10 of 15 Dragon Claw Air Rifle Reviews
I like everything about this gun this thing is Bad to the Bone I would recommend this for anyone that loves airgunning this is a great gun at a great price.
Things I Would Have ChangedIt should come with the arrow quiver/mount.
What Others Should KnowYou will love this gun
About a year ago I purchased a Walther Parrus.I was impressed by the power and accuracy. Last January I purchased the Dragon Claw. Sent direct to Saddle Mountain, Will did his magic. and on March 13th the ammo finally got here. Nielson Specialty ammo.Shot it for the first time. took three shots to sight it in. THIS IS A RIFLE.WOW
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing,
What Others Should KnowSpend the money send it to Saddle mountain and get good ammo. I got mine from Nielson Specialty Ammo.I will be ordering the 45 cal Light hunter as soon as Pyramid restocks. Ruth at Pyramid is most helpful and knows what she is talking about.
I got this rifle for my dad. He absolutely loves it. I purchased it from Pyramyd Air everything was great packaged great not a scratch. Pyramyd Air is awesome. My dad hasn't had a chance to shoot it yet. But when he does I will let you know. Thanks again for Pyramyd Air!!
nice looking gun
Things I Would Have Changedhandle could be made better
What Others Should KnowI did a review on the dragon claw I just get it back from saddle mountain gunsmith he tune it an now this gun is more powerful than before it hit hard with the 243gr so if you have the dragon claw or the 357 recluse or the 909 get it tune you will love the extra power
it is nice looking an a hard hitter when it come to hunt game
Things I Would Have Changednothing
What Others Should Knowi had this gun before an sent it back it was miss up that was four years ago. now i just get another one an its go to go an hit hard i am shoot 243gr. but i sent it. to willi for a power tune. the 909 an. the 357 recluse i had it power tune an they are a beast so if you get one of theys gun have a power tune done an you c the diff in the gun get back later an let yall no how the dragin claw do with power tune
The Dragon Claw, over all, is a well-made rifle. Weight and balance are good. In design, the single reservoir is more aesthetic.
Things I Would Have ChangedMake the trigger pull adjustable.
What Others Should KnowIt helps to put some lubricant on the trigger and cocking mechanism. Also, the bore size was found to be 0.498 after slugging. If you are planning to cast your own bullets, then try the Lee 500-360-M bullet mold. This will give a bullet with a 0.499 diameter. In the single reservoir rifle this will give 3 good shots.
very powerful and great accuracy
Things I Would Have Changedthe fill probe is junk get a foster and save yourself alot of headaches..
What Others Should Knowair venturi ammo is horrible get yourself some quality pellets and you will get great groups.. mine loves 175 grain mr hollowpoint ammo.. i get over 700 fps on the stock rifle..
I love this rifle, I got one that was remanufactured and is the older 290cc duel tank. That doesn't matter though, still powerful and accurate. I am using the 185gr.hollow point, the sheer size is amazing, I want to get the 336gr pellet, should be called a bullet at that size, and see how the rifle does. This rifle can compare to the power of 45 long colt and to the 45 auto as far velocity, amazing. The knock down power is tremendous, I think I could go white tail hunting with it depending on the distances. The rifle, when you get ,looks like a over and under trap shotgun. It also swings up to your shoulder like one to, it feels great. Just get one or get onevof the other calibers you won't regret it.
What Others Should KnowOn the description it says, about using a 32mm objective as far as scopes go, you probably should get offsetting rings or a offsetting 11mm to weaver type scope mount to us a larger objective scope. I did the latter becuase I am using the UTG compact 3-12-44 Swat scope on mine ,it has a 30mm tube so thats also why. 1 inch offsetting rings are easier to get than 30mm offsetting rings. Hope this helps everyone.
I love the power ! even the load Bang !
Things I Would Have ChangedThe price , the fact that it is only a single shot gun ! better range of ammunition to be used.
What Others Should KnowI have had a air leak & the cocking bolt was replaced as-well due to how it slams forward when firing, and it was fixed quick and returned to me but came back with the rear wood stock lose as if it is going to break off . how do I tighten this ????

When I pulled the trigger on this airgun it was instant gratification. I am not a big fan of small caliber firearms even when it comes to powder burners. I like to feel like my I got my manhood back from my wife when I shoot a weapon and this puppy does the trick. The air bolts come out of this thing so fast that I can not see them in flight. I was amazed at the power and force it hits with. The wood stock in my opinion is just beautiful. Out of all my PCP airguns this one has taken the number one spot in my favoritest list. It is a total blast to shoot and all my friends that have seen it in action gets a huge kick of seeing a .50 caliber air gun in action in which I really love watching their reaction.
Things I Would Have ChangedI would not change a thing honestly well besides maybe go down a little in price.
What Others Should KnowThe bolt is going to be a little stiff if you have bought this new. It only takes a little break in time (a little shooting) to wear it in to where you can cycle the bolt easyley. So, do not panic or fret when you take it out of the box and go to shoot it for the first time like I did and think that there is an issue. There is no issue. It is just that the weapon is built to such high and tight tolerances that some breakin is required. Happy Shooting my fellow air gunners.
