Things I liked:

I friggin love this gun! This is my first pcp pistol. Got it because I wanted something more cost effective to get some trigger time with than my traditional powder guns. I have a few co2 replicas but I wanted something that packed more punch with consistent velocities in case I needed to dispatch the random critter here and there. This thing fits the bill perfectly and still maintains the look and feel of traditional pistol/1911ish. Also able to fill it with my Hill pump relatively easily, which is a definite bonus. Expensive? Yes. Worth every penny? Definitely

Things I would have changed:

Wish the rear site was a little more adjustable. It seems to be pretty accurate right out of the box though.

What others should know:

I've been looking for spare o-rings just to have in case I need to replace any. Haven't had much luck. Maybe because it's still relatively new there's not a lot on the market yet. Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.

Bought gun in February returned two weeks later-was shooting air just emptied out of it in a huge woosh. Got a replacement P.Air customer service is awesome- 2 1/2 weeks later same issue-I shoot a lot of rounds & @ over 500 + rounds through it-the gun will release its stored air thats still in it randomly and the only way to stop it Is to begin indexing/ cocking (don't snicker- lol) the side lever. Then it wont takes refill. This gun is a AWESOME & accurate pistol but be warned Ive had 2 Fail on me within 2 weeks of receiving-put some rounds though it-I’m Hoping these are just flukes but @ this price point Im disappointed but ordering a Third replacement-under warranty-THANK you P.A.-& crossing my fingers

I have been looking at this gun for along time undecided on compact or standard watched some videos on U tube on standards and compacts the standards with a air stripper look like giant Lincoln logs in their hands went with the compact man am I happy with the feel no Lincoln log

    Things I would have changed:

If you have been thinking about this gun get it I get three mags + out of my compact at 560+fps shoots hard for a air pistol

    What others should know:

It would be nice if they made this gun in 25 cal semi auto but this gun works flawlessly as it is .

    Things I liked:

Glad I got the .177 version the short time it was available. I am getting 35 regulated shots per fill before any drop off. Each fill barley drains my 90 cu. in. tank. I'm on fill 17 and it still fills to 210 bar. Accuracy is off the charts for a pistol.

    Things I would have changed:

Not much. The safety can sometimes be pushed past the shoot position. Should ship with more than one magazine. Very happy with this pistol.

    What others should know:

This caliber is not available at Pyramyd at this time, maybe in the future. Hawke 1X20 red dot fits perfectly, and looks good. Get extra magazines. Seems to like JSB 10.34's. I'm sure the .22 version is just as good.

Great little pistol. Had a probe problem, but pyramid fixed it quick. They have great customer service. Wish I came here 1st, when I started my pcp hobby. The ap16 is great. It's perfect to start little ones out shooting. It's light, it's less sound than a .22lr. My nephews love it. Happy with the ap16 and pyramid. I'd definitely recommend both.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    What others should know:

Pyramid seems like a really good company, with great customer service. Thats hard to find these days.

I just received my ataman ap16 I ordered it with 3 extra mags and a multitude of diff pellets (that were refered by pyramid air sales rep) for this pistol .every mag will not cycle they all hang up like it's jamming against something .I paid 1000 bucks for this pellet gun there should be no flaws or hangups I'll be calling pyramid air tomorow too request a return .sucks because I had been waiting for it too arrive now it will take twice as long .

The magazine indexing, it's faulty. Constantly skipping rounds. Had to return it, not worth the money.

It's a shame, cause it's a like the most compact option available.

    Things I liked:

Put simply this pistol is great. Ataman has my attention now. Its the same build quality as high end pcps simplified down into a 1911 feel. I shoot an FX impact, Dianas and Mauraders. This is more like FX on the build quality. Its a true pistol and I shooting either iron sights or a Sig Romeo 5 red dot. It is very accurate. From a sand bag it shots within an inch at 35 yards. My red dot cant resolve tighter so with a real scope its probably better. Shot as a pistol I can hit a rat head size target at 15-20 yards though I need to be slow and careful. I like the little magazines too. The pellets dont fall out. I have one in the gun and two in the pocket no problem. Some have reported they spin and miss pellets I had one do that and I backed out the center screw and it stiffened up. I get 21+ Shots (3 mags) when filled to 300bar at full power. Crosman premier 14.3 gr 630FPS, JSB 18.13gr 585 FPS, JSB 15.89gr 615FPS, JSB 25.39gr 505fps

    Things I would have changed:

Honestly. Not much, minor stuff. The triggers second stage is a little indistinct. Very light but Im used to it now. You will need a case. I ended up buying a pelican 1085 case for laptops. Nice and thin but strong. The safety moves easily and can slide all the way out which put me off at first. I would not put it in a pocket cocked. But otherwise the safety works well. Make sure you have a good hand pump or several cheap ones. Sometimes I fill up from a tank then top in with a hand pump. Sometimes I just hand pump it. I will probably buy spare tanks and the longer barrel. Its hard to shoot a pistol after hand pumping a lot :-).

    What others should know:

It is super loud. Get a suppressor. Its dissipating a lot of energy down the little barrel. I put a Donny FL tanto on it (.25). With that it is backyard friendly. I might get a larger one because I also shoot rats at an equestrian center and it still might spook horses. Well see. If you are looking for a real pcp pistol yes this is pricey but its worth it I shoot it all the time. If you are looking for a hybrid rifle/pistol or this is your only pcp I would recommend something else. There are other options that are better hybrids and are more rifle than pistol. You can get the folding stock thing but it looks a little clunky. Id prefer a grip with a lug for a folding stock before Id use it like a small rifle. In conclusion though if you love airguns and are shooting pcps get one of these. Its a nice break from rifle shooting. I must have already put 1000+ pellets through it. Its helped my real 1911 shooting too. Nice job Ataman.

