I enjoy mine very much. I got one in .22 cal. I found it nice in handling, and performance. The noise level was acceptable to me, considering I have many other .22 cal. air rifles and the (talon) was my last purchase. I use them at work for pest (dispatch) issues. I first installed military double claw scope mounts (raised) and a 6x18- 50mm adj. odj. scope. I also intalled the trigger upgrade. I can pop a pest and never disturb someone 10 ft. away. I liked this rifle very much, bought one and set it up for my girl, she loves hers and leaves mine alone.
Things I would have changed:I changed the scope mounts and scope as said above. I also changed the trigger.
What others should know:Just like any other rifle, keep a thin oil coat in the barrel, even in between 20-30 shots.

light, powerful and quiet with the gas ram upgrade.
Things I would have changed:The back sight is very fragile, keeps moving around its plastic base even after tightening it. The (2) screws that hold the stock on both sides broke inside the rifle from the recoil. The plastic cap at the end of the muzzle keeps popping out. Cheap trigger.
What others should know:did not like the quality, too many plastic part popping out, breaking or getting loose. If U are getting this rifle dond forget a bottle of super glue.

The rifle is well balanced and its ergonomics designed well. The mounting for the scope is sturdy and easy to set up. Accuracy is excellent, but in sighting in the rifle I found that any pressure on the barrel itself when shooting caused accuracy problems, so you must support and/or rest the rifle only using the stock itself. Cocking the rifle was not difficult for me, but considering the power of the rifle, someone who would have problems carrying about 35 pounds could have some problem cocking the rifle. The solution for my wife was to set the butt of the rifle on the ground using a mat to protect the stock and then press down on the barrel using your body weight to help cock the weapon.
Things I would have changed:Rather than the rather uninterruptable statement that the whisper feature reduces “loudness” by 52%, an actual measurement using a sound level meter in comparison the similar rifles without the whisper sound reduction would be nice. Supplying the rifle with an illuminated Mil-Dot reticle would be a nice standard feature.

Quiet, Quiet, Quiet. Smooth cocking, easy shooter, little recoil. Accy. compared to springer is astounding. I have the Gamo Silent Cat in 177 springer, and the difference in accuracy, noise, vibration and required shooting technique is incomparable.
Things I would have changed:Outlaw springs in rifles and go with the piston.
What others should know:Makes the Artillery Hold obsolete...almost. Extra $100 a bit steep for piston, but worth it. Gonna have PA install a Piston in the Cat when I find a buyer for my first born.

Much Quieter than all my other Air Rifles "No Crack". Dime size Groups 20-25 Yards, Half Dollar size at 50 yards.
Things I would have changed:Rear Sight .

Fairly powerful and accurate.
Things I would have changed:Not quiet enough: My last gun was a gamo cfx .177, and compared to that, this is just as noisy, if not even more so than the cfx, so I feel a bit misled by the marketing of this gun as "quiet". Gamo says that it is 52% quieter than other guns, but from my experience, that just can't be true. I even recorded the audio of the shots of both guns and compared them.
What others should know:I have the .22 version of this rifle.

Light weight. Smooth action. Quiet.
Things I would have changed:Tupperware stock. Very "plastic" feel (because it IS mostly plastic).
What others should know:Before even firing the first pellet, I changed the trigger to a GRT III. The trigger weight is so light now it will take some getting used to.
I then removed the front and rear sight as well as the scope riser. This was done so that I could mount the scope as close to the barrel as possible. The scope now sits about 3/8" closer which should improve accuracy quite a bit I can see the muzzle brake in the lower view when looking through the optic. Don't mind though as it serves as a co-witness at close range.
With Crow Magnum pellets, the accuracy is very good. This rifle is for close range rabbit hunting as well as pest control so the heavy hitting power is appreciated.
Today, I ordered an ATN MK 350 Guardian Night Vision Riflescope for this weapon. This light weight rifle should compliment the heavy (3#) optic. It is to be a SHTF small game urban hunting rifle. Quiet with night vision. I'll post more when it's all put together.
It's a good rifle. Feels kind of cheap at first, but after shooting it, I'm glad I bought it.

WOW, WOW, WOW! This is a nice rifle. This is a really nice rifle! I purchased this in .177 and was not disappointed in its performance. The nitro piston makes for easy and smooth cocking. The gun is quiet enough to use in the back yard. The gun is accurate and last night I killed a rabbit with a shot to the head at 35 yards. My next door neighbor's son shot another rabbit at 30 yards a few minutes later. Both rabbits died instantaneously. This gun would be a good choice for small game hunting. Very pleased! I used the inexpensive Crosman hunting pellets.
Things I would have changed:Gamo needs to upgrade the cheap 3x9 scope. Gamo should also just produce the gun with a gas piston or gas ram. Buying Pyramyd Air's Crosman Nitro Piston upgrade is a real no brainer.
What others should know:I purchased a Leapers 3x9 50 AO mil-dot to replace the cheap 3x9 Gamo scope. I had previous experience with the same Gamo scope on a Gamo Extreme CO2 which was not very good inside 10 yards, there is no adjustable objective. I sighted the gun in at 24 feet (8 yards.) At 20 yards the gun shoots almost 1.3 inches high and at 35 yards is close to 1.6 inches high, so I aimed a little low at the rabbit for a deadly shot. A rifle sighted in at 24 feet is on zero at 50 yards. You can find this information on the web. Look for; "Field Use of an Airgun By Robert Beeman". The same principle works well on big bore hunting rifles. My 30.06 sighted in at 25 yards, is 1.5 inches high at 100 yards and is dead on at 225 yards. The bullet passes through zero at 25 yards and 225 yards. Likewise a pellet will pass through zero at 24 feet and 50 yards. This seems to work well for .177, .20 and .22 pellets. For .25 caliber pellets the point at which they pass through zero is 24 feet and 40 yards. If you memorize the table you will be able to predict shot placement. With this method for sighting in a rifle, it can be done indoors, at home, anytime. Have fun!

