    Things I liked:

Everything! This was my first PCP and I love it! 25 shots from 2000-1200 psi. And super easy to fill with the pump! It's really liking the crossman premier domed pellets. This rifle is super light even topped with the Mantis scope. It's an amazing rifle far superior to my .22 springers! Great great buy! Pyramyd air rocks! And this Maximus .22 is a down right coon slaying machine!

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe an adjustable trigger that's metal. Oh and scope stops. I haven't had any issues yet but it worries me not having any.

    What others should know:

    Buy it it's amazing!!

    Things I liked:

Nice weight, very accurate with the right pellets, great price. The rifle was charged to about 1000 psi when it arrived and hasn't leaked yet.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger. Mine breaks at between 5 and 7 lbs, but is crisp nonetheless.

    What others should know:

This is a great entry level PCP rifle. It shoots H&N 10.65 gr. pellets into a 9/16' group at a measured 25 yds. from a rest. I had to shoot 6, or 7 different brands and weights to find the right pellet. These pellets generate 18 fpe at the muzzle at 876 fps and 10.76 fpe at 50 yds. Plenty of power for ground squirrels out to 50 yds. The "sweet spot," pressure wise, is between 1750 psi and about 1100 psi and gives me about 30 shots. I bought an 80 cu. ft. scuba tank, used, for $35.00, which holds 3300 psi. It gives me approximately 157 fills from 1100 psi to 1750 psi, so it was a cheap and economical way to go. I found an inexpensive fill station on Amazon for $34.00, so I'm in to the whole thing for about $270.00 plus ammo. I will probably put a Marauder trigger in it when I get the money, but I can shoot it like it is in the meantime. I would recommend this rifle to anyone wanting an entry level PCP .

    Things I liked:

everything but trickier pull .. One hole at 26 yards 911 fps with 10.3 gr air arms i have shot 3/4 in 5 shot gropes at 75 yards with this gun on dead com mornings and get 20+ shots before reaching 1500#

    Things I would have changed:

    trickier pull

    What others should know:

one heck of an air gun i have it in .22 and a discovery in .22 love all 3 of them the .177 is the most accurate out to 35 yards after 75 yards the .22 is a little better and has more foot # of energy at the get go 18 fpe for 177 and 25 for the .22 and the 22 holds energy better Any part for any Crosman air gun is only 7 to 10 days a way one call and very nice people on the outer end of the phone

    Things I liked:

Lower charge pressure 2000 psi instead of the 3000+ psi on most other PCP rifles. Size and light weight make this easy to carry for hours of shooting and hunting. Over 24 usable shots per fill with the 22 Cal. version. Durable stock, I use mine for hunting and it has been dropped, scraped and abused without damage.

    Things I would have changed:

For the price, not much! Maybe a slightly smoother trigger but even that gets better with use.

    What others should know:

This gun likes JSB 15.89 grain and 18.13 grain pellets. With a good scope you can shoot 50 yard groups of less than 1.5" Spend a little extra and get a 3X9 mil-dot version scope, this rifle is worth it. This rifle is far better than it should be for the price, BUY ONE!

Very accurite with the right ammo ,ime using sniper max 15g h&n pellets and it is loving them

    Things I would have changed:

Needs a wider feed tray for long pellets to be loaded consistantly easy , wish they would make a quiet version

    What others should know:

Use heavy tight fitting pellets to engage the rifleing ,cheap crosman domes wuth holo point pellets work the best for light pellets

    Things I liked:

I love the stock, in specific, the contour, (I like it a lot better than the stock on my Discovery), the raised cheek comb and the fact that it has sling studs already installed. I also like the barrel being about 2" longer than the disco's. Don't get me wrong, I love my disco, but if you were looking for your 1st pcp, this would be a better choice than the disco, because it really is an upgraded version of the disco. The only reason to buy a disco over this one is if you prefer a wood stock.

