If you read the last blog, (you did right?), then you would know that I have ordered the Killer Instinct SWAT X1 Crossbow and you have an idea of what I’ve been doing while I wait. You know how it goes, the excitement builds, the closer it gets to the arrival of your gift to yourself. Maybe you go back to the website a few times to take another look and remind yourself of what it comes with, and decide whether or not you should add anything else to your cart.
Included With the Package
The Killer Instinct SWAT X1 Crossbow comes with Rail Lube, three HYPR 390 grain bolts with field tips, a three bolt quiver, Quick Draw Rope cocker, a compact silent crank, and a Lumix Speedring 1.5-5X32 IR-E Scope. After reminding myself of all that’s included, curiosity sets in. Will the included optic be satisfactory?
I just found another way to kill time while I wait, research. Search bar here I come, “Lumix Speedring 1.5-5X32 IR-E Scope” and press enter! My research shows me, it’s not a scope that would break the bank so, will it be sufficient? I’m most certainly willing to give it a try. In many cases you do get what you pay for, on rare occasions budget items can surprise you. Which one will I experience with this optic?

Paperweight or Something More?
Remember my earlier blog called Are Included Crossbow Optics Best Uses As Paperweights? I haven’t changed my mind. While I wait, let’s find out more about this particular scope. This one is 1.5-5X32 Magnification, one of the reasons it is called the, “Speedring”, is because it has a ring that allows you to make adjustments according to how fast the arrow is traveling, it says it can be fit to crossbows that shoot as slow as 270 FPS or as fast as 450 FPS, like the Ten Point Stealth 450 Crossbow.
Did I just hear you ask me, “How does that work?” I hope I can explain it in a manner that we can all understand. One very important tool to have is a ProChrono DLX, it’s a tool that reads the speed of your arrow. Each type of arrow will have a different speed depending on weight and design. You can find information about the arrows and crossbows online but the most accurate reading is going to be with yours in your environment. I’d encourage you to pick up a chronograph.
A Starting Point
The Killer Instinct SWAT X1 Crossbow claims a max FPS of 405, that would be with a light arrow, not necessarily with the arrows included. In order to set the optic correctly, I’ve got some testing to do and I plan to once it arrives. Once you determine the velocity with your particular arrow, you’ll have a starting point. We’ll get more into that once my crossbow arrives, let’s get back to the scope.
The next feature to talk about is the Killzone XB100 Reticle, which is a semi-circle with a centered dot. It’s supposed to be great for short range target acquisition as well as long range accuracy out to 100 yards, with multiple aimpoints and red or blue illuminated reticle options. Lastly but not leastly, heavy duty scope rings and premium flip up scope covers are included.
Is It Here Yet?
After my research, my conclusion is, is it here yet? No, but when it gets here, I’ll tell you more about it. What else can I kill time with? I guess it’s time to be responsible and get back to work. But you can read up on the Best Killer Instinct Crossbows, if you want to.
