This is pretty cool and you don’t even have to know how you got there, the GPS device will get you back out! It has a laser locate feature that enables use of a compatible Garmin GPS device to know exactly where the target was located when you shot it.
Batteries?
So it’s digital, that means it runs on some sort of battery right? Such a bummer, because we hate batteries! Not this time, this has a one year of battery life with 2 lithium AAA batteries. You won’t have to stock up on batteries and change them every time you go out and that’s a relief.
No need for multiple devices or components this is an all-in-one design. Xero bow sights mount directly to your bow, no need to fumble with a separate range finder or guess which pin to use. It almost does everything for you except release your arrow.

What Doesn’t It Do?
The LED Pins also automatically adjust brightness for the lighting and gives you two color options, red or green. really my question is what does it not do?
- Fry bacon
- Make coffee
- Sing you a lullaby
- Make your bed
New School or Old School?
Here are a couple more things you can expect from this sight. You can load multiple arrow profiles, save settings for different draw weights, arrows, and tips. This feature makes it easy to change from a hunter to a target shooter. It also stores data that will help improve an archer’s performance. Wow, then someone asks you, you had it sighted in at forty yards, how did you make that perfect shot at 150? It’s okay, you don’t have to say, “Uh…I don’t know.” You can say Garmin did it.
If you’d prefer to say you did it, then feel free to stick with a sight like the T.R.U Ball Axcel Landslyde Carbon Pro. You can do the same thing, it’ll just require a bit more of you, is that okay?