The feel of the nitro piston while cocking and firing, accuracy, report, impact and penetration of .22 pellets.
Things I would have changed:Trigger and the front sight viewable in the scope at low power. The front sight is faint and out of focus but it still annoys me a little.
What others should know:I like this rifle. It is not a quiet as advertised, but is still a hell of a lot quieter than my Daisy powerline 1000. Once I filled the stock with expanding foam it cut down on the vibration and was even quieter still. I shoot in a track home type backyard and while the neighbors know something is going on it does not scream air rifle. Maybe power stapler or nail gun. I did replace the trigger with the grt-III, which is awesome. I broke the rifle down and put blue lock tight on everything. The scope hasn't moved yet. The scope is not the best thing ever but it gets the job done. I am about 150 rounds in and groups are tightening up a little. With my humble skills I am shooting sub 1" at 20yds. More than accurate enough for me to take care of my pocket gopher problem. The .22 blows chunks out of them. I can't wait to test it out on something a little bigger. I get slightly better groups with RWS hollow points than H&N barracudas. The barracudas will penatrate almost 800 pages in a phone book while the hollow points about 500. For me, this is a fun plinker and varmint hunter.

I have only shot 10 rounds just to check its out-of-box functionality. Very smooth to cock and solidly locks back into firing position. The 10 rounds fired were within an 1 1/2 circle at 30 yards. The Nitro Piston unleashed its power smoothly without causing a barrel jump. Personally, I did not find the trigger pull to be an issue. I have not mounted the scope yet because I have not installed the accessory scope mount. I'll do that when I have the time to sight it in properly. But, for now, out-of-the-box is just great !
What others should know:It is a quiet gun for the shooter. You may not realize how quiet until you have someone else shoot while you are down range from the mussel.

this gun is sturdy, accurate, cool, it feels nice, its quiet, nd its also very easy to shoot.....i use a 3-9x40 scope which it should come with and after sighting the scope in the rite way the gun has not been off target since......its definitely worth the price nd if ur thinking about getting it dont just get it.......i hav not had problems with it yet nd i doubt i will any time soon.....great for small game hunting nd it is very strong!
Things I would have changed:absolutely nothing at all
What others should know:this gun is very strong nd should not be shot without saftey goggles and adult supervivsion but kids wood absolutely hav fun....as long as they r also safe nd not gettin shot at

I don't care what anybody says, this is QUIET ! W/Nitro piston , all you get is a gentle "thunk" Accurate too ! Great for suburban hunting.I was gonna sell mine if I found anything better for late night crawls through the backyard. Rws 48,talon ss, not quiet enough.
Things I would have changed:I'm only 5'9" , so maybe a little shorter than 48" overall length.
What others should know:Very light weight,so the length is not a real problem. You can take a sqirrel at 25 yds without the squirrel next to him realizing what happened until it is too late.highly reccomend.

Very powerful. Very accurate. Well balanced. Decent scope. Awesome factory mounted fiberoptic open sights. Trigger is ok. Easy to cock with the gas ram system.
Things I would have changed:Heavier hardware for the scope mount. My scope slid back from recoil and damaged the scope mount, even with a Gamo scope stop. Heavier hardware would have allowed me to tighten the rings to the base even more preventing the damage. The hardware supplied are very small wimpy Torx screws that strip easily. Everything else is great.
What others should know:Great gun for the money.

I like that is actually pretty quiet and easy to shoot. I had mixed feelings about the trigger after reading comments from other folks. But I would have to disagree and state that the trigger is actually pretty good. I like the feel and comfort and the ease of cocking to load the load. Another great feature is the weight. This baby is really light and easy to carry. The scope is actually really nice. I expected something pretty low quality, but this unit is put together quite nice. I have it grouped pretty tight with both lead and PBA loads at about 75 feet. Also, the air venturi seems to work really nicely.
Things I would have changed:I wouldn't put such a high rear site if matched up with the scope. I don't like how you can see that in the sites while looking through the scope. I think it's nice, however it needs to come off if using the scope all the time. I would make the trigger a little more sensitve, however it's not all that bad now.
What others should know:Don't be fooled into thinking that the advertised FPS is actually what you are going to receive. Don't get me wrong, it's fast, but after I got the report it only shot 850 FPS from the factory with the lightest load.

overall this gun "the 22 w/ gas spring" is accurate even with the creep on the trigger. The gun is easy to cock and load.
Things I would have changed:the trigger crep is horrible. the scope. and the fact it states its quiet? Compared to what ;a fire cracker??? im not accustomed to the safety and wish it went on when the gun is cocked.
What others should know:my scope mount broke after 50 rounds? what the hell. I put a BSA variable and hit a nickle at 40 yards!

I bought the .22 cal version of the Gamo Whisper with ram air gas spring. It rocks. Very smooth cocking, minimal recoil compared to a conventional metal spring. This is a very powerful, accurate, lightweight, quiet, low-recoil, hunting machine.
Things I would have changed:I would like a little better scope with a parallax adjustment.
What others should know:I owned a Beeman C-1 in .177 cal. for 27 years. It was a great gun with a nice wood stock. I recently gave it to my son, a Marine Corps sniper, for plinking in the back yard. He loves it but I have to tell you, this gun is more fun to shoot and where I live I have very close neighbors. This rifle is a much better fit for my urban environment.

Great gun
Things I would have changed:The gamo scope is cheap. Had difficult time zero in. The fiber optic sights mount is plastic threads were stripped, had to glue down as the screw kept coming loose.
