The Middle of Somewhere
“We all start somewhere” that statement has so much truth in it, much like, “In the middle of somewhere”. Think about it, nowhere is a place that doesn’t exist, when someone says “I’m in the middle of nowhere”, or “I started from nothing”. REALLY! How true are those statements? I’ll stick with the truth because we all start somewhere and I don’t care where anyone stands at any moment, everyone is somewhere.
Say you started with a slingshot like the Marksman 3075 Pocket Hunter Folding Slingshot, and in my opinion, that’s the perfect tool to start with. The Marksman isn’t any ole slingshot, it’s purposed for pesting and small game.
Of Course It Does!
Why is it a perfect tool for a start in archery? It’s extremely inexpensive, it shoots standard arrows, and requires a consistent and proper form for consistent accuracy and performance. Sound familiar? Of course it does Archer!
The Marksman is fit for comfort all around. The finger grooves on the grip create a perfect hold for the shooter to enjoy for hours on end. Grip, load, draw, release, repeat!
The slingshot has a wrist brace that holds the shooter’s arm steady for better accuracy and stability. It doesn’t absorb a hunters’ shakes from excitement when you see those long ears in the line of sight. What’s that even called, bunny buck fever? I can hear you laughing now, it’s real my friend, it’s real!

Because it has a removable arrow guide, you can also use regular slingshot ammo like the 3’8” Steel Shot for target shooting, pesting, or small game hunting. Pick your poison or the intended target’s demise. The ability to sling a ball or a shaft makes it a dual functioning apparatus, which means as long as you have ammo, you’re in business!
Bam or Swoosh!
Check out the unique paracord attached to the pouch. When the arrow is nocked, and you pull the paracord back, the pouch closes in around the nock. Next release using fingers or a release and bam or swoosh, whatever sound it makes in your mind, goes the Marksman Pocket Hunter 31” Arrows!
What about power output? Accuracy and penetration will only be accomplished with adequate energy. With forty-two pounds of pull or “draw weight”, it produces 115 fps. Be realistic, this is not a long distance killer but, in small game language, this will make a silent but deadly short range pocket arrow or shot slinger.
No Need To Graduate!
This little fella fills many niches; novices, pros, survivalists, or someone just looking for some target knock down fun! Even if this is what you started with, don’t take me wrong, I’m not in any way saying you have to graduate to the “next” step. Enjoy it as long as you do, in fact buy one for a friend and share the sport with them as well! Backyard target shooting is always more fun with a little competition!
Do me a favor, if your friend becomes a better shot than you, don’t hold it against them. Don’t be a bully, and threaten to trade slingshots or take theirs back, I’m the bully, not you! Enjoy the sport and hey someone very wise once said, “Don’t Be A Jerk! Share the Sport!”