    Things I liked:

Accurate, accurate, accurate. Smooth trigger and I suspect if a fly landed on the trigger the gun would go off. (possible exaggeration)

    Things I would have changed:

Magazine seems to skip as after certain number of shots it goes to an empty space and I just shoot air. When you take mag out there will be two rounds left with empty spaces in between. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

    What others should know:

Buy lots of pellets. I am not good enough to tell which Diabolo might be best, probably should try shooting with a bag or something.

I can not tell you the quality of air gunners this site has vs. others is crazy. I own two Ataman AP-16's one purchased at Pyramid one at Air Gun Depot, I also have the Ataman M4 from Pyramid. These gun perform flawlessly an at Max fill with the proper tuning will smoke any other PCP pistol of it's class. The workmanship is beautiful considering they are air pistols an all Russian firearms powder or air are guns made to be used. I own FX an some other top name PCP air guns an Ataman is always my first choice.

    Things I would have changed:

Improve how the magazine rides, would like to see a more stable platform for the magazine maybe like the Benjamin Maurader uses.

Lightwieght, accrurate, sufficent power, multiple shots with a smooth reloading process.

    Things I would have changed:

I wouldnt change anything with the gun, however if there was a way i could regulate my HPA tank to the fit the guns 300 Bar needs i would be able to enjoy it much more. However 300 Bar isnt a common pressure amongest air guns so i would be aware of that before making this purchase. Or be prepared to by a 4500psi handpump with the purchase. I didnt but with only one magazine with it the 7 shots youll have to reload it anyways so no harm in having to refill the tank while your at it i suppose.

    Things I liked:

The gun is very accurate right out of the box. has a good crack to it... I get 6 shots to the fill and then recharge... It will nail a Coyote's butt at 30 yards and kill it at 20yrds.. Coyote trouble is why I purchased it as I didn't want to kill them anymore...Really nice shooting and accurate with 13.8gr and 21.5gr pellets. I like it... The 12inch length is great as every other gun I have reviewed is minimum 17 inches for anything huntable.... 12inch was the selling point for me... All in All even at the price I have no real complaints at all!!! Thanks

    Things I would have changed:

do some work on the safety as its touchy

    What others should know:

always leave air in this gun of at least 500psi.... Be careful with the safety. Expensive so should come with a holster and some pellets... make sure lever is all the way back before trying to remove cylinder...

    Things I liked:

What an amazing pistol! The fit and finish is superb, the design is really nice to look at AND handles beautifully. This is worth every penny.

    Things I would have changed:

Upon arrival the unit would not take a fill. Whenever I tried to fill it the air simply flowed through the reservoir and straight out the barrel. I futzed with it for a LONG WHILE. I even sent a message to Pyramyd support, but due to the holidays the response was pretty slow. I was a bit perturbed having just dropped almost $1000 on a pistol and not being able to play with it over the holiday break. I read and re-read the manual from cover to cover, no clues. Its a brand new gun so teh interwebs were useless as well. I concluded that the valve and regulator *might* require a bit of pressure to work correctly so on a hunch I spun the tank off the gun and filled it away from the gun. Now the tank filled normally! I then screwed it back on the gun and PRESTO! the valve and regulator did their thing. I was in business! Christmas was saved! I would request that until the manuals can be updated, a printed flyer be included with each gun to explain this little caveat. Would have saved me some frustration.

    What others should know:

See above if you're not able to get a new unit to take a fill out of the box.

    Things I liked:

Multishot PCP pistol! High pressure (300 bar) rating ensures max shot capacity before having to refill pressure. Great finish, weight, slim profile, and feel in hand. Pistol will shot 3.5 magazines (~25 shots) before reaching empty. From what I read only the first 14 shots are regulated. Next 7 shots don't have any obvious noticeable drop off but after that it goes rapidly downhill. I would recommend no more than 21 shots per fill. Safety is very convenient and well integrated though I would prefer a traditional saftey/decocker.

    Things I would have changed:

Would have preferred a .177 to get more shots plinking, but .22 is fine and even better for pest control so it's a trade off. Would really have preferred wider magazine to accommodate longer pellets. Sights are all black and difficult to see so I will probably paint the front sight. Should add numbers to magazine so you can see when you are out.. either that or a mechanism to prevent firing with empty magazine and wasting air.

    What others should know:

Even the "compact" pistol is extremely long at 12 inches. Probably not bad for an air pistol but much longer than any real pistol besides the longest magnum revolvers. I would change a lot of things to make it better but I haven't seen a better PCP air pistol than this one with the qualities I like. Expensive, but worth it. Oh, and pumping by hand is tedious but not impossible. I am a big guy and 0 - 300 bar takes me 56 full pumps from a 4500 psi hand pump, the last 15 or so pumps are very difficult and require full body weight Pump never gets hot if you use full body weight force strokes. Do not use a pump rated less than 4500 because you will lose precious shots. Buy 2 extra mags to have 3 mags total (21 shots per fill). Trigger is extremely light! It can be adjusted but it's difficult to get behind trigger to adjust tension with allen key and I haven't been able to do it.
