Things I liked:

This is my first pcp rifle, and I must say, I am quite impressed. This rifle is well made, accurate, and powerful. I have only shot it out to 100 yards, but I understand it can fire accurately to 200-300 yards.

Things I would have changed:

Nothing.

Things I liked:

Fit and finish, it is a work of art. Repeatable and useful adjustable power levels. Lowest power is like for indoors, maybe 6 FPE, next is just under 12 FPE, could use for WFTF Field Target, next is between 19 and 20 FPE depending on pellet weight, JSB 10.34gr is 19.44 FPE, ideal for USA Field Target. Next two power levels too powerful for .177 pellets, over 1000 FPS. Trigger is excellent, but heavier than I would like after turning out the over all trigger weight screw, will have to work on this, but for hunting, general use is excellent. It is now regulated, initial impression is that is working well, 55 yard shots seem very consistent. Number of shots per fill seems acceptable, l have not counted yet. Accuracy: first week it wasnt very good with 20% fliers, but each day it got better, less flyers. Now with JSB 10.34 it is very , very good, 5 40 yard shots all touching. I think it will continue to get better as the barrel seasons. I have not cleaned the barrel.

Things I would have changed:

As before, the non-automatic safety is on the trigger (WTF). For my use, I will rarely, if ever use the safety, but it should not be on the trigger. You would get used to it if it was your only gun, but... Fully shrouded barrel, it is backyard quiet, but not Maurader quiet. Air tube is a finger print magnet, but wipe down with an oil rag and it is the famed Air Arms black mirror blueing. I want to get the trigger weight lower for Field Target. The magazine on the left makes setting up a side focus scope with a large wheel a bit of a challenge.

What others should know:

.177 received only 2 1/2 weeks ago, so might not be my final openions. My focus is Field Target, I will use this in AAFTA Hunter PCP competition. This would be a 5-star review if the safety was removed or moved to a logical place. I would certainly recommend this gun based on my limited experience with it so far.

    Things I liked:

Beautiful, accurate, balanced, swivels, cheek and stock pad adjustments, 2 clips. Settings 2-5 shoot consistently at 20 yards, haven't tried it at longer ranges. Most people don't like the safety, but I think it's okay. I like that the air tank is smaller, not looking to spend hours shooting.

    Things I would have changed:

Would add a handle on the cocking lever, will order a off brand one. On mine, when you open the breech, it doesn't open quite enough to get the clip in. So, I have to hold the lever back to get the clip in, it's really close and might be okay after some use. The clip and the stop are 10MM high and the 11MM to picatinny mount almost slides over the top, maybe a Hawke mount might work. I would like to add a single piece scope mount to hold the scope, so I'm thinking I might need a longer picatinny rail. I would like the scope mount to be quicktach, my aimpoint T-1 is, and it transferred from my 22 rimfire without any adjustment at 20 yds. Would use that for hunting since it is light.

    What others should know:

The gun shipped very well. I checked the walnut stock over 3 times, and I couldn't fined a scratch, a marr, a dent or anything else. The stock is absolutely beautiful.

    Things I liked:

This gun is amazingly accurate. At 50 yards I can shoot,10 shot, dime size holes all day long. If I was a better shot the gun would shoot even smaller holes. The trigger is smooth, consistent and breaks like glass. The bud pad and cheek pad are fully adjustable and can be configured too fit anybodys head and shoulder position. This is my first side cocking air gun and I cant believe how smooth and easy it cocks. And lets not forget this gun is just extremely beautiful fit and finish are spectacular.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing!

    What others should know:

For this level of sophistication the price is definitely fair.

Very accurate gun! It is fun to use. I have been using Air Arms Diablo Field in my .22 . It is a bit heavy so I recommend getting a sling for hunting.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

Did not come with Airgun oil so you will want to add some to your order along with Hills silicone grease for the fill port o rings.

    Things I liked:

this is a well made rifle. it looks great and is really accurate, i bought the 22 cal and it is really powerful and is a joy to shot. i have a back yard range with 35 yard spinners and hanging targets out to 65 yards, this rifle makes me look like a pro. its my first pcp and im spoiled now. walnut stock looks good but looks kinda unfinished. fantastic trigger and not to pellet picky. other dont like safety but its nice right where it is. .ive not set it down since i got the compressor. i love it!!

    Things I would have changed:

nothing maybe the stock finished different, but it does look great

    What others should know:

stock up on pellets. i have beeman r9 in 22 and hw97 in 177 but this air arms s510 xs xtra ultimate sporter is serious shooter!. it needs a serious scope. im looking.....

Wow! Great rifle. This is my first PCP air rifle but I am very impressed. Nice power and accuracy with the .25 caliber version. Very little noise produced!

    Things I would have changed:

Wish there was a less expensive air compressor.

The Quality of Workmanship. This rifle is a work of art. I can see why Air-Arms has won the Airgun the Year Award two years in a row. I have owned other brands of "airguns" and this Air-Arms S510 is by far the most beautiful and best built.

    Things I would have changed:

I have around a thousand shots through this S510 now, and I can not think of a single thing I would change. One thing I would like to see Air-Arms offer is - A picatinny mount to slide into the fore-end for the Atlas Bipod I have.

    Things I liked:

I bought this in .177, this is a beautiful gun, fit and finish is spot on . It is Not too pellet picky, I have shot AA, JSB, H&N in various weights, on the 2 and 3 power setting with the med. weight pellets I am getting 860 to 900+ fps and excellent shot count , well over 50 good shots . 25 yards I am getting 3/8" groups, 50 yards I am getting 1/2" groups . If I had to pick 1 pellet I would go JSB 8.44gr @ 25 yards and probably use the AA 10.3 @ 50 yards, but it is pretty damn close group wise with either at both distances. The trigger is quite nice as well right out of the box. Now with all that said will it out shoot my FX Impact .22 fully tuned , No , but for quite a bit less money the S510 XS Ultimate Sporter Xtra is holding its own. and I am very happy with the gun. I sold my FX Streamline .177 in laminate after buying this gun, My s510 is in Walnut and there is ABSOLUTELY No comparison , not even close when it comes to the stocks, AA kills the competition stock wise....

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing much about the gun, but I wish the gun, at this price point , did come with a hard case instead of just being in a cardboard box

    What others should know:

The gun is rated at a 2 noise level and that is pretty close to what I consider an actual 2 , definitely backyard friendly , I added the DonnyFL Tanto Moderator and she is super quiet which is the way I like all my guns

    Things I liked:

The gun is beautiful. Period. I like the look, feel, design.

    Things I would have changed:

I would make is possible to use a bore snake. The breech opening is so small (just the clip width), that you can only use a rod to clean the barrel. Even then, getting the patch to come all the way out is impossible.

    What others should know:

The gun is heavy. Clean the barrel right away. It was filthy. If you let the shot pressure drop too low the gun will expel all the air in the reservoir after the shot (happened to me today actually). If youre not using a compressor, this could make for a bad day. The gun doesn't like wad cutters. Accuracy is poor using them. Round nose (Crosman) are the most accurate. I can send them through the same hole over and over at 10 meters at full power. Its a real nice gun. I love it. Its mantel worthy.
