TenPoint Crossbows Viper 430 Reviews

Had bow 4 days and got to shoot it 4 times to sight it in before it broke. The failure of the bow is one thing but the slow and lack of service from TenPoint is another. Took forever to get authorization to send bow back now I am told they will sit on it for 2 weeks before they even begin to look at it. With something so new with a new customer they should do better. In my opinion the bow should have been exchanged for a new one with no hassle at all. Very disappointed with paying such a high dollar for something and getting such poor service. I think the bow would be amazing if they would just do what is right.

The Viper S415 is a great shooting crossbow. I purchased this crossbow due to neck & shoulder injuries that caused me to be unable to use my compound bow any longer. The ability to cock & decock the bow, without any loose or externally mounted devices was my main reason for this choice. The Viper S415 has been amazingly easy to get sighted in & shoots all the way through my original Block target. I have been bow hunting for 40 plus years & have never seen anything that shoots like this crossbow does.

Very consistent and accurate bow. Took a while to get sited in but once it was it was hitting dead bullseyes out to 60 yards. Scope is really nice and love the acuslide

The Viper S415 is the 1st crossbow I ever purchased. I was given my father’s old Horton after he passed. I’d occasionally use it to hunt Whitetails in WV and OH. The Viper S415 is a completely different beast. The trigger breaks with no creep and the speed and accuracy are Impressive. The crossbow is worth every penny. The scope on the other hand not so much. I can’t get the elevation to adjust. Windage works fine. I’m planning on returning it for a replacement. In the meantime, I am fortunate that I have a red dot to mount that will get me through early season hunts. With that said, my range will likely be somewhat limited because of the substitution.

Cross bow is accurate to 30 yards with stock arrows but struggles to maintain a group beyond 30 yards.

Everything has been great the only thing that has been an issue is while sighting in at 20 y is good 40y is good but at 60yards I am constantly five inches high but if I use my 50 yard indicator on the scope I am dead on can’t figure that one out!

Really like this crossbow. Super fast, low profile, easy to cock and decock. Just watch the official videos for the cock and decock instructions

Overall I like this crossbow (415S). It is well made and the accu-draw cocking works well most of the time and makes it easy to de-cock. I am in the habit of following the cocking instructions but have had a problem several times with the slide and braking system binding up after shooting. I have been able to work through this issue by backing the cranking knob manually to slide the cocking box down the rail. Hopefully this does not become a major problem. The bow is accurate and was easy to sight in. The bolt quiver is a little flimsy and would be better with two arrow anchor attachments instead of one. Overall I am satisfied.

Love the viper, just don’t like the scope. It’s really not hunter friendly the aim points for 20 and 30 yards are to small, especially for older hunters who’s eyesight isn’t what it used to be. I had to invest in another scope with larger aim points. Thinking maybe you should look into this issue, and would be willing to bet the younger generation of hunters would like larger aim points also. Tks for asking my opinion,

Love the bow. Scope was not hunt ready. Off by 10 inches. No lock for hand crank storage is a mistake. Other models have a lock.

The viper s415 is well made and wicked fast. It is consistently accurate and comfortable to carry. The only reason I gave it four stars and not five is that it is a little difficult to uncock.

Shot the new Viper a total of 5 times for zero. Hunted one time, passed on 5 racked bucks. (Probably regret that) Bow is heavy and expensive.

This crossbow and scope has been a tremendous improvement over my Parker that was nearly 15 years old. I followed the instructions on zeroing in the crossbow and literally have shot it at 100 yards with great accuracy. With my old crossbow, I would never consider a shot more than 50 yards. With the viper 415, I have total confidence that I can make shots without wounding and losing game. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

It is a strong bow, but very heavy and very hard to cock. Gave mine away after about a month

Great experience with my first crossbow. After 29 great years of compound bow hunting, a shoulder issue forced me down this path. During my crossbow search, I decided to go with quality, so I went with Tenpoint. I’ve been completely happy with its performance, accuracy, ease of use. I feel ready to hunt here in Georgia, except… There is a lack in consistency in the guidance that I have gotten on the proper procedure to perform after the cocking of the Accuslide. There are three options offered: The one on the placard on the bow itself; the instructions in the Accuslide Series owners manual; and the Tenpoint website instruction video. The Bow: The placard reads “back wind crank handle 3 times after crossbow is fully cocked.” The Owners manual: On page 7, it says to back wind the handle 2 times, then press and hold the gear stop button while back winding an additional “complete turn.” The Video: This guy says, after cocking, to back wind the handle one full turn, remove the crank handle, press and hold the gear stop button, then rotate the silver colored shaft that the handle was in counter clockwise “until it stops.” He then explains why this is done. So….which one is correct?! I want to operate this bow properly, and I want it to last a long time, so it’s only natural that I would like to know and Should know the proper procedure to follow after it is fully cocked.

I gave it four stars because the original scope was no good. It was hitting nine inches high at twenty yards and could not get it much lower by bottoming the scope adjustments out. Ten Point did correct the situation quickly and now the crossbow is awesome,I have already harvested two deer with it at ranges out to forty yards.

My first crossbow purchase. Everything from picking out my new crossbow to using it infield has been awesome love the accuracy and range also easier to handle infield being disabled it’s light enough to handle in my ground blind

We had to return ,after a few shots string was shredding, never could sight it in. String is rubbing on the rail.

I absolutely love the crossbow. The AcuSlide cocking device is a game changer. The crossbow is really fast and accurate. It’s a little heavy for as small as it is. The only thing I can really complain about is, the crossbow did not come with a hat.