    Things I would have changed:

At this price point, I think you get a whole a lot of "bang for the buck".

    What others should know:

I have been getting good results with JSB exact .177 10.34gr domed pellets, yesterday I got a 1/2" group at 30 yds from a bench rest. I have no doubt that the accuracy of this rifle far exceeds my shooting ability. This is probably the best choice available for an entry level pcp.

    Things I liked:

Easy entry level PCP. The gun shoots much better than I can. Great value and is definitely a gateway to more PCP.

    Things I would have changed:

Not one thing. It is an entry level gun at an entry level price and it performs very well. It is light-years ahead of the Benjamin break barrel that I had previously.

    What others should know:

My gun does not like the RWS 8.3g pellets that were included in the bundel - grouping over 2 inches at 30 yards from a gun rest. If you are having trouble with the gun scattering the POI - do yourself a favor and try other pellets. The CPHP 7.9 will shoot clover leaf groups at 30 yards

    Things I liked:

Good design. As good as it gets for the price. Very accurate with the right pellet, powerful enough for small game hunting and fun to shoot. Easy to fill with a handpump.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is typical for an air rifle in this price range. Wish it was lighter.

    What others should know:

This is a great value. Crosman got it right. It is unfortunate that some rifles were shipped with quality issues. Pyramyd and Crosman both handle warranty issues promptly.

    Things I liked:

This is my first PCP air rifle. So far I am totally impressed with the rifle. I especially like the lighter weight as compared to my spring rifles. Accuracy is impressive as I have tried several different weight pellets and they all group well. The best performer is JSB 15.89 gr (.22 cal). It takes a bit of getting used to placing the pellets into the loading chamber as it is a tight area - especially with a mounted scope. So far I am extremely happy with the rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

A rubber butt pad and an adjustable trigger would be the two things I would change.

    What others should know:

I am learning that there is a sweet spot in the amount of chamber pressure where accuracy is best. Pumped to near capacity (2,000 psi) the rifle will shoot high for about the first three shots. Then the next 8 shots or so are dead on accurate and after that the shots drift low as the pressure diminishes.

    Things I would have changed:

Quality control!! Check for leackage before sending to sellers.

    What others should know:

I purchased my first one and it leaked. I returned it to Pyramyd Air for a replacement. As soon as I received the replacement, I pumped it to 2000 lb. and it also started to leak air. I returned the second one to Pyramyd Air for a refund. Didtn't want to take a chance on another one leaking. Seems the company would fill the chamber with air and check for leaks before sending them out to their sellers. I own a Marauder and a Discovery with no leakage problems. Seems there is a problem with the company's quality control. Pyramyd Air was great for returning the two leaking Maximus. If you purchase a Maximus be sure to check for leaks when you receive it. Pyramyd Air gives a full 30 day return from the time received.

    Things I liked:

Bang for the buck. I had gotten the memorial day special rifle, pump, scope and ammo for what i think was one heck of a deal. Rifle came with a full charge and hasn't leaked one bit. When i put it up i keep around 1000-1100psi in the tank so the deals remain under some pressure to stay fully sealed and so far seemes to work just fine. Really loves the 1800-1200psi curve and gets 15 really consistent shots closer to 20 with lighter pellets. The 10 for 10 confirms just over 850fps with RWS hobbies at shots 9 and 10 getting into that 1800 range. I've found so far 4 pellets that shoot real close in accuracy though. H&N sniper magums, JSB 15.9, RWS super H points and RWS superdomes. The H&N rabbits shoot alright but still right through one inch thick wood and still make a solid this into my trap at 25 yards. Something my more powerful hatan 125 cant do, that i find pretty interesting

    Things I would have changed:

I would say the trigger but at its price point in the pcp world you really can't gripe. It is a hard pull but it breaks clean and consistently which is what matters to me. The front sight was pretty off center and with a light twist it popped right off which I found disappointing even though i already threw the scope on. When buying it I was aware of the non threaded end but I still think it should be threaded for those who want to throw a TKO muzzle brake or something similar to hush it up and make it more backyard friendly

