Good barrels .

I bought this barrel as a first upgrade to my 2240XL (PY-5117-10237). The fps boost was well worth the $20. It is a drop-in replacement. It'll take you 5-10 minutes to make the changeover, following online videos for disassembly of your current airgun.

I'm not too keen on the rough barrel exterior, but I understand that's a Crosman trademark of sorts. It's not the prettiest thing, but it's definitely recognizable as a Crosman. I would have preferred a smooth, polished finished prior to bluing.

The muzzle needs to be crowned. Actually you should polish the breech as well, so you have a good seal of the O-ring on the bolt. No front sight is included, but the standard 760 plastic one will work. You can also find third-party sights in metal and plastic as well as on Thingiverse.

Quality control.

As with most mass produced items quality control can sometimes wane. One barrel was perfect, the other barrel i ordered had a port that was not machined to specs and wouldnt except the transfer port sleeve.. With having an example barrel on hand i was able to drill the hole to the same specs. whet in great after that, i recrowned the ends as i do with all crosman barrels to ensure a nice even crown. Still a great product that my children will enjoy for a long time.

Along with the steel breach this longer barrel will add about 80-90 FPS. I have 2 modified 2240 pistols with this barrel and both are very accurate and powerful. With Accurate Arms 16 gr pellets I chronographed velocity at 544 FPS average. When changing your pistol to add this barrel; be careful with the tiny breach screw. Do not over tightened the screw. They are very easy to strip. Other than that it is very easy to replace the stock barrel with this upgraded barrel. Consider purchasing the steel breach too. These two upgrades makes this pistol a fantastic, high quality pistol for a little over $100. You wont be Disappointed.

Thank you Pyramid Air. prompt delivery, well packaged. I installed barrel on my stock Crosman 1322 Pistol carbine. Getting with 10 pumps, dime size shot groups on 5 shots at 26ft. away, muzzle to target with open sights and my 65 year old eyes. I am using Crosman 14.3 gr. Pellets both in pointed and hollow point. Every couple of groups I get a flyer which might be me or the quality of the pellets or combination of both. Also getting pellet on pellet 2 and 3 shots out of those 5 shot groups. The only thing that was done to the pistol that has giving me a great trigger for free has been that I compressed the trigger spring under the hand grip with my fingers. I saw how to do it on YouTube.

Scope for my bad eyes and quality pellets to minimize the flyers that I get every couple of groups and I think this carbine could be used for hunting small game humanely at short distances.

Great for training squirrels and chipmunks to stay away from the feed plots and stores.

the transfer port was very rough lots of burs and the crown was pretty bad nothing a quick polish couldn't fix.

be ready to do some work mine wouldn't shoot anything till i lapped it the rifling was just nasty but if your willing to do just a little work on the barrel its very worth it.

I put this on a 2240XL......beautiful combination with stock.

This will make you gun 18 1/2 " long with the steel breech kit from crosman. And not much weight added to to front.

This seemed to help accuracy a little,also increase in velocity.

A very nice and inexpensive alternative/upgrade to the stock 7.5" barrel. Quality is excellent. Installation was straight forward as far as 2240 mods go.

Thicker bluing. I really like/prefer the Diana Chaser barrel mounting system with 3 grub screws at the breech end and a clamping barrel ring (no grub screw).

I recommend the long steel breech to accompany this barrel upgrade. By itself, this barrel length will produce more pellet velocity and total power than the 7.5" barrel. This length also poises you to take full advantage of a power adjuster mod, which on a shorter barrel would have less benefit. That being said, I actually prefer the 10.1" barrel with shoulder stock and an LDC as my go-to ratter due to portability and other logistical factors. It is quite easy to swap out barrels, with near perfect consistency such that I can dial in my dot sight with the presets determined via bench rest for both the configurations I use. Yeah - a great upgrade, and with some nostalgia, the original 7.5" barrel is now archived.

Extended barrel looks really nice and definitely added to the accuracy of the rifle

I put this barrel on a crosman 2240 and it significantly increased pellet velocity... I don't have a crony but those pellets were zipping right through the (cardboard and newspaper) pellet trap that works fine with catching pellets that come out of a 7" barrel. Had to put an old piece of carpeting at the back to stop those long-barrel shots from getting through!

Have not used it yet.
