Midsize discretion with full DoubleBack functionality. The DoubleBack pack is our smaller to midsize hunting pack ideal for shorter sits and those that prefer a minimalist approach. Made with our famous Fleece-Wool fabric, this pack is completely silent and very efficient at carrying your essential hunting gear. What sets this pack apart from others is our patent-pending DoubleBack lower carrying system, which lies completely underneath and independent of the traditional pack storage systems, giving you more room and organization. With the DoubleBack system, you can easily carry rattling antlers, saddle gear, clothing, and more. The drop-down gear pouch has multiple position options for carrying your bow, crossbow, and rifle. Other features include ample internal storage, hydration compatibility, side storage pouches with drawstring closure for easy access and security, a zippered top pocket, snap closed handle, a sternum strap, and adjustable padded shoulder straps. The best
Purchased this pack for mid season/cooler weather saddle hunting where the need may arise to carry additional layers to stay warm, dry and comfortable when the weather changes. This pack is extremely quiet when getting into the pack and the size is just right for me for what I need it to do. I attach my saddle platform and climbing sticks to the outside of the pack and stow my gear in the pack along with additional clothing layers and rain gear. For heavier layers, I will attach them to the outside of the pack. Before purchasing this pack, I had purchased the COS DoubleBack Xtreme Pack for the late season, which is a bigger pack than this one, and when this one went on sale I knew it would be perfect as my mid season pack and budget. If you’re looking for a super quiet high quality built pack and do not need to load up with a ton of gear for your day out deer hunting, then this pack may be what you’re looking for.

In need of a new late season pack, I chose this one after being impressed with the zone 7 versa jacket and pant I bought last year. The pack specs appeared to have everything I was looking for and also the interesting drop down pouch. I had the idea that my Hawk Helium sticks, one of which is tipped with the Hawk platform, hopefully would fit in the pouch. As a saddle hunter primarily, carrying my stick setup has been challenging. I’ve strapped them to my lighter early season pack and also used gear ties and sling them over my shoulder like a gym bag. Both of these options were ok but it always seemed a bit awkward. I was hoping for the best that the double back would work better knowing that if it didn’t, I was still hopeful the pack would be great.
I can report I am thrilled with the outcome. The Hawk platform fits perfectly into the pouch and I can secure my climbing sticks like you can a bow as advertised. This, combined with the many zippered and side elastic storage compartments and it’s about all you can ask for, except you get the added benefit of the soft and quiet material. You would have a hard time finding more comfortable shoulder straps. I haven’t yet tested the packs ability to keep contents dry in wet conditions but I’m sure that will come one day.
If you’re planning to expedition hunt you probably want the bigger pack but if you’re looking for a quality pack at a very reasonable price you can’t go wrong with this pack.

This is going to be my go to pack for my out of state hunts and all day sits. Fits everything I need, camera gear and then some. On top of all that, it is quiet, and I mean an unmatched quiet. Other packs are out the window for me.