    What others should know:

It's got a little bark to it and could be easily mistaken for a rimfire with that similar crack they make so make sure your neighbors and or neighborhood regulations will allow it or tolerate the noise. I firmly believe this is a 60 yard plus rifle in the right hands. In my hands at 40 yards 3/4 inch groups are average with a 1/2 inch group here and there with the south FL winds kicking around. For me to push that distance any further within my own yard id be aiming closer to my neighbors houses more than I'm comfortable with otherwise I would have tryed it out myself.

    Things I liked:

I really like the black synthetic stock over my easy to scratch wood stock Discovery. I like metal,so the safety button is favorable as well.I like the rear sight as I do the Disco.

    Things I would have changed:

As well as on the Disco I would change the way the bolt is kept closed.I have a rare earth magnet heat shrinked to my disco bolt so it sticks to the lower tube. I have had the disco blow open on extreme high tree shots. The front sight is terrible it will not stay vertical because it slips on to the barrel tip on a flat spot. Those who like iron sights will not like this.

    What others should know:

The part I hate to report, since Pyramid has been so gracious and credible in replacing the 3 problem maximus rifles they have sent me. I am not going to try another. My first one leaked down overnight, however it shot great 25 yard groups of 1/4".The next two had strait line rifling with NO twist. Very inaccurate 3" at 25 yards, but what could you expect. I contacted Crosman and they wanted to Look at the third one, and sent me an RMA so no cost would be to me. I have elected to return it to Pyramid and purchase a 177 disco instead. Terry in Alabama.

    Things I liked:

This is my 1st PCP. I like that it was more affordable, light and low fill psi. When I ordered it it was said to have a threaded barrel and that was (changed or cleared up) after I made the order. Now, they are offering a package that has an adatoper. It is loud but I think my 392 with 8 pumps is louder, not as loud as a 22 LR. I am one that was dreaming of the air arms hole in hole accuracy and relize that is not what this is but is fun to hope, but after trying several different pellets, I was told to try the H&N 5.55, and they gave me the tight (dime size), one hole group, I was looking for at 15 yards. I tried the JSB verity pack and they all shoot with in quarter at 15 yards. The gun liked the crossman domes in the box and the Walmart hps but 1 out of 5 would not be in the single hole but still in a quarter at 15 yards. I have moved to 25 yards and it opens up a bit, but I have not shot the H&N 5.55,s at 25 yards yet b/c it has been soo hot here, but hope they want open up much.

    Things I would have changed:

I took the sights off and put the Mantis 4-12 x40 on and I am loving the combonation. I optoted to get a 3,000 psi scuba tank and am getting fill after fill not sure what the max is going to be before I have to refill but have gotten several dozen so far. The trigger does need some work, it is heavy for a rifle and after some time spent shooting my finger gets sore. (I might get the disco trigger upgrade later) this is a good intro into the PCP hobby/ hunting world of air gunning. I wish they made a left hand safety and bolt but I have learned over the years how to cope.

    What others should know:

The gun arrived with 500- 1000psi in it and I fill to 2,000psi and shoot down to 500-1000. I try to store the gun with close to 1,000psi and have not had any issues with any leaking. I took it right out of box and shot on several outings and then cleaned the barrel. The groups opened up for 20-30 shots and then seemed to settle in and that is when I got the one hole group with the H&Ns. It still seems to dropp one in 5 with the crossman domes and hps though, but they are still under the size of a US quarter and would still be with in a minute of squirrels head at 15 yards. I hope to take many squirrels this fall with my son.

