Personalities & Preferences
I think by now we’ve established the fact that everyone is different and we have a plethora of personalities and preferences, ( I think today, I like the letter “p”). Peter Piper picked a peck of peppers…and that has nothing to do with this blog but I’m glad I got that out of my system.
When I go into a restaurant and look at a menu, the shorter the better because the longer the menu the harder the decision. Believe it or not, yours truly is adventurous and likes to try new things. A large menu causes me to eeny-meeny-miny-moe from four different groups of choices until I’ve narrowed it down to one. If that would drive you nuts, just invite me over to eat at your house, I promise I’ll eat whatever you put in front of me.
Getting Back On Topic
Back to the topic, why did you let me get so far off? Today I have a question for you, do you know what refurbished means? In case you don’t here’s the definition;
Re-furb-ished: made to look new again by work such as painting, repairing, and cleaning.
I bring this up because most archery equipment is offered both in brand new condition or refurbished. That brings me back to my original point, we all have different preferences, some will never buy refurbished while others only buy refurbished.
No Not Ever!
Here are a few reasons why some would never opt for a refurbished bow or crossbow.
- The idea of someone else having their grubby hands on their equipment before they did.
- Concerns about reliability, safety, potentially undisclosed damage.
- There may be less of a warranty offered.
- They have a giant money tree growing in their basement and what’s a couple hundred extra dollars anyways!
There are always some concerns when buying refurbished and I understand. Tell me if I’m wrong, (not really, I know I’m not) when you’re buying refurbished from an individual there’s a huge risk, unless you really know them and trust them.
Yes and Always!

When Buying a refurbished Wicked Ridge Fury 410 De-Cock RangeMaster Crossbow or a TenPoint Nitro 505 Oracle X Crossbow Package from a reputable company there’s less of a risk. That company has a goal to make their consumers happy, that refurbished equipment is going to seem brand new.
Here are a few reasons some may only buy refurbished.
- They can’t stand to see a good TenPoint Nitro 505 Oracle X Crossbow Package go to waste.
- Maybe the person who shot it before left some of their golden horseshoe behind and it’s only success here on out!
- The idea of saving up to $1000.00 on some jam up equipment tickles them pink.
- They can’t seem to get their money tree to grow and can’t spare the extra for brand new.
Dreams In Reach
Whatever the reason, aren’t you glad there are options? Have you ever thought of buying refurbished and did you? Maybe it never crossed your mind or you didn’t even know that refurbished equipment existed. If that’s the case, it’s worth taking a look, your dream crossbow just may be within reach! I’d love to hear your experience in the comments below.
