KnockOut Slugs Okay so I purchased the KnockOut slugs and tested them in my Hatsan customized AT P1. Before actually loading these slugs in the gun, I Weighted them for consistency. I was using a low-grade measuring scale device (Cen-Tech 93543). The quality of the weight over several pellets appeared to render very reliable weights. Next, I did a visual compare between JSB exact 15.89 and the really hot Hades 15.89 in .22 caliber of course. The KnockOut slugs are a much taller projectile and my first concern was being able to fit in the magazine. Well, they fit with not issue but, the diameter was just a small concern. It was not enough to be a showstopper. Taking it to my range, I found the first few shots to be like flyers? Nothing was hitting where I aimed but, honestly my shot was less than a couple a centimeter at 20ish yards. After that, all my shots started hitting the mark and I was getting slug inside of slug. Power was noticeable increased over my pellets. I use a metal swi
Things I would have changed:some of the slugs had a little metal filings inside the cone. also look a little rough inside some of them. I would love a 500 count tin
What others should know:Slugs seem to work in pellet guns that you would thing they would not. You must make sure your backstops are capable of dealing with the increased impact as well as the power down range.

Nice case and shape
Things I would have changed:They would not fIt into my .22 caliber Air Venturi Avenger. They jammed every time I tried to load one as if they were too large. It seems they bulge at the middle.
What others should know:They jammed every time I tried to load them into my 22 cal Avenger. They seem to bulge in the middle.

If you know you know. These things fly just as good as their Diablo cousins.. and they weigh the same as the redesigns. With twice the BC* So if your gun pushes a redesigned 25.39gr JSBs at 850 ft./s or more youre in the clear ., this is a wonderful choice for you. They have a pellet back and they are very uniformed and clean. They shoot superb from FX smooth smooth twist X liners. all of them* pellet, slug a, and superior..., light and heavy. They also shoot really well out of my cricket which has a CZ barrel. And they also shoot wonderfully from LW barrels. Choked and unchoked. Long story short this is the best all around slug .217
Things I would have changed:I rarely say this. But nothing*
What others should know:Enjoy my favorite slug

What others should know:the 216 or the 217 shoots the same to me. Maybe it's just my guns, but I cant really tell a difference. Buy two of each and you will get one tin free, and if your gun shoots one better than the other then that would be the ones I would go with. Myself I ill buy 2 of each when I ore-order unless one of the calibers loses its accuracy.

I got 2 tins , one 217 and one 216 , I checked the size 20 slugs from each tin the 216 was all 216 but the 217 there were 16 216 and 4 2165 so i checked more of the 217 and 90 % were 216 , I orderd 2 more 217 and checked them 1 tin was 217 the second tin was 2165 , I checked my gauge and mesured 5 differant weights of 217 H&N slugs and 1 tin of FX slugs and the were all 217 , so my gauge is good so there is a problem with the consistency of JSB slugs
Things I would have changed:I think the lables were put on wrong tins and one of the machines is making under size slugs at 2165

Remember that saying: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is? The key feature of these slugs is the price: half the cost of FX Hybrids. They are well formed, and well coated (both critical for slugs). They shoot tight groups at closer distances... see below for longer range. They expand, but not as much as Hybrids, more in the range of Hades pellets.
Things I would have changed:If the hollow point went all the way in, nearly to the tail, then the expansion would be improved, but far more importantly the mass would be closer to the outside, and they would not require a slug liner for long range shooting. As it stands, they will spiral off with longer shots from standard SmoothTwist barrels, unlike Hybrids. Also, one can swap standard pellets, Hades pellets, and Hybrid slugs on the fly; they all zero the same ( With different holdovers at long distances, of course). These do not, shooting (with my Dreamline) a good two inches to the side of where the others zero at 25 yards. Since long range, flexible swapping of ammo, and high expansion are key to me, these fall short, even at the affordable price.
What others should know:Probably good with classic rifled barrels (with 30+ FPE), as they have a higher twist rate. And good with FX Impacts with high twist rate slug liners. Slug liners are hard to justify on the medium powered Dreamlines, and without them, these are limited in long range accuracy. Also, like any slug, they form hellacious slug-jams, and require drilling them out, not just rodding them out, so be prepared to lose the use of your gun for the day/trip if you double load!