.177 shoots great. light weight, nice finish, sling studs already on the gun unlike my disco. great shot count. don't get me wrong I love my disco

    Things I would have changed:

nothing really, if I "HAD" to say anything then it would be the trigger maybe, but I love that too. I'm not picky I'm just a shooter that loves to shoot

    What others should know:

.177 version of this gun is awesome. the best pellets i've tested so far was the h & n extremes and barracuda hunters, the JSB 13gr and JSB 10.34gr. but the ones I shoot in my gun is the JSB13gr. the knockdown power on squirrels with those are amazing, I use the other pellets for plinking or shooting pest birds. loud without muzzle break but extremely quite one. I mostly shoot out to about 20 or 30 yards and I get about 35 to 40 shots per fill starting at around 2100psi. my disco .177 only give me 25shots so I'm loving the extra shots. I have tested the gun out to see how it performs at 50yards and I get about an 1" groups with the 10.34gr JSB. I put a 4-16x50 scope on it and its great. I don't have a crony so I cant give you the exact fps for 10 to 20 shots but I know my gun does. I know this I glad I purchased this gun, I now have around 2000 shots already. I recommend this gun to any one who's wanting to start out into the PCP world. light weight, accurate and easy to pump by hand

    What others should know:

the gun arrived with no air pressure (concern) and sure enough its leaking air slowly - 2000 to 500 in 6 hours. Tech on site said it could be seals but for a new airgun, quality control sure is lacking. will update later.

    Things I liked:

I like only having to pump up to 2000 PSI, pumping up a 3000 PSI cylinder is a good workout with a hand pump. This Maximus .22 rifle is very lightweight, does not get heavy if you carry it around a while. The accuracy of this rifle is very good, tested using 14.3 grain .22 cal. Crossman Premier hollow points and achieved very satisfactory results at 25 yards. Bolt is easy to cock with a pinky, and the pellets are not hard to load. I was really impressed with the RMA service at Pyramyd Air, my first Maximus rifle leaked after the 4th fill. Pyramyd Air replaced my rifle in a very hassle free and expedient manner.

    Things I would have changed:

The fiber optic manual sights are nice, but the sights are not very centered on the rifle. I had to move the wind-age setting over pretty noticeably. I ran out of elevation setting on the first rifle, could not even be set properly. The replacement rifle sights were much better, but the wind-age setting still looked pretty bad, as I had to move so far over to zero. I ended up purchasing the Hatsan red dot dove tail sight for the second rifle.

    What others should know:

It seems the sweet spot for consistent velocity shots are 1800 PSI down to 1200 PSI with the highest velocity shot being in the middle of this range. I have included some chronograph data using the 14.3 grain .22 caliber Crossman Premier Hollow Point pellets. The starting shot was at 2000 PSI maximum fill, with the last shot at 1100 PSI for a total of 39 shots: 1>768,755,768,761,773,781,788,793,791,799,797,801,803,805,799,801,804,800,813,810,818,809,821,810,810,820,812,822,814,813,808,802,801,800,790,777,780,768,761>39. The high was 822 with a 796 average. I could most definitely see this rifle producing even more consistent velocities with a match grade pellet of similar weight. The accuracy of this rifle was impressive using these pellets at 25 yards with a red dot sight. I was able to achieve sub 1 inch groups using a Primos trigger stick and chair. Seems this is great for someone who wants to get into PCP rifles without spending a lot of money.

    Things I liked:

Just set this gun up with a scope and put a hundred rounds through it . I must say I'm pretty impressed with the quality and accuracy of this rifle. It came as advertised . It shot 20+ rounds (22 cal) throughout its recommended pressure range with the first 2-3 shots at max pressure a bit high and the last 2-3 a bit low. With the best pellets(JSB jumbo heavy 18.13gr and H&N Barracuda match 21gr) any three shot group in the mid pressure range could be covered by a dime(30yards) . I feel the gun is very well made for the price and am completely satisfied.

    Things I would have changed:

The hose on the pump is to short It's pretty loud compared to others I've shot

    What others should know:

Don't think I could have done better for the price