I shoot these out of my old Career 707 RWS Mark 2 twin tube long gun. Shooting them around 825 fps at the muzzle I am getting them to 270 yds with lazer range finder, and hitting a 20 inch steel plate with good consistency with no or light wind. They still hit very hard at that range and mushroom out real flat. Being the old Career has more power on the wheel I would think I could get them out to 350 yds with ease. They are quite amazing slugs.
Things I would have changed:Not a thing.
What others should know:Some barrels are more finicky than others. The Career really likes them.

Extra energy at Long range. Able to shoot much further distances than with pellets.
Things I would have changed:Not a thing.
What others should know:They mushroom at 270 yds and go through tin siding even at this distance. My old Career 707 RWS II is pushing them at around 825 fps and they still have plenty of energy to make it to 270 yds.

I was able to use these slugs in my Crosman 2240's, Hatsan AT P1 and FX Tact Compact. All three shot well with minor adjustments on the 2240's for elevation (C02's).The targets I used were backstopped with Gardner Bender duct seal. From using pellets to the slugs there was a visible difference with respect to impact. The slugs pack a punch and I can just imagine the devastation on small game.
Things I would have changed:It really was a guessing game picking between the .216 and .217. It would be nice if I understood what that really meant before purchasing but, it appears I lucked out.
What others should know:Make sure you know where you are shooting and what is behind your shot. You could do some unexpected damage if you miss the intended target. Actually depending on the target (pass thru) you could still do some unexpected damage. Pricey but, worth it for the hunt.

These things are shaped great, fly fine, expand well, and really hit hard even at 200 plus yards.
Things I would have changed:Nothing.
What others should know:At 244 yards I am shooting a steel plate with these traveling around 825 fps in my Career 707 II at the muzzle. They are pretty much disintegrating at that range and muzzle velocity. Even in wind they are not affected nearly as much as a heavier pellet. My power wheel is on lowest setting, so I can push them even faster and shoot even further. I have a 340 yard range where I can shoot. More testing to come.

I use them in my 28 ftlb springer effectively. That is at good velocity and accuracy. They are undersized slightly because they fall an inch into the breech of my Benji Prowler but fit my mach 12.5 well enough to exceed Rabbit mag in velocity! Same weight.
Things I would have changed:I'm happy with the performance at ten meters in a springer!!!

Deep HP
Things I would have changed:Make a slug that works with standard air rifle barrels.
What others should know:Shoot about the same as H&N Slugs the same weight and size. Knock Outs have a much deeper HP than H&N. Flashpup, Gauntlet and Stormrider from best groups to worst at 20yrds. All rifles liked the .217 size slugs best. None had one whole group but Flashpup had thumb would cover. More testing required. Note I am not a Die Hard JSB Guy. Cheap air guns should shoot cheap ammo well in my opinion. I am just looking for a slug that will work with my air rifles for hunting.

Gun: FX impactX, power plenum, 700mm STX pellet liner, no other mods. I ordered both the .216 and .217 both fit in magazine and chambered smoothly with less resistance than the jsb redesigned monster. At ~140bar both sizes averaged 945fps grouping just under 3/4" for the 217 and about 1" for the 216 at 50yd. I am planning on lowering my regulator and gradually increasing it for tighter groups at 50yd.
Things I would have changed:The slug's shape is obviously more resistant to damage in the manufacturing process and shipping do to the lack of skirt. The price is ok, but i believe jsb could do better maybe offer a bulk pack, they are sturdy enough.
What others should know:Once you attempt slugs for their obvious advantages in bc there are some things you have to accept. Pellets are mostly drag stabilized with a rotation to help iron out weight inconsistencies. Slugs are mostly rotation stabilized, so twist rate and barrel geometry play a greater role. If you are experienced in using holdover, the BC on these slugs makes for flatter trajectories so expect a learning curve. I personally will be switching to slugs exclusively (if i can tighten the group) for just that reason. Also my 4 stars on the "size shape distribution" is only based on appearance and consistency, i did not weigh or measure the slugs. Just like any pellet/slug try them out.

The knock out cal. 217 is the hardest hitting slugs or pellet take I have used in my Beeman Commander. Hitting cans at 100 yards blowing big holes out of back of the can. This is one of the most accurate pellets or slugs that I have shot out of my gun. This gun had over 5000 rounds through with many types of pellets.
Things I would have changed:Pricy and you need a powerful gun.
